A Thing or Two (Closed)

Black hair, resembling the shade of the darkest ravens feather, tethered together in a messy braid that fell between the back of her shoulder blades. Her shoulders set back as she walked back into the Arena. Leaving the door from one of the sides and stepping 5 meters towards the middle point.

The kunoichi didn't have much on her at this given moment, due to her last battle that shredded whatever equipment the lass had walked in with. It was a given. At least she was able to walk out of there alive.

So currently her attire was simply basic; a black cropped tank with fitted leggings and combat boots. The black ink of a dragon tattoo that curved along and down her back peeked from the fabrics of her tank. Perhaps after this showcase, the Chunin will busy herself with regaining her necessary gear. But today she will learn to fight without, because not everyone will have the luxury if their gear was to be destroyed within battle. Just like it was in her last fight.

Meika fixated her ghostly gaze upon the other door that stood across from her position. No doubt, she was waiting for the arrival of a certain someone. She believed it was one of the members that partook in one of her missions during the snow season. Today's goal was to season one of Kumogakure's Genin and see how well they did. It would certainly teach them in a way or two.

Meika's current position, 5 meters from the wall of the Arena.

The crimson kid shinobi approaches the arena with confidence, really feeling like he's grown as a shinobi, though not so much as a warrior. He's never been in a fight in his life, save for the very one-sided match that left him with some really nasty scars on his back. That fight being his motivator for all he's done up to this point. If he wishes to enact vengeance, he must become stronger. He thinks he is ready to go to the next level, but he'll have to prove himself over a few trials; the first being a fight with his fellow comrade. 

He swings the doors open, armed with nothing but his clan garbs and basic ninja pack. As he walks into the arena, he yanks the curved earphones out of his ears. The faint sound of something soft and nostalgic can be heard before he pulls out the cassette player the earphones were attached to and presses the pause button with his thumb. He looks up at Meika and almost immediately recognizes her. He's shocked to find out that he'd be sparring with her after the whole mansion event. His shock turns into embarrassment as he remembers her first impression of him was breaking into a mansion and proceeding to wreak havoc on the bottom floor. He was pretty well covered during that time though, so he hopes that Meika might not recognize him herself. Shoot, is this penance for royally screwing up their mission?! He clears his throat before piping up. "Uhhh... Sup?"

"Aya aye, no need to seem shocked. Your job is to strike first and then we will go from there. Can you handle that?"

Meika spoke in a silvery tone; which was clear, light, and pleasant. Her gaze dropped a bit. Her lashes lowering as the kunoichi calculated the space between them. Even though she had the open opportunity to make the first move, it seemed more correct to let the one that was there to learn, to attempt their first move against their opponent. To see whether or not they can land it.

Whether the two of them was properly introduced was of Meika's least concerns at the given moment. She wasn't always the best at introductions and tend to forget about them. But they have plent of time for that to fall into place. She was already well aware that the one standing before her was someone of recent. Judging by his height, stance, and the tone of his voice as he addressed himself to her.

Meika was already getting a good read on his attitude, just as she usually did fairly quickly upon meeting someone.

Either way, it was time to get to work. Meika fell into a simple stance that prepared herself for his strike. One hand was positioned a bit in from of her right thigh and her other arm was slightly set back, her left hand being somewhat hidden by the back of her left leg. It was only a slight moment. Meika's left eye transitioned to black as she activated her Uchugan during the same moment as she fell into her simple stance.

Battle Notes:

Goro smirks. "So Jiji told you about all that, huh? Well, a wise guy once said that the best offense is a good defense! It's called snake-style boxing, a form of Kung-Fu! But today, I'll try mixing in some tiger and crane style, it's good to branch out every now and then!" Goro says confidently. Despite not being a taijutsu specialist, he looks pretty enthusiastic about it. He drops to a low stance forming "claws" with his hands and holding them in front of him, mimicking a tiger. "By the way... The name's Goro, future Raikage! Pleased to meet you... Properly!" He closes his eyes for a moment before opening them again, the ground below his feet cracking as the power of his spirit and the aura of his chakra bursts out. To the naked eye, it would be invisible, but for Meika, she'd be able to see a thick green aura around him, as a large amount of chakra is focused to his body.

In the blink of an eye, Goro appears in front of Meika, low to the ground and dragging his fist through the floor, flinging rubble and a cloud of thick dust into her face as he goes for an uppercut.
