Shopping Woes

Makussu was bored. He had been lying around in bed, having a slight crick in his neck from a awkward sleeping position the night before and he decided that he would read out of his paper jutsu scroll before he set out to do something for the day. Flitting through it, he eventually settling on one he liked. “The Paper Shuriken jutsu…..I definitely need this.” With that he read on as he walked down the stairs, ignoring everything around him as he sat down at the table, still reading until a loud banging sound finally got his attention. “Makussu, earth to Makussu!,” his mother screamed at him finally waking him out of his scroll induced total focus. “I need you to go out to the market and get me some ingredients. It won’t be too much, as long as there's no line.” With that she turned back to the stove, where she was apparently cooking lunch ahead of time. With that Makussu went back into his scroll, eating his breakfast slowly so he didn’t get his rather valuable scroll stained. Eventually his breakfast was completed and he stepped out of his house and through the door that lead into the origami shop, noting the new patterns that had been added to the stock along with all the other arts and crafts the store contained before emerging into the sunny streets that normally was Konoha. Walking through the streets leisurely, he blanched when he pulled the list from his pocket and unfolded it. “She calls this short? Eggs, seaweed, rice, beef…..oh this is going to take forever!” This little piece of motivation caused him to shunshin towards the market district in hopes of speeding up the process, only to be met by a large throng of civilians going about their usual business. Sighing he looked around before going to the first shop he had on the list, G&M Marketplace, where he would be getting a fairly large chunk of his work done. Walking into the mart, he generated paper chakra within his core sending it to his hand causing a pair of paper sheets, getting ready to do the first step of the jutsu. Sending chakra throughout the sheet to make it float, he concentrated more of it within the center in a straight line going upwards to create a classic book fold to start. Meanwhile he looked at the fresh produce section, browsing the apples, picking out only the plumpest apples as per his mother’s instructions meanwhile he shifted the focus of the chakra in order to make a cupboard fold, causing the paper to bend inwards. Damn, this sure is a test of concentration, folding paper without hands while levitating it and picking out apples at the same time. As he finished loading his apples into the basket and walked off towards the meats section as the paper now folded upwards, walking towards the butcher, thankfully with no line at the moment. “Hello, can I get 2 6oz steaks please,?” he said, while behind him his paper had unfolded itself by brief lapse in chakra accumulation within it while folding in on themselves in diagonal corners. A briefly surprised look played itself across the butchers face, but then he simply dismissed it with a quick shake of his head he went to go get Makussu’s meat cuts, who used this lapse in time to make two more diagonal folds, he manipulated them within the air so that they were now with his first one underneath the other, fitting it’s own flaps into the second one, along with the second one doing the same once the other finished. At this point the butcher had returned with his meat cuts, each wrapped in foil to prevent the blood from spilling all over his hands. Bringing it over to the main counter, he brought it back towards the main counter, wincing as he realised he had forgot to ask for ryo from his mother, paying from his own pocket before going home briefly to drop off the food, his mother seemingly ignoring him completely before heading back to the market to pick up more food. Heading towards the market once more, he quickly picked up a large bag of rice, meanwhile heading off towards the dango den before dropping off the rice so he could actually train. Heading into the Office, he was greeted by the sight of the waitress behind the main desk, seemingly bored. “Oh Makussu! I didn’t see you there. Just you as usual?” He nodded and was escorted to his stool, going the menu before finally deciding on his choice. “Excuse me!,” he called out causing the waitress to look up. I would like some Ikinari dango with some Earl Grey.” With that he went back to his scroll, focusing on his next step.Quickly finishing his food, he quickly headed home where his mother was, holding a even larger list than the one he already had. “Sorry Makussu,” his mother said. “But it turns out that we need a lot more than i thought we needed. Could you get some more for me?” Makussu took the list from her hand and groaned. So much for finishing that jutsu today.
