Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Fri Jul 15, 2022 5:32 pm
Mission Details:

Baruga's Stat Page:

Two Gates of Rashomon blasted out of the water with a spray of mist and upended sand, causing the crowd on the beach to collectively gasp and cry out. Now separated from the unknowing public through her own technique, Baruga's throat went raw as she skipped "combat quips and sly comments in the heat of battle" and went straight to "roaring out battlefield callouts and commands".

"50 meters, one o' clock! Engaging!"

Using purely her mastery over her summoning technique and Space-Time techniques as a whole, Baruga seallessly summoned an S-Rank Whale — Suizei, her own personal summon in the Whales of the Endless Blue summoning contract. Having summoned the cerulean orca underneath her, the cetacean warlord rose out of the water with water streaming off of his body, before elevating above the sea level and flying wholesale.

("Oy, kid, what's the occasion? There's nothing here.")

("I've got a demon shark about twice your size with complete stealth capabilities, is what. Bastard almost trisected Mitsunari in one go. Help me kill it!")

("Trisected... with a single bite? Alright, then, that's good enough reason, let's get some fuckin' sushi, yeah?")

Although the conversation played out in full in Baruga's head, due to the nature of telepathy, it was actually about a split second's worth of time to parse her thoughts out to Suizei. In the meantime, her mouth worked on overdrive, her eyes already flickering between Blades, the Raikage, and Rizuke as she devised a plan on the spot.

"It's gone underwater! None of us can see it coming until it's too late, so I'll have Suizei use his sensory techniques and call it out so we can counterattack."

With that, a whale call emitted from Suizei at a specific hertz. Perfectly spherical waves of chakra emitted from his mouth in repeated bursts, visually similar to an echolocator found on a modern-day battleship or submarine, providing a visible indicator for the range of his sensory technique. The yawing and constant cry was loud, but not loud enough for Baruga's voice to be muffled out.

"If the thing's still alive by then, I'm going to gather nature chakra so I can actually go underwater and hit the bloody thing! Just wait for my signal!"

With that, Baruga took a seat on Suizei's back and entered a meditative pose. Rather than traditional Sage Mode postures such as the Toad Sage Mode's asana-style seat with o-shaped hands pressed against one another, or the Incomplete Sage Mode's horse stance with palms clapped together, Baruga went into a seiza seat with one palm away from her facing the sky, the other in a closed fist on her lap.

(Spear in fist, pagoda in palm. Her defeat and failure at the hands of Deputy Kage Ichigo Sato had pushed her to find reason and substance behind her craft. The following month at a monastery of Bishamonten had been enlightening and necessary to her pursuit of Sage Mode.)

Baruga closed her eyes to the sound of the whale's call. The silent sea beneath her, the roar of the waves around her, the briny air in her lungs. In truth, this was almost the perfect spot to meditate and gather the nature chakra she required — barring the middle of the ocean itself, devoid of distractions like people or civilization or even landmasses.

As nature chakra filled her body, azure markings etched themselves across her skin, not yet complete. She sought to fortify herself in the face of adversity, to incorporate nature with her yin and yang in harmony, to plunge her soul into the deep crevices of the ocean —

("Something's coming, four o' clock!")

And then her eyes snapped open, glowing gold, but not shining quite yet. Her voice rung out like the crash of a tidal wave.

"Blades, behind you!"

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Re: Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Baruga's plan on the spot is solid, just what the blood craving man expected from this 'Princess of the Marine'. That's what he decided her title would be from his own side of the ballpark. Not being the time for such frivolous jokes, he didn't say this out loud to her though, instead giving the woman a knowing nod before she goes off to do her own thing, what looks like meditating on top of her whale, of which to his knowledge has no name. Considering they had no plan of attack until the shark is called out, he decides it's an excellent time to hone his mind's concentration, and be ready for the demon shark to make its next move. For a small amount of time, he goes through his original thought process on his own last second plans, and remembers any contingencies he might have if it all goes south. At the very least, he could probably Body Flicker out of danger faster than they could catch up, but he'd need to make sure he's positioned properly for it to work. Thank the gods he learned how to form one handed seals, or he'd have a lot more trouble in this situation if he had to do more than that, such as making a platform of water droplets to bounce off of.

Strolling on the top of the water once more, and going out enough to where he knows he could be attacked, he places one of his tagged kunai into his mouth, and simply holds the other in his right hand, so he can perform a small series of hand seals with his left, since had the capability to do so. The Tiger -> Boar -> Rat seals are able to be performed, which lets him activate the Flying Swallow on the kunai in his right hand, which he plans on using to hopefully cause enough damage to let the explosions take care of the rest. He takes a few glances around the area, hoping he'd be able to notice the shark before it comes for anyone, especially himself, but he's not very successful in this task. That's when he hears Baruga's call to him, letting him know of the enemy.

Instead of directly looking behind him, he springs directly in front of him instead, in order to gain enough distance first, but not too far. He's miraculously fast without any need to boost himself, which he uses to his advantage to eventually turn right back around, and take the kunai in his mouth out, throwing it right after his Flying Swallow enhanced kunai. He only does this when the beast opens its gigantic, razor sharp teeth lined maw, and only sending his chakra to activate the sealed timers on the exploding tags once they were out of range, and in the creature's wicked interior. The faster of the two would be the Flying Swallow weapon, which would presumably cut deep into their insides, allowing a weaker point for both to explode into once making impact. Knowing the devastating power of an exploding tag bomb firsthand, he had no doubts in his mind that it'd at least distract the thing long enough to get everyone else's assistance, and at the very least, they'd be more angry at him than anyone else. Lets just hope his plan actually works.

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Re: Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Rizuke would watch as the gory mess would unfold. Baruga would use her whales and the Rashomon gates to control the Giant shark’s movement and to keep an eye on it so she could make calls quicker. "It's gone underwater! None of us can see it coming until it's too late, so I'll have Suizei use his sensory techniques and call it out so we can counterattack." She would call out letting her team know what was going on. This was brilliant to Rizuke he would take a mental note of the tactics she was using to keep the shark moving where she had control. "If the thing's still alive by then, I'm going to gather nature chakra so I can actually go underwater and hit the bloody thing! Just wait for my signal!" She would say as she hopped onto her whale’s back, and from what Rizuke could see was meditating. What a weird thing to do in a time like this, Rizuke would think to himself. He wouldn’t have too much time to dwell on it, there was a danger that could pop out anywhere, and anytime. Baruga was able to call out to Blades to make sure they wouldn’t get swallowed up. On the way out of the shark’s path, blades was able to perform some kind of jutsu that enhanced their kunai and it had an exploding tag tied onto it. This beast would either get ravaged by this, or it would have a really bad case of heartburn. He would watch as the two-piece bikini clad would make it out of the range of the beast.

Now it was time for Rizuke to show what he could do. He would start to let the fire burn within; his skin would turn a shade of orange. He was faster and he had more vigor. Rizuke would chase down the beast, this time he had a plan. He would get within twenty-five meters of the giant beast and he’d perform the hand seals Bird, Snake, Rat, Ox, Dog and by the time he was done the shark would see him dematerialize into a flock of ravens and dive into the water. He would make himself rematerialize under the water making the shark chase after this incorporeal body. This should give the team a few minutes to figure out a game plan without getting eaten by the damned thing, or hurting each other with various jutsu. This would also give the crew a chance to organize their thoughts and beat the beast in one fell swoop.

Rizuke would look at his barely battered team, “I’ve afforded us a few moments of reprieve. I know we all have an idea as to how to beat this thing. I can summon it back up as soon as we’re ready and not reacting.” Rizuke would say to his team. “I don’t know if I’m out of line for this, but I’d rather not lose someone to friendly fire.” Rizuke would finish chuckling and scratching the back of his head. “Baruga is up there doing something on a whale’s back, and I think blades and I are out of our element. I think I can keep this shark swimming laps under us long enough for her to finish whatever she’s doing. Raikage, sir, what would you have me do? I just wanted to take away the shark’s element of surprise and keep us from accidentally hitting each other.” He would say directing his words at his superior.

This would probably be the biggest thing he’s ever done, worst came to worst he was getting in the way of the team and would cause multiple deaths that could have been avoided, but the opposite would be true for the best-case scenario, he could be giving the team valuable moments to regroup and let Baruga do whatever Baruga is doing. If the Raikage wants the shark to resurface at least Rizuke could bring it up above the water within blasting range or whatever. He would hope everyone in the group appreciated this, it was something he had been working on, and he finally felt he could perform this jutsu correctly and not just waste a bunch of chakra trying to put a shark under genjutsu.

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Re: Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Gleaming in the skies and falling with heft did the three Rashomon Gates sink down onto the beach, spraying sand and dust around the structures as Baruga summoned a new whale after shielding the beach goers from possible danger. The orca would displace the water and rise, being soon mounted by the royal summoner, who would bark out commands to the standing trio below her. Noboru had to smirk; in the heat of battle, she had decided to take charge, finding herself in her element, and recognizing the danger of the situation.

For the redhead, the situation was much less dire; in fact, the situation was fun. When had he fought such a vile beast last? Near two years had passed since he had accompanied Katsumi and Anaphiel deep into the mountains, tracking a loose summon, judging it rampant and sentencing it to death, performing the execution soon after. He had been a chunin at the time. How quaint.

His dark eye shifted between Blades and Rizuke, before looking once more into the glistening rocking waters. He could easily find the position of the shark, yet, to do so, he would have to risk revealing the Hyuuga prize within his skull. It was not worth it, unless one of them came close to serious danger. Even enabling his Sharingan would provide unnecessary information to Blades, a foreigner, who already knew of his physical prowess as it was. No, he would instead allow each one of them to pull their own weight through this encounter, and if worse came close to passing, the gourd of sake would prove just as useful of a last resort savior as either of his eyes could.

When the two parted into the water, Noboru took slow steps, listening to Baruga's plan to sense the beast below the waves; it wouldn't take long before Blades was targeted by the shark, a call out that helped the man get out of perils way by the youthful Barug, and so the blonde dashed forward, sending an explosive tagged kunai at the great maw of the steely creature. It was a sight to be seen, how the creature's scaly skin resembled a thousand battered dagger points, or how his jaws parted to reveal ivory bloodstained teeth and gums, as if new teeth rotated constantly to keep up with the violent demand of the beast.

Rizuke took up his place in the fight, trying to lull the shark into a false pursuit of a crow murder, while relaying his own plan to the other three. Making the shark chase him around in circles was a good idea, and it would assist both him and Baruga in keeping tabs on the shark. “Good work, lad”, he would say, before jumping high into the sky, creating a cloud of sand behind him, and as he arched, his skin would start burning as well, before sinking into the waters where the shark chased crows. With the cover of the deepening banks of sand and high amounts of water, Noboru was able to enable his Byakugan without anyone around him to witness the veins that now popped at the right side of his head; faithful to Rizuke’s plan, the shark did seem to chase the crows that the boy created to boggle his mind, swimming and biting at random through the waters, circling what would become his watery grave. The redhead allowed himself to sink to the bottom, watching as the shark approached him above, distracted and infuriated by the murder that teased him, and as he approached above Noboru, the redhead reached out in a leap, grabbing onto the tail of the shark, the sharp skin biting into his calloused skin and trying to cut it without success, and Noboru used his massive strength and every ounce of willpower to pull back, causing the shark to slowly swirl backwards. Spinning more, he created momentum, causing a whirlwind below the surface of the water, with which he would force the shark out of the water and into the air, in the middle of the trio above, where he would be open to their finishers; in a last push, a scream bubbled it’s way to the surface as Noboru swung the shark away from its element, breaking the whirling waters above as the creature spun airborne.

How he wished he could be above the waters to see that sight.

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Re: Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Forum-overhead
BURNING CITIES AND NAPALM SKIES

Baruga was barely listening as Blades sent an exploding tag into the shark's innards, and she could only barely hear Rizuke's voice as he tried to outsmart the shark and coordinate his orders with whatever plan the Raikage had. No, she was too busy listening to the waves, trying to hone in on their patterns — their tune, so to speak — so she could finish harmonizing properly and get to work. It was especially hard because after all that, the bloody fish wasn't dead, since Suizei was still detecting its presence!

Tch, if she got stressed now, then she wouldn't actually complete her gathering of nature chakra. She needed a moment of reprieve, something that would keep the shark at bay and vulnerable, and not just distracted temporarily...

It seemed that lady luck was on her side, though, since she detected the Raikage treating the shark like an absolute joke of a creature. She snorted, even with her eyes closed, as Suizei relayed the description to her telepathically. Pah, just grabbing a demon like that and treating it like some sort of toy... at times, she was envious of close range specialists like her Raikage, but she simply has to remind herself that at a certain level, she'll be outranging them without much chance for them to demolish her up close. Tit for tat.

Then, the seas swirled and parted, and a shark was forcefully thrown several meters into the air.

Baruga kept her eyes closed and finalized her synchronization with the surrounding nature, trying to tune out the attacks that Blades and Rizuke would be throwing out, once the shark was out in the open and completely susceptible to normal attacks.

At the arc of its impromptu flight, and by the time the others' attacks were complete, Baruga's eyes would shoot open, shining with a powerful golden glow that could be seen miles from shore, like a lighthouse. Her skin roiled with the telltale blue markings of Cetacean Sage Mode, azure lines crossing over one another as she breathed in nature and breathed out power.

She looked upon the flying shark and knew that the fucker was still alive.

Time to fix that.

Taking a leaping dive into the ocean, Baruga immediately swam to the sandy bottom, landing next to Noboru Kaito. Her markings and eyes shined brilliantly even under the water. Growling underwater (and, notably, not losing her breath whatsoever), Baruga started flashing through handseals at the same speed as she would in normal circumstances — no, faster, with the power of Sage Mode.

Tiger, Ox, Monkey, Rabbit, Ram, Dragon —

(A whale call resounded in the open sky, audible to anyone within a hundred meters —)

"Come and have a go, then, bloody small fry!"

The Heir Apparent of Lightning Country roared loudly and clearly from underwater into the air, as suddenly, sand and ocean were swallowed downwards, then raised skyward in a furious typhoon. Like a tornado and a blender mixed together, Baruga's Great Vortex Technique ripped up the waters and turned the so-called eye of the storm into dry land for that moment, giving Noboru a full view of the shark getting battered within the vortex of crashing water.

("Hey, lemme in on this, brat!")

As if the poor fish didn't have enough, Suizei flew overhead, billowing dark clouds out of his blowhole. A thunderstorm was summoned on the spot, and in addition to the ongoing hurricane of upturned ocean, lightning poured from the sky, bolt after bolt after bolt slamming into the demon shark's volleyed body. It lit up with the sheer power of the voltage, electricity visible coursing through its skin.

Lightning and thunder. Rain and storm. Hurricane and typhoon. The vortex whipped and whirled, its center gyrating violently, while explosions of sound and bursts of light all screamed out in anger.

With all its rage, its force, its apathy — In this moment, Baruga was the ocean incarnate.

(And if the thing was still alive, then fuck her silly, but at least the Raikage could leap out and hit the damn thing.)

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Re: Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Tue Aug 23, 2022 7:33 pm
All in all, there really wasn't any danger in this scenario anymore. Not only did his plan with the kunai seem to succeed to some degree, taking a chunk out of the foul shark's stamina and vitality... but the rest of his teammates followed suit rather adeptly, once he managed to make it to shore. Against all odds, the little Uchiha that could set off what Blades could only assume was some type of Genjutsu, causing the beast to become more enraged, but at the same time, distracting it from the people that were actually a threat. A faint smile pursed his lips when he saw this, seeing Rizuke make use of what remains of his usefulness to benefit the team, rather than himself. Perhaps, one day, he'd be able to hold his own weight on an individual basis after this experience. That isn't to say Blades himself was too far ahead of him... he was just a lot more built for combat at the moment in comparison. Nothing wrong with that. What about the other more equipped party members, then?

The Raikage followed up almost immediately, and in fashionable ways. With what he could only call a 'hero leap', Noboru Kaito sends himself flying at the direction of the demon's maw, only to plunge into the depths below it. Whatever happened under there was in coordination with Baruga - the woman he labeled a princess just moments earlier - whom also joins him after taking on what looked like beautiful markings onto her body, paired with a golden glow of power. What happened after made him nearly lose his resolve, as he realized how truly outclassed he was in comparison to these two; the big bloody fish was not only used to create a goddamn whirlpool with what he only assumed had to be created by the whale princess, but he was flung into the air like a hacky sack through what he thought had to be the sheer strength of Kaito. Now, with the trajectory, and the fact it would take a heavy fall onto the sand near him later, it was technically already a forgone conclusion that this beast was, to be blunt, little more than fish and chips. To add insult to injury, the summon Baruga brought in earlier struck it down with a barrage of lightning. Not just lightning, but lightning brought down by its own blowhole. None of this was necessary anymore; it was overkill. He couldn't even imagine how Rizuke might feel about all of this, because by his own words, he was even lesser than Blades himself in this situation. If anything, this felt like a flex by Kumogakure, nothing more and nothing less... but he knew better to think that way. That would lead to feelings he wouldn't be able to mask easily. Instead, he takes the opportunity to capitalize on the spectacle to try and make a statement of his own, regardless of the fact they don't even know where he's from in the first place.

Putting his right hand on the hilt of his blade, he takes off strongly into a sprint, making his way towards the part of the beach he believes their dead, or nearly dead enemy is going to land. Before he launches himself into the air, he took a deep, spirit fueling breath, figuring in the heat of the moment, no one could notice such a subtle thing in the first place. That one breath gave him the ability to fly so fast through the air with his jump that, if you didn't have trained reflexes, or maybe a dojutsu, you'd never be able to notice him. Following this up, at the same time he's drawing his blade, he swiftly casts the Ram -> Rat -> Tiger -> Serpent hand seals, which results in his sword briefly glowing a more brilliant blue than before, and being much, much sharper. That, combined with his vastly increased speed and strength, makes it to where when he actually collides with the beast, it... doesn't even look like anything happened? Though it would be noted that once Blades began to fall, his descent was much slower than his ascent, meaning the thoroughly beaten monster makes a crash into the beach, sending a small wave of sand around itself. Only when the bikini clad individual touches the ground perfectly on his feat, and not affected by any of the g-forces he would have normally dealt with, does he clean his katana with what looks like his tongue, and sheathes the weapon. When it clicks, what was once a body now turned into cubed pieces of meat, bone dust, and a whole mess of scales.

Knowing what he just did probably was more overkill on top of overkill, he didn't try to even make himself out to be a badass as he walks back to the body of the once great demonic entity. Instead, he was silent, kneeling down at its corpse to collect two of its many scales, being careful not to hold it in a way that he'd prick himself. Stowing that away in his bra, he looks towards the rest of the group, once he can meet up with them again in any way, shape or form, for the final debriefing. After all, they probably weren't going to be seeing each other anymore. Looking towards them all, he put his arms behind his head, and smiles softly, deciding to speak his mind first if he gets the chance to. "That was... fun, to be honest. You're all spectacular! Though we may not team up again after this for obvious reasons... I'll cherish this for the rest of my life." Before he can turn around and leave, he remembered what he said to Baruga near the beginning of the mission, and he gasps at the realization, turning to her with a much wider smile now. "Still up for sunbathing together, princess? I'm still ready to hear your stories of thrilling aristocracy."

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Re: Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Wed Sep 07, 2022 7:34 am
All seeing and sparing no detail, the redhead is able to witness all that happens within one hundred meters. He had been able to see the blonde evade the shark and harm it with a well placed kunai, a tactic the redhead held close to his heart as one who specialized partially in weaponry and it’s utilitarianism, bringing back nostalgia from the times he had done as much, either to harm or to distract opponents. It was an underrated tool, an underrated mechanic in combat. It brought him some joy to see someone utilizing tools to this extent.

He had been able to see Rizuke stand amid the waves, fooling the furious fish into chasing an illusion, even though not ten minutes before he was scared of baiting a lesser beast with the three other team members assuring him of his security. To be able to lull the shark on a crow chase as this, where only the shark saw the prey, was something else, and quite the show to be able to witness.

Baruga, on her hand, mediated atop a soaring whale, likely focusing to acquire the needed energy to awaken a superior form of power; the red head had heard of such techniques, but to the best of his knowledge, he never had the opportunity to see if happen first hand. Now underwater, he had been able to see through the tumultuous waters to witness how Baruga dove beside him, taking her place by the Lord of the Hidden Cloud, eyes flashing with light, her skin marked in blue, showing she was not only the heiress to the Lightning Country’s rule, but to the domain of the oceans. It was an impressive sight to see.

Weaving seals as Noboru launched the shark into the air, the waters followed along the stirring of the redhead and proceeded to trap and elevate the shark further, as the whale billowed dark clouds all around, striking the shark repeatedly, peeling away the scales and searing the flesh underneath, driving the fish mad with pain and anger. However, the whirlwind threatened one person: Rizuke, still standing in the waters. Before he could come into danger, Noboru propelled himself from Baruga’s side, launching through the waters and homing in onto the Uchiha as a great projectile, and as he broke he waters he grabbed onto the youth, disabling his Byakugan, and holding him against his torso as his legs lifted in the air, a great arch between water and beach being completed until he finally landed on the sands with great force, which he did the best to absorb into his own musculature to prevent the youth from suffering great injury. Just in case, he wove a few seals of his own, and though the control of his chakra was barely above that of a basic genin, he managed to exert enough control so as to complete the Healing Hands technique, allowing his chakra to flow through the Uchiha to ensure any injuries or fractures he may have sustained in the fall to slowly mend. It wasn’t much, but it would allow him to walk the situation off.

It was then that he was able to turn around, the sun bathing his cold and damp skin, and witness as the shark, smoking and limp, flew through the sky, and below it, in wait, the blonde vampire bid his time to leap and meet the creature halfway, the sword in the bikini clad lad shining a blue hue, until a thousand cuts sealed the fate of the monster. A lesser person may have missed it, but decades of experience allowed Noboru to track the motions even without the aid of his legendary dojutsu – the Rinnegan, or even the Mangekyou Sharingan, of which so few people knew about, and fewer still knew Noboru had achieved the peak performance of the heritage of the Uchiha, some calling it theft and heresy, others calling it unethical power amassing. Noboru saw it in a different light. Power for power sake, power to protect his people, power to ensure a beach was safe from an indomitable force of nature. If his soul was the price to pay for the power to bend fate to his whim, and afford him the possibility of saving those he held dear, then so be it. He had already resigned himself to being a tool for the Lightning Country, and no condemnation would make him step back from his path. Some had gone as far as calling him a tool to the will of others, but that had been wrong too. For now, when he had the power to control his own fate, he remained as headstrong on his path as he had been before. Power for power sake. Power to keep his people safe. Power to inspire his people, to make them covet it, seek it, usurp it.

The power to commit the greatest sacrifice.

When the beast fell onto the sands, its body no longer supported itself, and it caved into cubes by the force and sharpness of Blades’ sword. As Blades landed, he looked at the lads and lass, nodding. “Well done, team. Hopefully, that was the last of it. If you two will stay around, then I hope you’ll keep an eye on the waters. As for this shark–”

It was then that some of the populace gathered around, tentatively at first, but getting closer and closer past the great Rashomon gates once they felt secure. They gawked at the cut beast, at the wet ninjas reflecting the sun off the salt water on their skins, at the bloody blades and sands. Noboru regarded them with care, these fragiles beings. However, as soon as a fisherman approached the beast and tried to grab at it, he grabbed his hand, carefully. The fisherman would be able to sense Nobo’s power just from this light grip, the power exerted by the Extreme Realm of Force likely sending vibrations and shocks through their arm and joints. “And what is it you think you’re doing?”

“Please, sir, this shark, it could feed us for weeks!” Noboru’s expression was unchanged. “And it will feed my team for a day. What’s your point?” The fisherman was confused. “It’s our kill. If you want it, you will pay for it.” The fisherman nodded. “Y-yes, sir. I will go grab my wallet, and we can d-discuss prices?” Noboru let go of the man. “Sure.” At least they could get paid for this.

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Empty Re: Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo

Giant Sharks II: Electric Boogaloo Forum-overhead
BURNING CITIES AND NAPALM SKIES

Still focusing on the shark's body above her, Baruga clenched her teeth and maintained her hurricane and lightning combo with Suizei. She only recently registered Rizuke's vulnerability in the corner of her eye, with the genin still susceptible to her own friendly fire. So much so, apparently, that it merited the Lord Raikage leaping from the ocean floor and yanking the Uchiha away from her attack, possibly putting himself in danger's way in the process.

Useless! Honestly, what use were teammates if they were just going to get in her bloody fucking way, all the time?! Perhaps becoming a kunoichi really was dismantling her humanity, but honestly, she was starting to see why, in ancient times, people were seen less as humans and more as tools. What use is somebody if they do nothing, or if they're just a unwitting obstacle in your path?

Growling in frustration, Baruga decided enough was enough, and figured that she could cancel her Great Vortex Technique. Blades' attack should have done the trick, along with her own impromptu combination. Besides, if she continued further, she would mangle any worthwhile organic material left on the shark; meat, scales, or so on.

Crossing her arms over one another, the whirling typhoon raising the ocean to the sky vanished, exploding outwards into harmless droplets. For a split second, a rainbow was fully visible under the sunny sky. At the same time, Suizei understood his cue, and cancelled his lightning storm attack, as well.

The ocean started receding back into place around her, and Baruga let the waves crash over her. Although for any other person they would be greatly harmed by the sudden weight of the water, or otherwise washed away along the ocean floor, Baruga stood firmly still on the seabed as the waters settled. Then, she pushed on her feet upwards and came rocketing up like a torpedo out of the water, cracking her neck with crossed arms.

Acknowledging her whale first as he floated next to her, she nodded.

"Wonderful job, Suizei, I'll be certain to give you your share of our catch. We'll be enjoying quite the exotic cut of sushi tonight; unless you would prefer sashimi?"

The blue orca snorted next to her, then she turned her attention to the rest of the party.

"Yes, I think I need a bit of relaxation after this. I'd love to go sunbathing with you, Blades, especially after your remarkable performance —"

And then, business.

"— After dealing with our village's finances. Lord Raikage, allow me to handle this while you return to your vacation. I don't want to impose on your free time more than I already have, and I assure you, this won't take nary but a moment. Now, then..."

Baruga turned a cruel eye to the fisherman, who immediately buckled in fear. Giving the fish a cursory look, she was immediately calculating local prices, bounties of similar size, labor cost, and quality of material. In short, if Noboru Kaito's bargaining abilities were scary, then Baruga Ryoinsatsu's bargaining abilities were the source of primordial fear in both commercial producers and consumers across the Elemental Nations.

"...Let's take a walk, Mr. Fisherman."

Mikadzuki Beach's residents would come to learn two things, that evening:

One, that the shark problem has been rectified.

Two, Baruga Ryoinsatsu always makes a profit.
