An Unforeseen Story of Blood and Misfortune

A wine cup, that contained something else other than red wine, was held delicately within the fingers of the female Kyukestuki. The dining table within this new home was massive for a lone diner. Providing her excessive empty space to be left within her quiet thoughts. Pondering over her past life that had existed within Kirigakure’s walls. Once again the bitter topic had found itself clawing through her mind once more, tainting her mood into a distasteful one. Why does this always get to trouble her? There was something that wanted to be let known. Kana just wasn’t aware as of yet what it was.

There was something that she was missing. A missing puzzle piece that she was supposed to put back into place.

Kana shifted herself within the chair, repositioning into a more comfortable seating as she raised the glass to her lips. She could feel her gums aching for the drink that was about to come, yet she was soon to be disappointed with another taste of something that was better served warm, and fresh. Kana shrugged off the disappointment, this was better than nothing for the time being. She wasn’t in the mood for a hunt today.

But just as the edge of the polished glass touched the softness of her lips, a sudden disturbance coursed its way forcefully through Kana’s being. There was a sudden unexpected occurrence of pain as her fingernails extended to full length, which completely shattered the wine glass within her hand. The warm sensation of her own blood running down her wrist brought her eyes down to see the mess. Thick crimson now pooled upon the dining table beneath her.

Kana sighed. What has gotten into her lately? She’d be sure to clean the mess, before finding herself in the situation of having to explain this to one of the others. She wouldn’t know how to explain it.

Kana raised her hand to her lips. Trailing her tongue through the crimson liquid that ran down the milky white skin of her arm.

Spirit Rise Day 1:

It didn't take long for her to clean up the blood from the dining table. Luckily none of the others had to witness the aftermath of her clumsiness. Still. . Kana couldn't help but wonder what had gotten into her. It wasn't normal for her to have sudden uncontrollable bursts like this. It wasn't like she was going through long periods without feeding.

A gentle hum purred from her slightly parted lips as Kana leaned herself back against the edge of the table. Taking the time to examine her nails, which was no longer fully extended. Kana caught her thumbnail in between her teeth before applying pressure. Once again falling into the old habit of cracking her nails with her teeth. Not enough to fully break them off, but just enough to cause a web of cracks to form acrossed the transparent surface. How long has this habit been a thing? Kana has finally lost track of time.

Nonetheless, she was about ready to retire to her bed chambers. A dull headache was starting to crawl to the surface and she wanted to try to sleep through it before it evolved into something worse. So Kana pushed herself from the table, heading into the direction of the hallway that led to the many rooms. Each one for each of the members that now lived within this hideout.

But before the red-haired Kyuketsuki could make it far enough to exit the dining area, she suddenly felt the headache increasse significantly, which caused her surroundings to suddenly spin. Kana whimpered pathetically as she softly collapsed into the wall nearby. Pressing her forehead against it's surface, hoping for the dizzying to soon subside.

Spirit Rise Day 2:

"What a drag~" Kana spoke bitterly to herself. She had finally made it to her bed chamber where she collapsed lazily onto the queen sized mattress. The comforter beneath her was a rich shade of scarlet and velvet to the touch. Kana spread her fingers out acrossed the soft surface, stretching out like a feline who was just about to fall into the state of unconsciousness.

The day had been beyond exhausting in such a simple way. The Kyuketsuki didn't do much to overexert herself. Instead; she just wasn't feeling very well at all. The strain of feeling unwell has driven her to want to try and sleep it off. See if the next day will bring a new day, and a new experience. Hopefully this feeling will subside after her eyes close to rest.

And so. . Kana allowed her lashes to brush against the softness of her cheeks. Her body relaxed beneath the floral chandelier that hung from up above. It's sparkling glass in which was decorated by the draping flowers of wonderful wisteria. The lowering sun casted a glow that beckoned through the window, which lighted up the glass hanging from the chandelier.

Kana felt her body overcome by a sense of warmth and fuzziness as she slowly lost her consciousness. In the haze of falling asleep, the red-haired woman could slightly make out a soft melody that whispered into her hear. The melody was so soft that it did not stir her from her proceeding slumber. Instead it seemed to coax her even further into sleep.

Spirit Rise Day 3:

During the red-haired woman's deep slumber, the melody gently faded into the background. Slowly it subsided until it no longer existed. But even though the little tune was no longer able to whisper itself into the sleeping woman's ear, the melody had already done it's trick. It's tune had already embedded itself into Kana's unconscious state. Interrupting her dreamless state with unwanted terrors and nightmares.

Nightmares was not something that normally bothered the Lass, but these was on a whole different level. Racking through her mind and flooding it with images of a gruesome past that had been left forgotten for so. . so long. So much blood and carnage that even she was left uncomfortable, as the woman tossed in her sleep in a distraught behavior.

Soon enough, the heavy comforter had managed to wrap itself around the sleeping Kyuketsuki. Causing her to feel as if she was entangled by clawed hands that reached for her with only bad intentions. Restraining her from battling the demons that flooded her evil dreams. The ones that sought only to devour her alive like the very monster she was.

Kana finally jolted up into a sitting position. Her ruby irises held an intensity to them as her eyelids opened in fright. She was filled will uncertainty while scanning the room, as if half expecting one of the demons from her dream to crawl out from the veil of darkness.

But there was nothing that moved from the darkness.

Kana finally broke from her spooked trance. Glancing around at herself to discover the tangled blanket and messy bed. Realizing that the taste of iron was warm against her tongue. That was when she felt foolish. The Lass had fell into such a frenzy from her nightmare, that she had cut her bottom lip with her own fangs.

Spirit Rise Day 4:

Kana silently fought with herself. Uncertain if she should try to go back to sleep, or if it was better to stay awake. She wanted to wait till the essence of her nightmares was long gone, to avoid entering right back into another one if she was to fall asleep. With a heavy sigh, the woman brought her knees up and rested her chin against them. Her hands wrapped the comforter more tightly around her small form.

The past few days have really been so unusual, and it seemed as if they were only getting worse. How long was the Kyuketsuki supposed to pretend that everything was okay? A normal person would have been driven to madness by now.

And not only that. . there was something else that was beginning to trouble her. As she sat amongst her mattress, Kana swore that a new aroma was coming from somewhere outside her door. It wasn't a bad aroma but an unusual one. She didn't recall there being a strong fragrance of incense when they first started to stay here.

But there it was . . Kana could make out the scent of roses and some sort of aromatic wood. It was so profound that Kana couldn't help but want to search for the source of it.

She quickly shook her head though. There was no need to be going on some sort of late night adventures tonight. It was best to ignore it and try to go back to rest. Even if she didn't really need to sleep, Kana found sleep as a great way to pass the time.
