Task: An elderly man is asking for ninja assistance/escort to the sand village. He is extremely old and requires a ninja to help carry his things and protect him from the wild if necessary. The trip there will take at least three days because the man requires several breaks to rest and recuperate. [/quote]

Hmm, this time Kotonaru had an interesting mission. He was to escort an old man to the Sand Village. This should be easy but it could well become a much more difficult task than expected while underway. Just ask Uzumaki Naruto whose famous antics got his group on a mission involving a rather powerful swordsman and a billionaire as the enemies. Hopefully this old guy was not hiding anything, as Kotonaru had only graduated from the Ninja Academy a few months ago at the longest.
Well, Kotonaru would be able to keep an eye out for bandits and the like if he watched the old man from a distance. He was stronger than the average person by far, so most people should not be a problem. However, a well trained ninja would certainly pose a problem. Kotonaru looked at the route the elderly man was intending to take and it was relatively far away from missing ninjas who were known to probe the area.

Kotonaru met up with the elderly man. The mission details had understated the facts. The old man was extremely decrepit and Kotonaru ended up carrying the old man pretty much the entire way to the Sand Village. Every time they paused for a break, the old man would begin wheezing and coughing and gagging, to Kotonaru’s eventual vast but silent annoyance. Every time during the break he would go and practice the Hiding with Camoflauge jutsu that he was still studying, and was likely to for some time into the future. Fortunately nobody interfered with their journey except for a decrepit bandit who scrambled for safety after Kotonaru destroyed a nearby tree with a jutsu of his. After that nobody interfered at all. When he arrived he had to show the other village’s guards his paperwork and the mission details then he was on his way back.

All the way back he attempted to make as much of himself invisible as possible, hiding parts of his limbs, up to about a foot or so successfully. It was not a lot but he was making progress. During his last mission he had only started learning this jutsu after all so, yeah, not bad progress at all he thought.

If anything, the return trip was more eventful. First, despite the fact that virtually nobody appeared to inhabit the Sand village, a large swarm of people were asking Kotonaru about various relatives he did not know about, when he tried to leave. Then he ran into a hive of bees which pursued him all the way across to the borders of Konoha. Then there was a minor invasion from a handful of missing ninjas who were rather quickly dispatched before he could do anything. Fortunately none of these events hindered him greatly in any fashion and soon he was back in the mission office, reporting back that the old man had been perfectly fine the entire way.

He continued practicing his Hiding with Camoflauge technique all the way back home.
