Traveling the Village (solo training)

Ryou stood at the far side of Kumogakure, his green and yellow flecked eyes hidden by his yellow tinted sunglasses. His hand vibrated slightly out of nervousness for what he was about to do. He was faster than what he was going he knew it. Now he just had to grab it and bring it to him. Leaning down he placed his fingers on the ground and his legs bent backwards so he looked like a olympic sprinter. His eyes stared ahead as he took five deep breaths. The blood in his body seem to sense what he was about to do and quickened. His heart beat faster moving faster and faster. For a moment a grip of fear grabbed him as he realised what he was just about to do. His body trembled with excitement as he stared at the largest city in the world. His body vibrated than was gone. His legs spreading out as he flashed over the land. The feeling of freedom and speed made Ryou laugh. He moved his arms to spread them out feeling the wind on his fingertips. The velocity tugged at his hood and threw it back. He spun grabbing his hat as it shot off his head revealing the short spikey hair. His feet moved quickly trained by years of training on how to dodge and move. People seemed to slow down around him. He could feel the thrum of their feet on the ground, hear the sound of people as he flew by blowing purses and groceries out of hands. He turned and zooming back caught the groceries and put them in the bags. he dropped them off and grabbed the purses out of midair and returned tham before vanishing as a red and yellow streak. His body for once seemed alive and excited. He never felt as happy as he was when he was running and moving. Seeming to step into speed itself and just move and go. Ryou didn't want to stop ever, he just moved and moved and moved. The world seemed to slow down when he ran. The sound of sirens made him turn down a side street knowing he would come back to his true goal. A full squad of STORM Military Policestood outside a bank as robbers fired out. Ryou blasted around the cops and through the doors. Spinning he caught one guy a devastating knee to the face and flipping in the air he vanished as a red and yellow streak. The guys spun around trying to find the source. Zooming by he clotheslined a guy holding a crossbow knocking him cold. Sliding down he slammed into the last robber breaking his leg. Leaping up his leg zoomed out delivering a perfect soccer kick to his jaw. As people turned to see what happened He was already out the door. The sound of boots told him it was time to go. Out the front door and over the people he moved like a breath of wind away from the calamity. He came back to his street and sliding on the ground he laughed running forward again. Watching some cars going 70 he turned around running backwards. looking over he saw two kids staring at him with awe. he laughed and started making funny faces while evading vehicles and people while running backwards. The kids laughed until there parents turned to see what they were looking at. The womanm simply gaped and the guy laughed. Looking at his street ahead he pointed to the red light and kept going. Leaping over a horse drawn carriage he ran and ran. His legs pumping, his blood moving, his heart beating. He wanted this more than anything. To be the fastest man alive he planned to earn every syllabel. Already a quarter into the city he looked at his watch seeing it had only been a hour. He grimmaced and pushed harder stepping up his speed. The world blurred around him. People flew by his perphial vision as he tried to keep the tunnel vision away. He needed to see everything there was always. As he passed he saw a mugger in a alley holding a little girl while her father begged the man to let her go. Making a one eighty he streaked into the alley delivering a heavy punch to the mans jaw, going in circles around the man he struck with punches after punches. Grabbing the girl he placed her by her father and zooming back delivered that patented leaping knee to the face. Flipping over the prone body he landed and was gone again. His mind raced as his body did the same. The aspect of the world seemed to move slower than molasses. He leaped over and saw bridge ahead. He laughed as the thrill of what he was doing registered in his brain. This should be impossible for a person to do this on his feet. His mind drifted to the past of who he was before this and a feeling of lost entered his chest as he realised he may never see his mother or father again or talk to them. He kept his pace though refusing to look back, he had to accept who he was. He wished he had never entered that lab with his father for he would be home with them. Or in the ninja academy dating some girl or on the soccer field. Time kept dragging on and on and on. His father always said that time went by quickly but it seemed so slow to him. He knew he would forever be a entity of speed in a world of patience and slowness.. He could see why. Everything seemed to be going on but he just flew by unable to interact with the normal people. Spotting a bridge ahead filled with horse drawn carriages he grinned and leaped up landing on the back of a carriage. Ignoring the quick yell he was gone running over the cars. People looked out seeing a blur. he saw a guy and reaching out grabbed his drink and swallowed it down. His body was getting thirsty it was simply nature. His body was burning calories quickly. He began to wonder what it felt like to be a lightning bolt moving so quickly that it was just registered than gone. He pushed the thought of liquid away from his mind and just kept running. His lithe body with strong muscle was perfect for the power he had been given. He saw himself on a soccer field running down with the ball at his feet. Moving, weaving, dodging. Saw himself doing things that pro's did. He loved soccer it was what he had been good at but fate had set him up for something else. He looked over and saw some birds that seemed to be stalled in the air and he laughed. His speed was incredible even now but nowhere near what he was capable of. He saw himself in the future a being so fast he was everywhere at once. The world was a step around and the entities of space would call him for help. He saw time itself opening up it's maul to swallow him. The thought of being able to go back in time and possibly stop his past self from drinking it. But what would happen if he did some great deed that needed him? Would the world end because of his selfish choice? Shaking his head he continued to run. It was easier to run from problems than to deal with them now.He turned down a side road seeing construction ahead and weaved his way through, the air felt good in his lungs and his body seemed to do everything at superhuman speeds. He looked over and saw the waves flashing up and down on the great sea. The statue of the kage in the distance made him realise just how far from the land of eartu he had come. The days of the country were still fresh in his heart. Watching rabbits leaping across the plains, the sound of birds and the hiss of snakes. It was a dangerous place to live but it taught survival. His mind went back to his father who had protected him when he finally had everything he worked for. His mothers kisses as he went to school and the sadness in her eyes when he ran. he saw the look of dissapointment in his fathers eyes. But he knew it wasn't him he was dissapointed with but himself for allowing this to happen to his son. He was the father and his duty was to protect his son. The fear that coursed through his veins that day had been replaced with a thrill of what he was doing. The world was a open place with thousands of variations and possibilites. He wanted more. Not power or money he never saw a reason for all of that. But speed was what he wanted to become. The true manifestation of speed. His body weaved through crowded streets and when it was cluttered he just ran over them refusing to stop. The sound of the sea even at this speed was there and turning he hit the beach kicking up sand behind him as he ran. Even sand didn't slow him down. The breath of air over his face was salty and smelled of the ocean. That great expanse of thousands and thousands of miles. He wasn't ready for it yet he just wasn't there. The leaping of a fish caught his eye and it seemed to glow as the sun caught it's scales and flashed out. He laughed and leaped over a rail and up the stairs and back to the road. The feeling of sand in his boots only made him smile. He knew he could do this everyday, could just run and run. yes he could fight crime and stop bad guys but it just wasn't as thrilling as the power of speed. He knew the end was coming but he also had the trip back. His shoes thudded the ground but the vibrations that were suppose to shake his body wasn't there. His body was completely set in it's speed but it just wasn't enough. He needed more, he needed faster. He dodged the cars on the road turning and twisting. The clock in his brain ticked away. One moment he was on a street the next he was on another. The world seemed to slow down as he rocketed across the largest village in the world. The big apple, home of the ruth. Once more his mind returned home to the day he saw his first lightning storm. His mother came in to check on him only to find him sitting on his windosill watching the lightning with facination. She sat beside him and wrapped her arms around him. Her white lilly perfume wafted up around him, and the combination of Ozone and her Perfume burned into his mind. He looked up seeing her oval face with her long dark hair falling down in curls. Her blue eyes stared into his brown and she stroked his hair. She spoke of what lighning was and how it worked. She was a cop in the city, a desk cop she caught people in their paperwork and was never in the field. Her arms around his shoulders she spoke about the heat of lightning and why it happened. She spoke of Thunder and the rolling roars that it gave off. Though she was a cop she loved science especially storms it was where he got his facination for them. But his love was for lightning. The glowing bolts that streaked and wove always in control and knowing it was the sudden death. His mind leaped back as a diesel flew in front of him. His reflexes busted in and he slid down and under the truck. His movement put him back up on his feet where he flashed off again.  The pulses coming off it was so fast that it was impossible for the human eye to process it. Nothing compared to the speed and destruction of a Super nova in full force. The sound of music flitted through his ears and looking over he saw some kids dancing on the sidewalk but as quick as he saw them they were gone. The world seemed to hold them in it's grasp whule it allowed him to just keep moving.He heard a noise and turned, Ryou was coming across another bridge where a woman was stumbling after a  collision. She teetered on the edge and screamed. Red nova moved through the mass of horses and flying by grabbed the woman by the waist. He let her go leaving her by a hospitial  and when she turned to look he was already gone. He looked down at his watch and was amazed to see in all that he did it had only been thirty five minutes since he last looked. His mind raced ahead to what he had done in that time and was just shocked. He was almost clear across Kumogakure. The day seemed to never want to end while he was running. Ryou heard lighting and turned towards the echo it had came from. Through the cars that had stopped he saw a man  that was performing raiton jutsus and firing it into the people. A anger rose up in his chest at the man's blatant disregard for life. He turned down a side street and came out behind the man at full speed. His seventy miles per hour strike ended with a gasp and a crunch as he drove his elbow right into the mans arm where he held the gun. Turning he stood in front of the man and just started deivering punches mixed with his speed and strength it was crippling damage. The guy slumped in on himself and Ryou let him drop. Grabbing the gun he took off running full pelt. He saw the ocean ahead and pulling his arm back he threw the gun as hard as he could. He watched the instrument of death flying through the air and falling into the ocean. He hoped that was the last time anyone ever used that gun. He turned and zoomed down the road eager for what was next. The feeling of what he had done to that man still coursed through his veins. The thrill of something changing instantly and the shock on the mans face when a seventeen year old gave him the beating of his life. His movements through the city was a blur to him, he thought of the day when he would step and be on the other side if Kumogakure and he wondered if his mind would return to this day when he had begun to become what he was destined to be. He thought of how his parents had sold him to pay off their bets, he was interesting to the peoplr who were owned money too. They wouldn't understand that sometimes things just happened. Leaping up he landed on a building  and kept running, the traffic in this city was hell and he was glad he didn't have a  a bike. He simply ran over and through the traffic. He wondered if this was what freedom truly meant. To go on and on while everyone else stood still. Was this the dream of mankind to always have pure freedom? Ryou turned down a alley to avoid the sound of construction ahead. Seeing a fence he looked at the walls and laughed. Pushing his body to his max he raised a foot and pressed it against the wall. He laughed as he ran on the wall, over the fence, and down to the ground. The moment his feet touched earth he was gone again. The world was a promise to those who moved like he did. Taking back to the speed he flashed over the road his feeth thudding on the ground as he passed car after car. Spotting a biker he slowed down so he was running next to him. it took a moment but the man looked over and slammed on his brakes doing a full brakie front wheel stop. Ryou laughed turning around a corner. The day was barley over and already Ryou had crossed two thirds of kumogakure  Though it was fun there was a lot of crime out here and most of it on the streets. The day was only at noon when Red Nova looked at his watch. He realised he could have just won twenty gold medals in one run with all the things he had done. Ryou stopped at a diner since his stomach was rumbling. Looking at the place he realized it was one of those old fashioned diners you see in movies. Shrugging he walked in and sat down. A overweight woman with brown curls and a warm smile stopped by and started going on about the specials. Ryou ordered seven combos, twenty burgers, ten milkshakes, and three apple pies. The lady laughed and asked if he was expecting company but when he told her no she just stared at him. She asked for money and he dropped three one hundred dollar Ryou on the table even offering one as a tip. The lady laughed and walked off to fulfill the order. Alex's speed had one major downside when he slowed down. You got really hungry and needed to replace the energy. Yes he could go and go but when he stopped he would need fuel. He picked up a pair of pencils on the table and started drumming them. His hands moved faster and faster until they were a blur than ceased when the pencils snapped from the force. He looked around and spotted a nicely dressed man watching him curiously. He smiled nicely and turned back to his table. The man stood up and started walking but just then the woman returned with some of the food. Alex thanked her and dove straight in. Wolfing down burgers and friends, chicken, steak, corn, green beans, potatoes, and anything else that came into contact with his hands. His driving hunger had him enhaling food. The entire time he ate the nice dressed man sat and watched with a interested look in his eyes. That didn't go unnoticed for while he was eating he was also watching and the mans eyes bore into his back like a man prizing up a gold winning pet. The rest arrived and he continued to eat. Finally the man stood up and walked over taking the seat across from Alex. The man smiled that sickly smile and laid a wallet on the table with a badge. The man spoke and his voice sounded sickly like a cobra inviting a mouse for dinner. "What's your name Kid. I'm Agent Marcus with the ANBU I never seen anyone eat as much as you." As he spoke his eyes never left Alex. For a moment he thought of telling the man to shove off after all it was rude to interrupt someone when they were eating. But right now the man was between him and the door. Ryou leaned back drinking his soda. "Nick. Names Nick." The guy crumpled his brows his fingers twitching. "Nick, What?" It was obvious the man wanted to know everything and warning bells went off in His head. He leaned forward staring at the agent. "What do you really want?" The cold voice of Alex seem to take the agent by surprise. No doubt he was use to people being awestruck by the badge and willing to do whatever he wanted. But Alex had grown up around people like this. The man grinned leaning forward. "I know a normal person doesn't eat this much. So what is it kid, ninja?" That was what he had been waiting for. Luckily Alex was still wearing all his gear. "I'm....out of here." Before the man could move Alex was gone out the booth, out of the door, and down the road. He laughed remembering the look on the man's face. It was just too priceless. However the man was also a fed or at least he said he was. Ryou moved around traffic as he thought back to the man. He didn't act like a fed or maybe he did. Ryou hadn't gone around meeting ANBU. Just not something one did. Moving through the city he found himself in hells kitchen. looking around he realised he must have turned down a wrong road and not for the first time he wished he had brought a map. He continued running until he came across a binch of teens kicking a downed blind boy. His temper flared, turning slightly he smashed shoulder first into one of the five in there sending him into the wall. He struck twice once in the solarplexes and the second a uppercut to the chin. One turned around to see his buddy laid cold. Walking over he leaned down to check on him. Ryou flew by delivering a strong soccer kick th the teens head knocking him cold. The other three looked around trying to figure out what had happened. A red and Yellow blur flew by yanking the middle teen off his feet and throwng him into the wall back first. The other two turned to run but a elbow to the jaw of one dropped him. He looked over seeing the kid running as fast as he could. Ryou grinned and flashed over stopping in front of him. The guy stumbled and fell right into Ryou's Fist. He moved around his opponent driving his fist several times into the mans back and ending it with a crushing side kick to the man's ribs. Looking back he ran over to the kid and picked him up running him up the stairs. The kid told him the number and in moments he was setting the kid down in front of his door. He rubbed the kids head and smiled. "Bullies are only strong when their victims are weak. He nodded and blurred down the stairs and back to the streets. Moving quickly he found his wat back to the road and this time simply ran through the construction zone dodging cat's, caterpillars, and cement trucks. They looked to be building another hotel and he laughed as he wondered if it was another Hotel. Ryou made it through without any cement getting on him which was a accomplishment seeing how much there was. He turned down a crossroad and into a speeding zone of cars, bikes, trucks, and mopeds. The flashing of cars spoke they were going as fast as he could. Leaning down he took the athletic sprint position once more. His eyes stared across the busy intersection which was his aim during this. Breathing deep he pushed off the ground and ran. His body blurred quickly and the vehicles seemed to slow down. Leaping, dodging, weaving, and evading got Alex across the freeway and to the other side. He stopped and turned around looking at the cars. Suddenly he heard sirens and turned about to head out to help when he realized the MP had pulled up behind him and a cop stepped out hoding a gun at him. The man yelled the everyday word. "Freeze". Which of course to most meant not too and it was the same with Alex. He waved and vanished around the cop and down the streets. More sirens told him that MP was a bit more than he said he was. Now Alex was dodging traffic and ANBU while trying to reach his goal. He moved through the streets as cop cars and swat cars set up to stop him. Since it was just his body he was alot more versatile. A boom sounded and a hole appeared in a wall. ryou  growled and flashing forward slammed into the cop chasing  him and kept running. Ryou slid into a aleey and hid behind a dumpster as ANBUflew by. He couldn't believe those psychopaths were chasing at him. there must be white supremists in the MP which if there was would only lead to violence and conflict. He heard a scream and reflex sent him full sprint around the corner. A woman stood in the road as a ANBU slid sideways on it's side going straight at her. The woman was obviously too scared to move. Ryou moved at his top speed grabbing the woman around the waist and pulled her out of the path. Moving down the street and to the left. His body leaned forward as he ran. Arms moving and legs pumping. He culd almost feel his celluar structure expanding and returning. The blood in his body flowing faster and faster and his heart matching his velocity. Even at super speed his body was capable of going and going seeming to evolve as he did. He turned his head as he heard sirens, looking back he saw several cars coming. The thing about Kumogakure streets is they are very crowded. Ninja get stuck even  ANBU. Ryou leaped over the people while running through the gaps and on top of the properties. He laughed watching the ANBU  getting held up by lines and lines of people. Kumogakure was more than just the perfect playground, it was also the perfect challenge against MP. ryou leaped up and out the back of the red Dodge two by four and down the aisle of cars. The wind through his hair made him feel even better on the chase. Nothing like armed ninja chasing you through a city to make you feel alive. He swung around a corner and into a alley kicking up trash behind him as he ran. A cop at the end of the alley turned his head his eyes widening. He went for his kunai, the hand stumbling. He knew what the cop would do and that left only one chose. he slowed down to a quarter of his speed and drove a left hook into the cops jaw sending him onto the ground. He stopped and checked his vitals and nodded. The cop was just knocked out which made him smile. "Sorry about that mate, but I didn't do whatever they said I did. " He tapped the cop on the face until he groaned and came around.He stared down at the cop behind his glasses and his face hidden by the shadow of the hood. The only thing about the teenager was the heavy accented voice. Looking up saw two cops running in his direction. For a moment he just stared at them wondering how people ran so slow and why they wore so much weight on their already slow speed. He waited until they were in range to where they pulled kunai and in a blink he was by them and down the road. Unlike cars he could accelrate right to his top speed instantly. The cops blinked since one moment there was a teenager standing over a cop the next there was no teenager. Ryou moved down the road feeling his muscles work under the tight flesh. Weaving around the cars his soccer training coming in handy since he had learned to do tight turns and heightens his reflexes. As he ran his mind raced to how this all happened and back to the diner. mentally going over everything that happened. But still there seemed nothing obvious the man was really good or so slimey he just had so much on him already it was dfficult to get through the layers. Ryou ran up the stairs of a fire escape and to the top of the building. His feet slammed on the ground than launched himself throught he air to the roof top of the other. His speed and the momentum allowed him to leap over the buildings. He stopped and looked out at the city. His body continued straight and out the otherside where he rolled onto the building top. He pushed up and was gone in a blink, down the fire escape and to the streets and back on the run. This should have felt boring by now but having cops chase you through a city was just too much fun. His eyes scanned the skies as he ran through the traffic streets of the city. Ryou cursed turning toards the bridge and started toards it. The wide metal ropes and the lo empasses would make it hard for the police to follow. His feet thudded on the ground as he made his ay through the streets and alley ways. But all his turns and side projects aimed towards the same goal. The chopper continued to try and follow the speedster through the city. Cops could be heard as they came after the young man. Ryou looked back at the cops.His feet hit the bridge and grinned feeling the home streh. He had crossed Kumo in two hours. Evaded cops and ninja, knocked out a gang of teenagers , saved a kid, stopped a purse snatcher, kept a oman from being run over, knocked out a cop, dropped a man on a shooting spree. And recorded the biggest chase in kumo history.  Ryou looked across the bridge where the cops were and breathed deeply. He set himself back into his racing stance and waited. Feeling his heart pump, the blood race through his veins. the sound of birds in the air and the sirens. A man with a bull horn yelled and that was his signal. Ryou pushed off the ground running to his max speed across the bridge. he weaved and dodged through the crowds of people, leaping up he landed on a horse and dashed across running on cars. A group of bikes were up ahead and his feet pressed on them as he ran along the straight line of bikes at Seventy miles per hour. The cps stood watching some with mouths agape as the teenager came at them then flew by. They swung around but Ryou was already turning a corner and going down the road. Nothing seemed to get in his way this time. No stops, no side projects, no distractions. This one was complete time and a race between him and his score. Ryou moved through the streets a red and yellow bur ignoring everything around him. A tunnel vission entered and he saw everything he needed to. His speed kicked up trash, knocked down people, spun trash and debris into the air but all for the sake of beating his time.Ryou moved down road after road, turning, sliding, evading and dodging. He went through Kumogakure the first time in three hours and twenty seven minutes. That was with the stops and helping people and the cps. This time it was a full on sprint for the gold. His eyes focused ahead as his speed rocketed him through the city. He could feel power and energy in his body seeming to grow and expand. But he didn't have it yet, it was there just out of his grasp but he was coming closer and closer. His shoes started smoking but he ignored it. he had tobeat his time, had to become faster and better. The sound of sirens in the distance meant nothing to hi at this moment. Yes it was selfish, yes not very heroic but sometimes you had to do it for yourself. He was the soccer prodigy and the king of his school, the son of a general and a good man. This was going to be his golden moment. No one would ever know he did it but it didn't matter. What mattered was that he did do it. His shoes ripped off clattering to the ground but still Ryou kept running. The ground pulsed under his feet as if the city itself was alive and eager for him to accomplish his goal. It was there, right there. He could see where he started off at, the beginning, the catalyst, the opening show. His power had lead him to this moment where he would be even faster. He moved quicker, his body seeming to come alive as speed itself wrapped around his feet. The motions of his body became faster, his muscles stronger. He saw the win, saw everything there was right there. Sure he wasn't ready for some of the big names yet but he would get there. He would become someone of legend and someone who truly saw the power of speed not for just stopping bad guys and evil people and aliens and monsters, but because of the sheer joy and freedom that speed gave someone. Cop were in front of him in front of him but it didn't matter, Ryouleaped them with ease. Knees close to the chest like he was holding a ball. He landed and kept running even as the shouts in the background dimmed. He saw the goal, saw the win. He had made it through kumo , had cold cocked several bad guys, knocked out a cop, pissed off a ANBU agent. Had lead the Policr on a wild police chase across the city. Saved several people on a bridge including a woman and her child. And now here he was a hour later without any shoes, his bare feet thudding on the ground and the smell of accomplishment in the air. Another cop carand a man with a kunai. Alex flew by grabbing the kunao and throwing it into the sea. He personally hated weapons and thought those who used them were cowards. Any loser ass hole could draw a knife but it took a man to use his body as a weapon. Ryou looked at his goal ahead his eyes watering at the thought of what he had really done. He should have wn a thousand gold medals for this day and a thought a thought occured if he would ever be allowed to play proffesional soccer or run in the lympics. if he would ever wear a gold medal around his neck for the hard work he had put in not with his powers but as a child who had worked so hard to play proffesional soccer, who had made moves and perfected them. Of a young by running through the field at home imagining himself on the track at the olympic games. He wondered if he would ever be allowed to stand in front of his flag and hear the roars of the crowd. To see his father and mother watching with proud looks on their faces. A feeling of emotion ran through his heart. He knew it would never be, he knew he would never get that oppurtunity. A group of cops pulled up in front of him but they didn't understand. Yes he was fast, yes he had powers they didn't. But what pissed him off was the jealousy and hunger in the eyes of some of the cops there. They wanted it for themselves and hated Ryou for having what they didn't. As a cop stepped in the path Ryou floored him with a running right hok to the stomach, a second one jumped out to grab him only to grab air as he dashed by. The yells of anger and outrage echoed around as Ryou  a thirteen year old from Earth  wove through the cops laughing at the slowness f the people. They might as well had tried to chase down and grab a cheetah for all it was doing. A ANBU transport appeared up ahead and ANBU members began to file out. Instead of going through the men he went around the transport. He wondered if someone had tipped them off about what he was doing and where he had started from. For the cops had a uncanny ability to simply show up where he was headed. He wondered for the first time if that agent was a telepath able to see where he started from and just what Ryou had planned to do. Ryou. saw his goal and his tunnel vision began to collapse arund him, his feet hit the hard dried dirt of the area just outside the city limits of the village.A place where those cops couldn't go for it was out of their jurisdiction. Ryou smiled as he ran over the starting line but instead of stopping he kept on running. He ran and ran, feeling the freedom once more. The agent wouldn't be able to call in an full anbu hit unless he backed it with proof. Now Ryou was free once more and once more was speeding through the wilds of the world, his bare feet on the forest ground felt good but Ryou saw more oppurtunitues out there than just that. He knew he had more to learn, more to master, and more to do. His role in all of this wasn't ver because he ran througha city. There were villains, monsters, evil groups, and good people out in the world. Some to take down others for friends but he couldn't stop and go home now.
