Valen would be waiting for Damon to come back when a very sudden gust of wind would blow a wadded up piece of paper onto their desk. He’d raise an eyebrow in confusion as he turned to look at the source of both it and the chakra flare he felt. He recognized it..Hikari? He eyed her walking away and raised an eyebrow in confusion as she didn’t even say anything to them. It was confusing to him but if she didn’t want to be noticed or spoken to then he wouldn’t force it. He would however reach over and take the wadded up piece of paper and unwad it. He’d read through it at a quick pace thanks to his still very much activated eyes and smile softly. The girl had helped them, he owed her another lunch or dinner for this one in his eyes. He knew she had completed her chunin exam quite a while ago so there’d be no reason for her to possess the note on the subject. He’d quickly take down anything he might need, fighting the minor headache from the handwriting (font...hurts….eyes…) and proceed to finish up his report with that. Damon still hadn’t come back but he simply left the note on the table on top of the boys book with his own addendum that merely read ‘Finished my report, Hikari happened by and ‘sneakily’ gave us an assist. Went to turn it in.’ He would write before packing up his report and going to the kage’s office to turn in the report for a chance at promotion.

What a sudden and unforeseen turn of events! Damon had returned to the room, only to find Valen holding a rather odd note. With this new note that had floated to Valen, he was easily able to finish given the Uchiha’s own notes as well as the newfound slip of paper from Hikari. Valen had even turned in the report from them both, saving his fellow genin a trip to the Hogokage’s office. Damon had actually thought that he sensed the presence of Hikari, but when he looked around, she was nowhere to be seen. “Thank you,” he said aloud, although no one was left behind to hear him.
