Skills are unique traits shinobi learn through experience and training, the most common being advanced senses or greater proficiency in a field of jutsu. They're meant to supply a character with an orthodox set of abilities that typically are not seen within the Shinobi world. Shinobi are allowed to have at maximum, five skills.  To train a skill, one must do at minimum 2,000 words of training to use it; the number may increase depending on the skill potency.  All skills must be kept basic; we will not allow you to register a skill that boosts all jutsu power by hundreds of points, regardless of a large wordcount used to awaken the skill.  Skills do not have a rank but should be made with common sense for potency. After the five skills, you can replace ones you have learned due to them only being trained arts, but for every skill you replace, there will be an additional 1,000 words required to train the skill.

-Know the difference between skills and jutsu; if you have to do hand signs, and it does its own effect, then it's a jutsu.

-Skills cannot buff main stats, substats, or provide any true numerical buffs to characters.

-Skills cannot add debuff effects

-Skills cannot be used to amplify jutsu.

-A skill is limited to only one ability; certain branch aspects can be added should the staff allow it.  IE; A skill that increases your sense of smell can, in turn, also allow you the ability to memorize and track scents similar to chakra sensory since it makes sense for them to go hand in hand.

-Skills cannot lower the action cost of jutsu.

-Skills cannot give a clan specialty to a clanless character. This includes the Hiden clans.

-Skills may not reduce the word count needed to learn a technique.

-Skills cannot lower the handseals of jutsu.
