Work in the Land of Tea Empty Work in the Land of Tea

Fri Feb 16, 2024 9:04 pm
Mission 1, Mission 2, Mission 3

Travin woke in the land of tea inside of a small inn of a small village. Where the work was starting to dry up and he was debating on where to head to next. There were more villages within the land of tea and he was probably going to be heading to one of them next. After all, he hadn't been here for long at all, and felt it would be a waste to leave this land before he had taken it for all the money it could give him. For instance the job he had taken against his better judgment was to kidnap a pet of all things. Not to kill the blacksmith, or steal important documents from town hall to hide the tax evasion from the village. It was a simple theft of a pet. Walking out of the Inn he had a few other things he was planning on getting done today as well to try and get a bit more money to make it to the next village. Nothing of note however but he would get them done more basic jobs, but the pay was still good enough to get him out of here.

Travin would turn the corner once more and lit up a cigarette. Walking down the street from the Inn and finding the location of the dog. It wasn’t too hard to find since the village wasn’t all that big to start with. He came up to a decently large wooden house with real wood logs for siding, and a very nice picket fence wrapped around the front of the house. The dogs are still puppies running around and playing in the front of the house. While the opposed owners were in the house getting ready for lunch. Travin figured that this would be about as easy of a job as he had thought from the beginning. Flicking his cigarette between his bird finger and thumb away from him. Travin would turn around and walk back down the street a little ways. There was a market and he had seen them throwing out boxes that they used to haul the milk in. Walking in and over to the lunch meeting area Travin would grab a back of bologna and go up front and pay for it before grabbing one of the boxes as he walked out.

Returning to the building and standing next to a nearby tree at the corner of the fence. Travin would light up one more smoke and sit the box down near the fence. Making sure he had eyes on the so-called owners of the puppies, seeing them turn and walk out of the kitchen from the kitchen window. Travin would start to drop pieces of the bologna near the fence and attract the attention of a few of the puppies. Finishing his cigarette and flicking it away after going through the entire pack of bologna, Travin would simply reach over the fence and grab one of the all too willing by now puppies and place it in the box. Picking the box up Travin would make his way to the bakery walking to the back of the door and laying the box down next to the back door. Looking up he saw the head and arm of someone pop out and drop the bag of ryo down. Catching the bag before he turned and walked away Travin would start to think about the last two jobs he had lined up before getting out of this small little village.

The next two things he needed to knock out before he left today were also fairly simple. He needed to burn down a farm house that was selling drugs, and the local drug lord didn’t like it. Pretty basic and quick job to pull off, and the more important of the two left was to go back to the abandoned bathhouse he had been using to keep and plan all his local activities. He had known the former owner before he was killed and had worked with him a few times. Once the man had died and no one stood to take over his bathhouse Travin moved in and set up shop. He would probably deal with that first and then burn the barn house down one his way out of the village simply to maximize his time spent. Walking back to the bathhouse after all, the bathhouse was near the center of town offering him a solid escape from any direction he needed to go. However, due to a lack of thinking he wasn’t really keeping it that clean and wasn’t planning on staying there for long either. Apparently some flies had started to show up.

Returning to the bathhouse Travin opened the door and walked in. He noticed the smell now that someone had pointed it out. He walked through the place and started to gather his stuff. Picking up the random objects that would point to him as well as anything left over from his former jobs that he had been doing with his old friend before he had passed away. Travin decided to start by simply picking up where he had been working, stacking all the papers inside of the fireplace, and starting a fire before returning to grab more papers and adding them to the fire. He remembered that his friend had some stuff hidden somewhere inside of a safe. He didn’t know what it was, but he knew that there was a chance that it had something to do with him. With the rest of the place cleaned out of anything to do with him he had to find the safe. After a few hours of looking he finally came across it buried under the floorboards. Wrenching the thing out of the hole Travin sat it to the side and tried to open it. Sadly the thing was locked as he was afraid of, but he did remember seeing a key laying around here. Looking around and checking the desk he found it. A golden key that slid right into the hole and turned. Opening the safe Travin laid his eyes upon a few documents with his name on it, but the big thing was a bag of ryo that magically disappeared into Travins pocket. Walking back over to the fire and tossing the papers into it. He had done everything that could be found that could tie him to this place and was gone now burned to ash.

Making sure that no one was watching the door as he left with the sun going down. Travin made his way out of the village with only one stop left on his village exit. Travin started to make his way to the barn house on the edge of the village. Finding his way in the right direction was not very difficult as there was only one barn house in the village. Walking up to the top of the hill where he can get a good look at the barn house. Travin was able to see that there was only one guard on duty at the time. Probably because of how late it was at night now. Travin watched for a few minutes as he wanted to make sure that there was no one else watching over the barn house with the one guy. After he was sure that no one else was there Travin made his way to the back of the barn house and walked in. The few lights that were on didn’t light the place up enough for him to be easily seen.

The inside of the barn house was full of bales of hay and some flammable liquids that they were probably using to make the drugs with. Travin walked over to the flammable liquids and took down one of the lanterns and sat it down on the ground with some of the hay bales. Walking out to the front of the barn house Travin took the shovel from the walls and slammed it into the back of the guy's head. Dragging his body away from the barn house since the contract stated that they didn’t want anyone to be killed. Once he had the body far enough away from Travin returned to the barn house and tossed another lantern into the one that he laid down on the ground. Travin watched for a few minutes as the fire caught and erupted the jugs into a fire storm around the corner. Once he was sure that the fire had completely caught and that the building would in fact be burnt down. Travin walked back out the way he came, pulling out a cigarette and standing up at the top of the hill and leaning against the tree standing at the top. Travin smoked and watched the fire burn until the building was half burnt down. Knowing that the job was done Travin turned and left the area. All he had to do was grab the money on the way out. It was supposed to be waiting for him with a guy at the corner on the way out of town. It was time to move on to the next place and hopefully a better small village than this one had been.
