We are undone by the blood

His words didn't fal on deaf ears, or so it seemed. Her beautiful voice returned to it's normal timbre and he felt somewhat calmed by her presence again. She felt something come back to their relationship. He had prayed that her rage had calmed and he could finally breathe again with her before her. He didn't pick up his head, he stayed in his position, not daring meet her eyes in her current state. She would begin to speak, but she would stop for a moment. His name on her lips sounded like sweet honey again, and he breathed deeply once again.

She spoke that they shouldn't speak on this right now, because she was still recovering from the blow that he had landed on her. She would tell him that he was right, that they shouldn't have had this spar when they did, but he didn't feel like he was right about anything. He felt like he had done nothing but wrong to her, and he felt terrible. She would speak that she needed space and he began to walk away. It was then that he would pick himself up and look to her as she walked away.

She turned back around, and offered for them to meet at the bar, so they could talk about it more then. She said that she would forgive him no matter what he did to her, but he didn't feel like he could ever bare making her feel so poorly again. Something ignited within his body, and he knew that his whole life's mission was to protect this beautiful woman from the horrid things he and others could ever do to her.

But the next words from her mouth would cause his jaw to drop to the floor and his body to go into shock. But before he had the chance to react, she would walk away, just after confessing that she loved him. When she turned away and ran, he wouldn't move, he couldn't move. "You... You love me?" He would speak to her, but she was far away by this time. Suddenly everything made sense. Suddenly all the pain in his life was worth it. He couldn't feel the pain any longer, he couldn't feel anything for that matter. He was completely numb to the world, and he could only hear her words repeat in his mind again and again, repeating themselves.

"She loves me? But... But why?" His mind was enraptured by her words. He couldn't believe that someone as lowly as himself could ever draw the eye, let alone the heart of someone so pure and beautiful. His hands became extensions of his arms, but truly not something that he felt was truly his. His body was merely existing on this plane, but he didn't control them. He shook, vibrated at the thoughts of her loving him. Suddenly, he could envision his entire life with her.

He thought of every moment that they had been together, every time he had held her in the village, carried her from place to place. He couldn't believe he didn't see it sooner. He felt quite ridiculous when he began thinking about it. After a while, and during plenty of odd stares at the blood crazed fiend passing, he rose to his feet. His tears now dried on his face thanks to the chilly wind that blew through the training grounds. He gathered his sword, threw it over his shoulder, and walked to a place he hadn't been in what felt like ages, his own home.

It was a sad walk back to his home, he realized that he enjoyed her constant company that he had been having with her the passed few days. The warmth of her arm wrapped around his, the sound of her breathing echoing in his mind, the sight of her blood as he activated his eyes when he believed she wasn't looking. It just seemed that everything about her was perfect, and he couldn't believe that he was so foolish to almost have her slip through his fingers.

He was still bouncing back from the idea that she loved him, and for so long! Imagine the life he would have had if he had realized it sooner. He continued thinking about her sweet scent, and her perfect everything as he tried to rest that night, but his excitement for their next meeting was something that he couldn't quite calm himself enough to wait patiently for.
