Mission:

Li Dian leaned up against a tall fruit tree just at the edge of the jungle. He was perfectly on time for the Arrival of their charge. Li's stomach churned a bit as he waited. He'd only just become a ninja, and now he was placed in charge of he safety of someone who's title meant Very Important.

He didn't like it. especially since he wasn't really equipped for it. All of his equipment, and puppets were still in his workshop. What a blunder. Coco had assured him that it wouldn't be a problem, and that she just needed someone to watch her back, but He wasn't to confident that, that someone was him.

As the rain trickled down the canopy of the forest he sighed, and straightened himself up. He could hear Coco coming in through the foliage of the jungle, and didn't want her to see him slacking off

There was probably no other location on earth that Coco hated so much as the Jungle. It was sticky, hot, and way more wet than anywhere else in Amegakure. In fact it sometimes felt like it was raining in every direction when you where in the foliage. Her umbrellas had almost no effect it seemed. The rain would come down, hit a leaf and bounce back up hitting you squarely in the chin. There was no defense against it.

Her face was absolutely red with frustration. She was so frustrated she began hacking through the underbrush with her kunai, clearing her way. It only served to make her more sweaty, but she didn't care.

When she finally saw Li Dian in the clearing she made her to  cover her lower face with a scarf. There was no way she was going to let her new team mate see her like this.

"Thank for coming." She announced, slightly muffled by her scarf.

"It's about time you got here." That wasn't Li's Voice. From the other side of Li's tree came a man in a rather silky looking robe, with a thin pencil moutache. The engineering associate they'd been sent to guard, Coco Surmised. Since she found the plans to the old Hydro electric dam the village decided on trying to get it back and running. This guy would be in charge of the engineering effort. It didn't look like Coco made a very good impression.

"Why didn't you tell me, he was already here?" She growled to Li Dian.

Li Dian Simply shrugged. "Master Ma Chao, may we begin? It'll be night time soon."

"Of course." The man sniffed moving forward. He gave the surrounding foliage a disgusted look. "Is there not a trail we could travel?" 

Li simply smiled. "It wouldn't be much of a jungle, if we had a road going through it." He rolled down the sleeves of his jacket. "But don't you  worry Sir, you've got two ninjas of the Rain leading you! We were practically raised in this place. We're the next best thing to having a road."

With that the group set off further into the forest. Weary of any threats that could pop up.

Hiding atop the vast trees in the jungle the bandits waited, perched looking down anticipating the route their target would take. They had been sent by a unknown organization to snuff out the business rep before he was able to finish his quest. Eyeing the male and the two ninja that seemed to be guarding him two of the bandits smiled before sliding down the trees lined with vines till they got to the ground. As they did this the other two bandits started making their way around using the dense forest as cover from being seen.

"Ey little kids, we'll be taking that rep off your hands. Run along now and don't look back."

The two bandits smiled at each other while laughing slowly closing the distance between them and their prize, the distance being 15 meters. As they did this the other bandits got closer from the side lines but still stayed out of sight till the time was right.

With a gleam in her eye Coco pulled out three kunai from her pocket. She eyed her ambusher's slow approach carefully. She tossed one kunai to Li who was an idiot and didn't bring any equipment. "You boys hang back, and keep yourselves safter. This is a woman's job."

She stood between the two assailants, and their target. She held both blades aloft in the air before igniting them with her chakra. Covering them in sharp veils. It was a little showy, and she wouldn't be able to hold it for long, but she only needed a single attack.

"Now let me show you why Wei is the next great clan of this land!"  With a burst of speed she launched herself at the bandits. Her enhanced kunai were aimed squarely at both of her opponents' stomachs.  At a speed of 25 she'd gut them like fish. (This is of course assuming they're within a close proximity of one another.)

Li Dian just barely managed to snatch the knife out of the air. His hands were trembling. He held his kunai close to his chest ready to strike anyone who got too close. With his open hand he formed Chakra strings connecting to the VIP. A quick tug would get the man out of trouble with relative ease. Sure he'd going tumbling through the mud on the way, but that was worth his life right?

He scanned the tree line, weary of threats. His heart was pounding. What if there was more? He wasn't prepared. He hadn't trained, he didn't even have weapons. He was useless. He held his kunai closely, to his chest. His knuckles where white. He just had to survive, Long enough for Ma Chao to survive. Long enough for Coco to save them.

Both of the bandits that were slowly walking towards the group let a smirk cross their faces as they noted the girl charging to close the rest of the distance of five meters.

"Looks like it's time to get serious ey bro/ I guess you're right."

Though the girl was faster than they both were, they had the benefit of not being brain dead fish. The very straight forward attack in a linear line left enough room for both of the bandits to side step, pivoting their bodies outwards letting the girl pass in between them just as she would have reached striking distance. As she would be in the middle of both of them the bandit on the right would kick out with his leg at her lower leg attempting to put her off her center of balance. This more than likely going through due to her forward motion the other bandit would kick up with his leg to catch the girl with his leg to her face as she would fall forward.

At this time one of the bandits that had gotten close to the target through the brush line would lunge out of the bushes running torwards the VIP's with his arms ready to grab and break their necks.

Crap! Ma Chao was standing shock still, trembling as all of this was going on. Far too frightened to even thing about moving.

Li Dian wasn't much better off. Seeing the shock of flesh leap from the bushes Li Dian tugged as hard as he could upon his chakra stings, sending Ma Chao stumbling to the ground. "Get down!" He shouted. It'd bought him seconds at the most. The bandit was right over The VIP now!


Disconnecting his chakra strings Li Dian readied himself. Connecting a string to his kunai he sent it flying at them man. (50 speed) If it was dodged, he'd tug it back hoping to slice the man with the recoil. Along with knife he sent nine other indigo strings flying in it's wake. Li hoped that if the man focused on the thrown knife he'd get caught up in the strings. They weren't targeted at anything on his body specifically, it was a scatter shot of sorts. Li knew he wouldn't be able to over power the man with his strings alone, but they surely make fighting, if not killing a lot harder. (Unless of course the +20 they grant to a puppet's strength could be applied in such a manner?)

(Also while we're here, would Chakra Threads move at throwing speed or, the user's chakra +20 like a puppet?)

(the +20 is only for puppets and the threads move at just your chakra stat when used on anything that isn't your puppet.)

[But the Brain Dead Fish gang is known to stalk these parts of the jungle.]

As the two bandits launched their attack Coco disappeared in a poof of white smoke, and in her place a log with an explosive tag appeared.

From high up in a near by tree a cute chortle could be hear. "We'll boys it's been a blast." With that she formed the tiger seal, causing the log to explode taking the bandits, or at least their legs along with it. (Or should I say A-log with it.) She cringed at the gore that would insure. "Keep it together."

From her perched she readied her two Kunai, ready to strike her next targets. She focused in or Li Dian's current battle. Though her eyes were still being drawn to the grisly scene she'd just caused. Surely there was a better way than that. A cleaner way, they could even be alive after that. Just barley living on in some mutilated form. It was hardly the way of a doctor's daughter.

She shook herself "Focus."

She held her kunai, ready to throw them in a moment's notice. Anyone approaching the VIP was dead. two enhanced Kunai at a heady speed of 73 would see to that.
