Delivery Day at The Monkey's Uncle

It was just another day as far as Kota was concerned. He got up and checked his mission log. Kota would have a better time planning his day if he knew what he wanted to do ahead of time. After a quick review he moved to the other room for breakfast. A piece of toast and orange juice later, he was out the door to get a start on his day.

Kota travelled to the dining and recreation portion of the area. The first mission of the day was to help a restaurant move some stuff in. Kota was happy about the restaurant because The Monkey's Uncle was well known and their snacks were pretty good. Whenever he had the extra Ryo he would splurge to buy him and his dad something. He hoped if he did a good job they could even give him a little snacking bonus.

A brief conversation and he found himself in the back of the store. The workers were unloading the boxes from the caravan and Kota was placing the stuff inside. The boxes that he was moving had a bit of weight on them. If it was not for the fact that he worked out and was used to hard labor. Kota would already be sweating through his shirt.

Opening up a box to pack away some fruit, Kota could not help the shock gasp that escaped his lips. “Hatsukoi no Kaori Ichigo” He said the name of the fruit in an almost reverent voice. It was a rare fruit by all means and was known to be expensive. The average person may not ever taste it in their lives. Kota was lucky enough to find a wild bushel and till this day he remembered the taste. Any tea or snack refined from these white strawberries would be more than their weight in gold.

“You hardly ever see young people with a profound knowledge and reverence for food.” Kota turned his head to see a man that looked like a chef speaking to him.

“My family spent a lot of time in various places. My mom is a great cook and she would make anything my dad and I found into a meal. I found this fruit in the forest once. My dad told me about them till my mom made them into the best dessert I have ever tasted.” Kota finished unpacking the box carefully. Already used to the storage and placement of that particular berry.

The rest of the unpacking and storage went by well. The man asked questions about Kota’s cooking skills, and ingredient familiarity on occasion. It was a pleasant work experience. Kota started packing up the last of the goods and prepared to head out.

“Wait a minute young man. I will post up a mission for you to accept tomorrow. We can use a cooking helper. You are experienced enough and I would be glad if you showed up.” Kota was happy to receive the invitation. “Sure. I can come back tomorrow.” Kota gave a wave as he walked out.
