Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Team Ibari's First Mission

Thu Oct 08, 2020 10:51 pm
Mission Specs:

"I still can't believe that they assigned me a team...Me of all people. Well nothing could go wrong with this..I think," the Jounin mused to himself as he stood in the center of the village with a small scroll in his right hand. He had heard about the formation of a new team within the village and he was perplexed at first at him being established as the team lead, but with all of the recent promotions being handed down, it was time to get the others of the village to a higher standard. It felt weird to him that he was only given two ninja to lead, but with an even number meant he could split his attention between the two of them and thus bring them up evenly. He would have been the first one there obviously so he could look out for the both of them. He had been wearing his black hanfu with his trademark purple haori flowing over it. The fusion of two different styles felt right to him, but ordinarily he used the bottom attire as his anbu attire. Looking from left to right, his crimson eyes would take in the scenery of the town square as he hummed to himself in waiting.

He had hoped the timeframe he had given both of the shinobi was more than lenient so that they could finish whatever they needed to, but lateness would more than likely be met with a swift...kick to the face he guessed. With one or both of them had arrived, he would look over them both and from his left sleeve another scroll would pop out as he handed to the two of them," Hello there. My name is Ibari and as you've probably been told I am your team leader from today onward. If you don't already know I am a jounin of the village and I am originally from Konoha as well as a member of the Kaguya clan. If you two could give your names, ranks, clan and place of origin we can begin to go over what's in these scrolls," he would wait for a moment for the two to go through their introductions. After the two were done he would wait for them to open the scroll before briefly going over the contents," Our first exercise is a bodyguard mission that has been chosen for its difficulty and it will give us time to get to know your strengths and weaknesses. The client has been given proper notice that we will be meeting them at the hotel, and we will also be going through it to assess it for threats. With that being said let's move out. If you have any questions ask them while we are walking," with that he would begin to move toward the hotel that would be the place of their mission.

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Fri Oct 09, 2020 7:47 pm
Dressed in dark blue full body spandex that covered her lower face up past her nose Mikofujo would walk towards the meeting ground with a bit of apprehension. She would fidget with the black headband she had fastened onto her left bicep thanks to this to try and ground herself before the meeting occurred, normally she would fidget with her hair but the raven strands were tied back in a pony tail. It seemed that not only would she meet her new team tonight but they would no doubt also go on a mission knowing the efficiency of the village, Miko could guess that it would be of a higher difficulty than the ones she previously undertook. This was not only due to the increase in numbers, as her prior mission had been solo, but also, due to the fact that their leader was of a higher rank than her. While she did not have much information on her teammates that was one thing she was privy to the knowledge of.

Arriving at the scene the puppeteer would note her sensei was already there, and his presence was intimidating complete with crimson eyes that seemed to pierce through ones' soul. Well at least he would probably know quite a bit of information, hopefully this man would share it with her. Approaching her Miko would look up at the man with her emerald eyes as she accepted the scroll handed to her. While normally she would begin to read something she had been given, Ibari spoke introducing himself as from the Kaguya clan originally hailing from Konoha but now serving as a jounin and their teacher. Prompting her, or her and both ninja if the other team member arrived in a timely manner, to respond in kind the kunochi would speak in a soft but firm voice. "My name is Mikofujo Yamanka though I fear my parents did not teach me much of the techniques so I am working my way around them as best I can.. I am currently a genin as I wish to wait a bit before submitting for the test and assessment of the next level, and I am from a small place in the Wind Country."

Hoping that would suffice the odd eyed man she would refocus upon him before noticing he was waiting on something, looking down at the scroll she would mouth an 'oh' and begin reading. Listening and reviewing the scroll as her new teacher spoke the female Yamanka would nod as he finished. "Well in that case, I use weapons and puppetry for the indoors my other techniques are nullified even more and thus not worth mentioning for any sort of planning we can have for defending the client." When she spoke before the words had been a bit slow and hesitant in delivery as well as placating in tone, now however her words came with a certainty in her own skill set and possessed a lot more confidence in their delivery. While she probably would have more questions later for now the ninja figured she would ask them as they came up rather than scrape her brain for any.

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Tue Oct 13, 2020 12:25 am
"Guard duty? Piece of cake. And it's going to be for a wealthy business guy, so it's top-notch money too." Shin explained out loud. He was reading off the informative document that had been delivered earlier that morning. A couple of his gang members from the Lost Winds laughed. "Hell yeah. Are you doing it alone though?" One of the younger members added. Shin thought for a moment and then looked in the document for details on that. The team leader was going to be lead by someone named Ibari. "Nope, Looks like I've got a full team on this mission. This must be serious." Shin added, rolling the document back up and disposing of it properly. "I have to leave soon, so I'll catch you guys later." Shin leaves the group at that and takes off to meet with the members of his team. Shin was a good team player, so he wasn't worried about who his teammates would be.

Once he arrived there, He noticed Ibari and Mikujo, his other teammate, already there. Though he was last, he wasn't much far behind Miku's arrival. The leader would introduce himself first, telling them somethings about him. "If you don't already know I am a jounin of the village and I am originally from Konoha as well as a member of the Kaguya clan." Shin was surprised to hear that the jonin was from the same clan as him; they were relatives. It made Shin wonder if this jonin would be able to teach Shin more about his clan's techniques. Miku would go next. Shin had met her previously from a run-in at the market involving a missing ninja she was escorting.

Then it was Shin's turn to introduce himself. "Hi! My name is Shin Kenshin. I'm a chunin. I'm actually a descendant of the Kaguya clan too, I just have my father's family name. I'm from Suna and have been for my entire life." Shin smiled warmly, feeling included in this small group. He didn't get to share himself that often.

After Shin's introduction, Ibari would continue on the mission. He opened a scroll and reiterated the mission goal: guard the client. They had arranged a meeting spot at the hotel the client was staying at. Ibari would then move on to questions. Miku pointed out her fighting techniques as puppetry and weapons, leading Shin to do the same. "Oh, I'm a ninjutsu user, focusing on close combat mostly. I'm not the quickest, but I'm definitely the strongest." The Kaguya wasn't ashamed of his weaknesses, but it was nice for his teammates to know where they lay.

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Sun Oct 18, 2020 8:39 pm
Yamanaka? That was one of the three heads of Konoha at some point, at least to his remembrance. To see that they had spread out from their roots had definitely been something good, but one that did not know their heritage was...interesting for sure. A small nod was all that he gave to Miko before he had addressed her first," I have heard many things about your clan during my time in Konoha. We'll have to make sure we get you up to snuff regarding your clans....well unique way of fighting. While I do not know much about their techniques, i can see what I can do about getting you something to help with your growth," he at least knew that being a team leader meant also helping your students grow and he would do just that. His eyes would then go over to a member of his own clan and chuckle a bit as he shook his head," Shin huh? Well you are confident in that strength of yours huh? We will see if your claims are as apparent as you boast them to be," Ibari had allowed that to simmer in the air for a bit before turning on his heels and walking toward the hotel. The walk from what he had seen was relatively quiet though he had been looking around the area that they were walking through, mapping the little nuances and crevices toward the inn.

Once the team had arrived he would hold a hand up to the two of them," Wait here for a moment," and he had walked off toward the black carriage that had been parked three meters in front of them. As he arrived to it, two men stepped in front of him but quickly moved when a man barked an order to them. From their point of view it would be a simple exchange of words and pleasantries to the man inside, their target to protect. For Ibari however, the man had been sizing him up until Ibari spoke," I can guarantee you that I can take you and your two men here before either of them knew what hit them. Now please let us get this underway," the man of course would just nod and motion for his men to take their positions outside of the inn. Walking back over toward the two he would nod toward the inn and holding up a finger," Your first task. Sweep the upstairs and downstairs of the inn and note anything that stands out, might look suspicious or anything that you feel could be an issue. One of you will take the top. One will take the bottom. I will wait until you get back to bring the client in. Oh. Before i forget," he reached within the inner sanctum of his outfit and pull out two small devices," put these in your ear to communicate with the team. You have fifteen minutes to scope out the place and bonus points for securing the room before we come in. With that? Commence the mission!," he'd then walk over toward the carriage and remain beside it, listening as the client began rambling about something he didn't really care about.

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:48 pm
Mikofujo bowed in response to her sensei's promise of further training, while she was certainly developing her own style learning the actual clan techniques would seem to be important to her. The kunochi would then lean over to Shin and ask him in a low tone, after their teacher had finished speaking, "So how's it been?"

As soon as the hand went up the puppeteer halted her step recognizing the symbolism behind the gesture by itself before Ibari spoke aloud. Watching the exchange the ninja would find it filled with tiring posturing as most of those types of encounters went, Miko assumed the person in the carriage was the client due to the setting of the scene itself alone. Still, it looked like it went well enough and soon their team leader came back to give them instructions on how to complete the mission assigned to them. Listening intently the girl would accept the gift of the communication device and emotionlessly attach it to her ear allowing it to sit comfortably and pick up her voice at the same time. "I'll take the bottom, in hotels like these it's often more cramped on the upper floors and I enjoy my ability to move about and not get stuck in a hallway" justifying her choice Mikofujo would begin to move towards the hotel and unless stopped would enter the main doors in order to survey the complex's first floor.

Inside she would scope out the main entryway, it was an open floor planned room with a ceiling that lifted into the second floor of the building, the main staircase would be more of Shin's domain so she did not spend much time in examination instead spending her time as she moved looking about the seating and front desk in the room. It seemed that at the moment nobody was around for their inspection, the puppeteer was guessing she would see the employees in a backroom no doubt informed of what would be happening by one or both of those besuited boasting gentlemen outside. This allowed her to focus on the physical space and map it out, so far it did not seem out of the ordinary and instead looked like the best way to confront any would be assailants for herself.

Moving on she would inspect the indoor sauna and pool next, which like the entryway, was devoid of people. Miko would confirm her assumption after she left that area and headed into the wing where there were rooms on the first floor where she could hear people inside their rooms. Down the hall there were only three rooms of public use to be inspected, as long as the client did not plan on having one of the smaller first floor rooms none of the private rooms needed her to bust into but rather needed her eye for people leaving. Withdrawing her katana Miko would poke up into the ceiling to confirm that the air ducts in the building were indeed too small to fit through. Sheathing it again she would ignore the ceiling debris that had fallen on her and the floor in this endeavor and simply continue on to the three rooms. First would be the employee lounge which was semi-public, inside there were five people whom the Yamanka asked a few probing questions as she stood in the doorway. Looking around the room and noting it seemed pretty sealed from the outside and plain, unable to hide much, Mikofujo stored the room as cleared for now. With her questions answered satisfactorily, she thanked the employee's for their time and moved into the next room.

This room was the male restroom and inside Yamanka found something that baffled her so intensely that she broke her radio silence, "Hey, there's a suspicious looking hole in the side of one of the men's stalls down here on the first floor. What do you guys think it could be?"

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Sun Oct 25, 2020 10:56 pm
Shin grinned with pride as Ibari, the team leader, said that he hoped that he could size up to his expectations. Shin was confident that he could show his skills to him, though Shin knew that he needed some improvements. Shin continued to grin as Ibari would leave to go talk to the client in his black carriage. Shin could tell there was a conversation going on between the guards and the team leader but he couldn't make out every word. Miko would lean over to Shin and ask him how he's been. They had met previously in the town market, so there wasn't much new. "Eh, It's been kind of quiet in my life. Making mad cash with this mission though." All his previous mission had been much lower rank than this one, so it was certainly a step up. He thought that with this paycheck, he might go out and get some more ninja equipment.

Ibari came from his conversation back to Shin and Miko. He explained that the two would have to scope out the inn before the client would be allowed in. Shin looked at the inn. It was a large two-story luxurious inn. One of them would have to check the basement and the other would have to check the upstairs. Before Shin could say his choice, Miko claimed the basement. Shin smiled, "Good thing, I was going to pick the upstairs." He would head inside with Miko, placing the earpiece that he got from Ibari in his ear. It would allow them to communicate in real-time with each other.

Once the two shinobi entered the inn, they were greeted with a very large main room. It was an open area, so thorough investigation would be a lot easier. The stairs that lead to the rooms upstairs were laid with red carpet. Shin figured it was so the inn made every guest feel like a VIP. The way people stroked the riches ego made Shin sick. Windows that were used to light the main room were large and allowed for a very open outside view. It would be foolish for an assassin or thief to try attacking from there. Non the less, Shin inspected it corner to corner while Mikofujo went into the basement. Everything seemed sound there. Then he would move onto the upstairs room where the client would be staying.

Climbing up the stairs, Shin noticed how golden everything looked from the walls to every corner. Further proving his thought about this place marketing to the rich. Once reaching the second floor, he stared down both sides of the hallway. They were very well lit despite them only having two windows on both ends of the hallway. He would quickly push to talk on the earpiece, "What room is the client staying in?" Once getting a response, he would follow where the indicators on the wall showed which room number was his. Shin knew that he would have to inspect every room but he figured he would start in the main room.

After inspecting the outside hallway and finding nothing, he would enter the main room. It was very bright with fresh white on the walls and a large window facing into the room. There was a large king-sized bed in the center against the wall with all its blankets folded and sheets tightly tucked in. Shin had never seen such a fancy looking room in Suna before. The Kaguya would place his hand on the mattress. It was incredibly soft! The mattress would slowly rise back up after he moved his hand.  Shin was shocked that people don't just sleep when they get here. He certainly would. He would finish inspecting the room.

Finding nothing out of place in his room, he would head to the adjacent rooms on the floor. They all looked the same as the one he just inspected. As he was inspecting the room for anything, Mikofujo would come on in his ear. "Hey, there's a suspicious looking hole in the side of one of the men's stalls down here on the first floor. What do you guys think it could be?" Shin fluster for a moment; his imagination got the best of him. He knew of some inappropriate activity that involved holes in bathroom stalls, especially in bars. But he never thought a place like this would have that. "U-uh, How large is the hole?" Shin responded, his voice shaking with embarrassment.

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Mon Nov 02, 2020 1:36 pm
Once the two had entered the hotel, he would monitor them not with his eyes but with one of his favorite jutsu. Making the hand seals in rapid succession he would begin to see the entirety of the inn and several other buildings all at once. This was his way of keeping track of what his two new students were doing while simultaneously keeping a track on the comings and goings outside of the cart. Once inside of the cart he began to stare out of the window into the sky as he listened to their client mutter on and on about his business and their practice. One of the best things that Ibari enjoyed about being a ninja was that he didn't have to live the day to day of a regular civilian. None of the immediate need to build an empire based on stealing the money of others...though in a sense a ninja's duty was eerily similar to that. In a sense it also wasn't but he wasn't about to have a philosophical debate with himself because of this man. When Shin finally broke the radio silence, Ibari would recline back further crossing one leg up on the other as he propped them on the opposite side of him," Room 302. Its the most luxurious room this inn has. No money was spared for this guy," the last bit of course caused him to cringe a bit. All of that money and he spent it on such a room...the money could have went to other people for crying out loud!

When the radio's went silent once more, Ibari paid attention to the picture of the surrounding area that Ibari's Mind Eye had been painting for him. Everything had been going good so far which worried him. Nothing ever went good for long, but this was a learning experience for the two so he let it slide for a moment. The crackling of static woke him up from his mental scouting and the reason why caused his entire body to shift, making him fall out of the cart," You found what?!," it didn't take him long to realize what she had been talking about and after clearing his throat he would dust himself off," Alright so here's what is going to happen...WE are going to forget that hole exists and I will explain when we are NOT on a mission understood? If both of your area's are clear and nothing else stands out we'll be pushing in the client in ten minutes. Go ahead and set up what you need for the night alright...and stay away from that hole," with a small sigh he would wait for them before bringing the man in.

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Tue Dec 01, 2020 11:00 am
Things seemed to be falling apart somewhat at the seams which made Ibari wonder how this mission was going to go. With his enhanced vision he witnessed Miku get sucked into the mysterious hole that she had found in the bathroom without a trace left. Whatever she had found she had offended or made upset and it took her...magical. Then there was a second person trying to stalk the area that was trying to stay hidden and failed...that was a curious choice. This only left Ibari, Shin and this other person. Great. Opening the cart, he would escort the client in notifying Shin as he walked in," Meet us at the client's room. Looks like its just me, you and this weird fellow outside taking over this mission. By the way don't go near that hole Miku found...it took them. Literally," with that he would walk with the talkative client to the room where he would let them in and his position was inside of the room. He would instruct Shin to remain outside to guard the door so that one was in, one was out and the bodyguards took the entrance and the exit. Sitting down near the window, Ibari would peer out and sigh to himself as he began humming to himself. The afternoon slowly begun to turn to night as food was brought in for the client, Ibari and Shin. At first Ibari was going to eat before holding a hand up and testing the food first. If something was wrong with it the effects would hit him first. Luckily this was regular food and the only thing he'd have after this was an upset stomach. Motioning to the others to partake, he would take his position back by the window as he looked outward, not anticipating anything....no he was right that something would happen in the thickest of darkness and he'd be ready.

Team Ibari's First Mission Empty Re: Team Ibari's First Mission

Wed Dec 02, 2020 2:32 pm
Ibari seemed to also know what the hole in the men's stall could be. He explained that they would try to forget the hole in the stall and continue with the mission. "Agreed," Shin said, wiping the sweat from his brow. He was not down to talk about something like that with his sensei that he had JUST met. He never had to talk to his parents about the birds and bees due to them passing before puberty. He was not about to share that experience now.

Shin noticed the radio silence from Miku. After checking all of the upstairs, he would go downstairs to where Miku last reported in. He pulled out his kunai, prepared for anything. He busted open the door of the bathroom to find no one in there. "Miku? Are you down here?" He called out. He opened each stall door to check for any Miku corpse. Nothing. Even the hole she reported wasn't down there. "The basement is clear." He would tell Ibari on the radio. It was like she had been snatched up magically by this hole. Shin quickly exited the bathroom and into the main hall. He wasn't about to become its next victim.

Ibari called for him to report back to the room where the client would be staying. They would be posting guards outside his residence for the night. He would meet up with his sensei and his new teammate who had arrived late. Ibari, Shin, and the client had gotten their dinner delivered to them. He would eat his food after Ibari tested the client's food for poison. Nothing. This entire Mission seemed to be nothing other than Miku's disappearance. Shin's spine tingled thinking that he and the rest of his respected team were being used as nothing but mere servants. He hated every minute of the night passing by.
