Itami's genin exam

Itami opened the academy door and stepped in. Today was the day he was set to take the genin exams. He looked around and noticed quite a lot of other academy students nervously waiting for the exam to begin. Itami smirked and stepped on. He wasn't nervous at all. He's been training super hard and he was a hundred percent sure he was going to pass. If anything, he felt excited. He couldn't wait to be a genin and start learning some interesting jutsu and get his own team.
Sliding down the wall and sitting on the floor, Itami waited for the proctor to come and unlock the door of the room where the exams were scheduled to be. Others around him were either talking or anxiously repeating what they have learned in the past few years. Itami simply observed them, wondering how many were going to pass.

The proctor to the exams walked through the classroom and sat down at the desk, unlocking the door and letting the students in. As he sat down he casually went down the list of names that he had to test, either giving them a passing or failing grade. After a few names were given he came across Itami's, pointing at him and ushering him to go stand a few feet away from the desk. If he did so then the proctor would give him his test.

When the proctor arrived and ushered them in, Itami was one of the first to enter the classroom. He casually walked among the rows, looking for a seat that was surrounded by the least students. He sat down in the back row, alone, and observed the other academy students who were shakily waiting for their turns. Some of the more confident ones were bragging to their friends and to Itami's annoyance, one of those sat very close to him.

As the minutes ticked by, Itami watched the first seven taking the exam before him. Most of them were doing well but there were a few who had some troubles. He imagined in his head the two possible scenarios. One: he manages to do everything alright and he passes. Two: he somehow magically screws up and fails. He started mentally convincing himself that only scenario one was plausible and that failure was not an option.

None of Itami's friends were here today, but Itami didn't mind. At least he could focuse and have no one bother him. He always prefered to be alone before something important like this happened. It gave him time to mentally prepare himself.
After a few of students were finished, the proctor pointed at Itami and called him in front of the desk. Itami got up and rolled the sleeves of his jacket up, as was his habit. With a calm and serious expression on his face, he moved over to the desk so he was standing a bit away from it. He didn't feel good with all those eyes on him. He was confident in his abilities but that was not the point. Being in the center of attention just wasn't something he enjoyed. Trying to focuse, he looked at the proctor expectantly.

The jounin explained what he had to do quickly, and the room grew quiet. Having been given his instructions, Itami breathed in and closed his eyes for a brief moment to focus. He forgot about the other academy students in the classroom, he even forgot about the proctor for a little bit. All he focused on, was his chakra and his mind.

What was required to pass this exam, was something Itami mastered a while ago, due to his persistant training and his determination to not give up until success was reached. He remembered all those lone hours in the forest, repeating the same exercise over and over again, until he was satisfied with the progress. He also remembered the last time he performed those two jutsu. They were both done perfectly and he was glad this was the requirement for becoming a genin.
Opening his eyes again, he lifted his arms and smirked. He decided to start with the clone tehnique. Guiding his chakra to his arms and fingers, he did the necessary hand signs and murmured "clone jutsu".

Whit a poof, two exact replicas of Itami appeared next to him. Not being sure if one or two were required, Itami decided on two, just to be safe and to maybe earn some extra points.
He looked at his left where his illusions were standing. The first fake Itami was grinning proudly and looking at the class. The second had his arms crossed and was staring at the proctor, his expression indifferent and serious, his lips a thin line. The real Itami looked over at the proctor himself, to see what he thought, but he couldn't get anything from his face.

A second later, Itami made his clones dissapear. Licking his dry lips he looked down at the floor. He thought he did good for his first task and he hoped the jounin thought so too. Despite being sure in himself, Itami's mind was prickled by a slight moment of fear due to the proctor not responding positively or at all for that matter.

Deciding to dismiss the thought and rather focuse on his second task, Itami breathed in again, to calm himself. Realizing he had to transform into the man before him, he looked over at him again, this time not letting his expression shake his usually rock hard confidence.
Once he was sure he remembered even the smallest details - counting even all the visible scars - Itami formed the hand seals and said a little louder than before: "transform".

In a puff of smoke, he became the spitting image of the proctor, from his eye colour to his outfit. He even tried to copy his expression which wasn't a requirement. He didn't feel bad when he couldn't quite catch the essence of the teachers face. What was important was that he performed the transformation jutsu perfectly. He stood there for a minute and then transformed back into himself, casually running a hand through his now white locks, to get them out of his eyes. He straightened his jacket and put his hands in his pockets. Biting his lip excitedly, he stared at the calm proctor and said: "how did I do?"
