A bonding expereince {P} Empty A bonding expereince {P}

Wed Sep 17, 2014 2:05 pm
The birds chirping and the incessant plunk of water falling from the roof were the two sounds that awakened Shinji. For a moment his eyes remained closed until at last he opened them and looked around him. At first he was a bit lost, he had no idea where he was. In that brief moment of mental panic the former Kage quickly remembered that he was in the house of Rika Uzumaki in the Leaf village, he must have fallen asleep in the armchair. What also slightly alarmed Shinji was the fact that he had fallen asleep with his father's sword on his lap, that sure was safe. Stretching ever so slightly the Uzumaki stood up, making sure to clip the sword to his left hip, and made his way to the kitchen that he had seen the night before.

The kitchen was quaint, but it also had a certain allure that all place serving food had. Instantly. Shinji took note of a small letter sitting on the kitchen table. In a few strides the Uzumaki was by the table and reading the letter that had been addressed to him by Rika Uzumaki:

Shinji,
I went out for a bit to get some food for dinner. Please make yourself at home. Feel free to explore and do as you wish. Also, at some point you should go out and meet the other members of the clan around our district. They have been without a leader for quite a while. I am sure it would do wonders if you were to speak with them, restore their hope and confidence in the clan. If you need anything while I am away talk to my neighbor, Rin Uzumaki, she is very helpful and knows her way around the village better than most.
-Rika

A slight fleeting smile passed over the Uzumaki's face as he read the letter, it was like having a mother, well, sort of. Glancing around the kitchen, Shinji was quickly able to ascertain where the food he wanted was. Thus, half an hour later, the Uzumaki was sitting down to a hearty breakfast of eggs, toast and bacon along with milk to wash it all down, truly a breakfast of champions. Allowing his mind to wander as he ate the Uzumaki glanced down at his sword, he needed to work with it, or at the very least work with blades. It was then that Shinji took note of the pile of stuff he had brought along with him sitting in the corner of kitchen surely bound for the laundry at some point. Eating the last of his meal, Shinji walked over to the rather large pile and, after a bit of digging, he pulled out what he was looking for, the two Blades of Exile he had been given by the last Uzumaki clan leader.

Sighing a bit to himself, Shinji knew how these blades worked, he had done some research on them back in Tengakure, he just never had the time to really work with them. Gripping one in each hand the former kage and now exile walked to the back of the house where he found an open door to a small courtyard. The courtyard had a certain beauty to it there was a small zen pond with a maple tree growing over it, if anything it was peaceful. Luckily the rain had stopped for the time being, so Shinji took a seat by the pond cross-legged and gazed into the still water.

Holding a blade in each hand, Shinji began the process of bonding with the blades. He knew the theory behind it all, but putting it into practice was a bit harder, it always was. Allowing raw chakra to flow through each blade, the Uzumaki closed his eyes and lost himself in thought as a constant flow of chakra was applied to the blades. It had been a long time since Shinji had collected his thoughts and now was a good a time as any to do so. Perhaps it would aid him in setting a few things straight for himself, yes, that was what he needed.

As the chakra flowed through him into the two blades so did thoughts flow through his mind. The first one to come to mind was his situation, he was an involuntary exile. Takeo and Xyxer had made him an exile from his own home. Perhaps this had been Xyxer's plan the whole time: a member of the Mist village joins Tengakure to take it over. Naturally this cast doubt on Denkiteki, but Shinji ignored that for now. For now all that mattered was the task at hand, protecting his people. Shinji knew Xyxer was erratic and violent, he had been put on the anbu, because he was effective, but now Shinji regretted the choice, would things have been different? The thought saddened Shinji as he once saw Xyxer as a friend, but now he was unsure of what he was. A little part of Shinji hoped that this was all a bad dream and that soon he would be awoken by the village elders yelling at him. Alas, this was not the case.

Coming to terms with this Shinji's attention turned to how he would deal with the two usurpers. He did not wish to hurt them in anyway unless necessary , but beyond that Shinji was drawing a blank, perhaps Denkitkei would have an idea. Ah, yes, that brought up another issue , Den, where was he? Was he hiding? Would he ever be found? Unfortunately a more troubling thought crossed Shinji's mind: Did Den want to be found? This thought shook Shinji to his core, had he been a bad judge of character in naming Den the next Tenkage? Shaking his head at his own foolishness Shinji knew only time would answer these questions, surely it would.

All of a sudden Shinji felt a warm wave of fatigue wash over him that pulled him from his thoughts with a jolt. Assessing what was happening Shinji took stock of his chakra supply, he felt the sword that hung on his hip drawing a small amount of energy from him, but furthermore, even with his prodigious stamina, he felt the blades he was slowly bonding with begin to pull more and more power from him. Galncing down at the blades once again Shinji was rather shocked to see that a chakra chain had manifested from either hand and wrapped around the hilt of each of the blades-it was bizarre, because the Uzumaki did not remember releasing a chakra chain.

Despite this new development, Shinji kept pour chakra into the blades in an unrelenting stream. Watching the chains around each hilt he noticed that the chains were slowly starting to sink into the hilts, it was working. However, as the chains sunk deeper and deeper into each hilt the Uzumaki felt more and more drained, it was rather alarming. Three sources sapping his chakra were slowly making the Uzumaki feel a bit lightheaded, but he soldiered on. There was no way he was going back now, he was almost done. After about a minute more the last link of each chain melted into the hilt of each blade and Shinji felt the massive drain on his chakra system subside very quickly-it must have been the actual bonding that took all the chakra.

Standing up slowly the Uzumaki threw both blades and allowed the chains attached to the blade's hilts to unfurl with a wild abandon. Then, just as the tips of the blades were about to hit the trunk of the maple tree they stopped at the will of Shinji, oh yes, this was going to be fun. Retracting the blades Shinji was pleased with the results. The chains retracted until Shinji held the hilt of each blade. Now came the real test, had the blades truly been integrated into him? If they were he would be able to dematerialize the blades and materialize them once again.

Willing the blades to disperse, Shinji was pleased to find that he no longer had a blade in either hand, yes, it had worked. Smiling to himself, Shinji turned and walked back into the house. Unsurprisingly he was hungry after exerting such an effort in the bond process. In a heartbeat, Shinji was back at the kitchen table eating what he dubbed an everything sandwich, which had everything from lettuce to jelly on it. It was a very weird concoction, but it was also filling. In a matter of minutes the sandwich was gone and Shinji was full once again. Out of curiosity the Uzumaki released and retracted the blades of exile as he sat at the kitchen table. Then, after a few minutes of this, the Uzumaki recalled the blades for the last time and returned to his seat by the fire in the living room-the rain had started again. Sighing to himself the Uzumaki closed his eyes and allowed himself to drift into a land of dreams.
