One Handed Training

It was raining, Cho could hear the drops hitting the window and dripping down to the wooden window sill below, it was cracked, paint has flaked off and left a bare wooden feel, its grains had been expanded and shrunk over the years from the excessive weather changes that had become normal. Cho blinked once, not moving his face from the pillow. A dribble ran from his cheek, sticking the pillow to his face. He blinked again and made a small groan of annoyance, he had been pushing back a large training session for far too long now, there was no right day. It was either too cold or too warm for him to force himself out of his bed, Cho had made himself do a number of missions, basic helping exercises, tracking down merchants or helping old people cross roads. He blinked again before he pushed himself up, rubbing his eyes for the final time before jumping out of bed onto the hardwood floor below him.

Cho had begun his training with the prestigious Konoha academy, late for his first class only a few mornings ago. Already he had gotten onto the bad foot of his teacher, a peer of his own age and yet vastly superior in all ways, Cho rolled his eyes, feeling himself starting to slip into making the same excuses that had forced him back under the covers of his cheap bed.

Instead, Cho got dressed, pulled out an umbrella and made his way out into the downpour. It cleaned the thin layer of dust on his boots and his umbrella, they had both been in storage since he was last out and about training. His first port of call was the Advanced Training Facility, to learn more about his own capabilities alongside using them, primarily he wanted to complete his training in using hand seals with one hand, a specific skill that would aid his future training. Around him Shinobi were busy training, Kunai hitting blocks, waves of fire and wind slicing into straw targets. Behind him a group of three practised Genjutsu and how to know when caught by one. A unique skill that he mentally noted as something he would find very useful, he had a few Genjutsu up his sleeve but having a better understanding of its effects could make him slightly more formidable.

And that was why he was here, he had met a handful of Shinobi who would, in his opinion, leave him scratching his name into a rock with him buried underneath it, he had a long way to go before he would be able to fight them. So he aligned himself against a straw target and drew a senbon from his side pocket. Breath… Cho thought to himself, letting the world around him slow down. Each breath allowed him to zone in, to let his imagination come out to assist him. The target would start to sway, it would draw a weapon and come running for him. Cho dropped down into a lower stance, twisting his wrist and let go of the Senbon allowing it to fly towards the ‘enemy’ target. The target was able to drop out of the way and avoid his attack, thankfully he had already been ready for this, using a second weapon attack to throw and catch the straw imagination enemy in the throat. He took a breath, it was so basic and would not assist with anything.

Instead he would have to focus on the seals for his own Jutsu, physical attacks were not exactly his speciality, that much was obvious. Instead he could focus on techniques such as the Body Flicker, and his Earth Jutsu types. Perhaps even his attempt to harvest the natural energy that surrounded them all. He chose Ninjutsu, his hands forming swiftly into the Ram sign. He shifted in place and appeared a short distance away. His goal was to continue training this until he was able to complete with a single hand, he got close, but at least he had done a lot of work getting there. This jutsu was slightly complicated for him to practise with, instead he shifted to an easier Jutsu, the substitution Jutsu.

There were plenty of soft targets that he could use to practise with, each of them would swap with him and disappear into nothingness as he trained, the multiple hand seals gave him plenty of opportunity to train the ability. By lunch time, he was able to perform the hand seals with a singular hand. The next objective was to be able to learn to use this with his Earth style Jutsu, not an easy task by any means but one he knew he could obtain. Cho returned home, happy and content with his learning for the day.
