Dust Release [v7.2]
Fri Aug 25, 2023 5:17 pm
Name: Dust Release
Components: Earth + Fire + Wind
Appearance:
Backstory: What was once a powerful Iwagakure village exclusive has become a well known advanced element across the world.
How it is used: The user creates a complex combination of Earth, Fire, and Wind release, making Dust Release. This name comes from the element’s ability to disintegrate anything into nothing but dust. The most common and basic method to using this technique is through creating standard three dimensional shapes, such as cones or cubes. Particularly skilled users can apply this element to almost any type of shape as well.
Special Traits: This element has several unique traits with it. These effects are not inherent to anything created with this element and must be stated in each application for them to take effect.

- Disintegration:
- This element is incredibly good at harming people and represents destruction in its purest form. Any damage done by Dust Release cannot be regenerated unless through a Medical technique of a rank and power equal to or greater than that of the Dust Release effect causing this damage.
If a Dust Release effect causes an area to have it's health/HP reduced to 0 or below 0, that area will also be completely disintegrated, leaving behind only very small amounts of dust. Any limbs or other body parts destroyed by this effect cannot be regenerated unless through a Medical technique of a rank and power equal to or greater than that of the Dust Release technique causing this.
- Targeting:
- When targeting jutsu, Dust Release techniques clash with the targeted jutsu’s health stat, not power stat. If a targeted technique lacks a health stat, the Dust Release jutsu will clash with what the opposing technique’s power stat was before any non-scaling bonuses were applied (such as debuffs, masteries, amplifiers, etc).
- Duo:
- Many Dust Release techniques are “two part” meaning they have an outer and inner border. First is the outer border, which expands to maximum size. This outer border is intangible, freely passing through any physical or chakra constructs, and can posses no damaging effects. Once the outer border has expanded to its maximum size, the inner border then expands to fill the area of the outer border. Only the inner border is damaging and techniques with this two part system are capable of possessing greater range than other techniques.

Changed phrasing of "Targeting" effect (for clarity) from:
"When targeting jutsu, Dust Release techniques clash with the targeted jutsu’s health stat, not power stat. If a targeted technique lacks a health stat, the Dust Release jutsu will clash with the opposing technique’s power stat before any debuffs, masteries, amplifiers, or other bonuses (positive or negative) were applied."
To:
"When targeting jutsu, Dust Release techniques clash with the targeted jutsu’s health stat, not power stat. If a targeted technique lacks a health stat, the Dust Release jutsu will clash with what the opposing technique’s power stat was before any non-scaling bonuses were applied (such as debuffs, masteries, amplifiers, etc)."
Changed phrasing of "Disintegration" effect to bring the disintegration effect up to site standards. Originally:
"This element is incredibly good at harming people and represents destruction in its purest form. Things damaged by this technique disintegrate completely, leaving behind only very small amounts of dust. Any damage done by Dust Release cannot be regenerated unless through a Medical technique of a rank and power equal to or greater than that of the Dust Release effect causing this damage. Any limbs or other body parts destroyed by this element also suffer from the same restriction if they were attempted to be regrown."

Also changed the backstory to flow better:
"Originally created in Iwagakure but, after the village’s fall, it has become widely distributed across the lands."
