The Rise of Medic's [Hikari] - Page 2 Empty Re: The Rise of Medic's [Hikari]

Sun Jan 09, 2022 6:30 am
Mikaela gave Hikari a warm smile and congratulated him on a good job. This was the boost he needed to continue working the medical ninjutsu that she taught him. He listened to him as she described the next jutsu that she would be teaching him and then performed it for him. The chakra around the Hikari'sHikari's hands even looked to be sharp. There were no round edges like he was used to when he had done the other technique. There was no flowing motion to it. It looked sharp and hard. Without a second thought, Mikaela looked at her as she began to cut open the dummy on the table. She didn't even have to touch it for the cuts within the fibers. Mikaela looked at it with amazement and then looked up to the elder medic.

He placed his hands together, and the metal glistened as now it was his turn to try and perform the advanced technique. He made the Tiger → Horse → Rabbit → Rat → Dog seals while he pooled chakra into his hands. He could feel the chakra around his hands starting to harden, but it didn't look like what Hikari's had. "Too thick, Mikaela. Like with chakra flow, smooth it out and imagine a thin blade that is sharp enough to cut through anything." Mikaela said to himself as he concentrated on the thought of his using his chakra flow techniques from basic wood-style training. He'd begin to flatten out the chakra as if using a rolling pin mentally. Thinking that he had flattened it enough, Mikaela focused on the rubber dummy on the table. Holding his hands before him, he'd quickly move his fingers down over the outside of the inanimate object without touching it. Mikaela watched the skin almost ripple, but that was just about it. There was no cut. Not even the outside had been sliced. Pressing his lips together, he'd disperse the chakra from his hands and look over the dummy more. He was hoping to see at least a minor cut on the body. But alas, there was nothing.

Mikaela sighed and stood up, walking over to the counter, picking up the book, and began to look over it and study the script on the parchment with careful scrutinization. There had to be something that he had been missing. Some detail that the elder medic had overlooked. Pressing his lips together and to the side slightly, he studied the writing with careful eyes. It was all straightforward. Form the seals, focus on the chakra, and cut. It should have been so easy to do with everything he had been able to do. But this one had escaped him.

Placing the book back down on the counter, he had once more walked over to the dummy. He went through the five hand seals Tiger → Horse → Rabbit → Rat → Dog with careful precision. This time, he had felt something that he hadn't the other few times. There was a different feel to the chakra this time. It was more solid. Like he could touch it against the table, and he would hear a clanking sound. However, when he had, the chakra around his fingertips vanished, and he, in turn, took a deep breath and let it out slowly. What was it about this one technique that had him baffled? He started pushing that chakra back around the end of his fingers and concentrating on it a moment before he started bringing his hand down to the skin of the dummy. It should have moved with the chakra that had been pooling around his fingers, but once more, it didn't. Sitting down in the chair, he placed his head against the table. What was he getting wrong? Once more, the chakra dispersed, and he looked down to the floor. Come to the end of this day, and he would make that cut. He was determined to.

"I can do this," he said to Hikari as he began to try again. With the chakra flowing around his hand, he'd move to cut the skin. It was a focus that he hadn't had to worry about before because he could see the cut he was making. He was indeed slicing the skin. Looking to Hikari, he moved out of the way of the body to show her how he was able to cut the skin. Maybe he could, next, cut into the body without cutting the skin.
