[Mission] Herbs for the Birds

"Pretty serene out here." Kira said out loud. He had received a new mission several hours ago to search for two different types of herbs that grow in the mountains. The weather was pretty peaceful, and he had a piece of parchment with the visual appearance of each of the herbs scrawled crudely upon it. Kira was on a flat stretch of rock up in the mountains, having relied on his Surface Climbing technique to get this far.

Picking up a small stone off the ground, Kira concentrated on it. I need to be able to give my chakra to objects, dad said. He wasn't very good at this yet, but he was told it took quite some time to pick it up. He closed his eyes and tried to bend his chakra to his will, reaching out into his deepest feelings and digging away at them, trying to bring the chakra to the surface and into his hands, where he began to mentally force it into the rock.

Kira continued for a few seconds, but gave an exhausted sigh as he opened his eyes and stared at the rock, his chakra ceasing to flow. I'll get it someday, infusion. He threw the rock over his shoulder, listening to it bounce down the cliff face several times before becoming faint and obscure. He resumed looking for the herbs, glancing this way and that, looking for some sign of life. It took awhile before this yielded any results.

Kira gazed upwards and noticed some green growing in the rocks below. That's worth checking out, he thought to himself. He approached the cliff face and shakily pressed his foot against the sheer surface, willing his chakra to pool up in his feet and give him traction. After a moment of concentration, the flow began and his feet seemed to be magnetically inclined to stick to the surface. The rest of his body did not follow however, so despite the steps taken he had a hard time supporting the weight of his upper body on these surfaces. He just wasn't that strong.

Regardless, he kept his composure and continued onwards, step by step until he reached the patch of green. One of the bits of plant was a rooty-looking vine, and a flower was growing right next to it. "This is perfect." Kira said out loud again, glancing down to the picture and matching the two together. I hope she will be satisfied with these.

He reached over and dug his fingers into the muddy soil that the plants were resting in. The vine was uprooted fairly easy, as all he had to do was unwrap it from the rock it dangled from. The flower was more of a challenge, but he managed to grasp it at the base and give it a firm tug, pulling it up. With the two herbs in hand, Kira began to make his way back down the mountain. He smiled, it was a good day today. He had a bit of luck.
