Ryu travelled a few steps behind his village leader as they entered the borders of the Wind country. The pair had not spoken much more on the journey as they were both men of few words, although for different reasons. The byakugan that was sat in Ryu's right eye was on for large amounts of time, not only for the purpose of security but the tool of the Hyuuga bloodline was still new to him and he needed to get used to it quickly. Perhaps if Ryu had been more aware of his surroundings and not relaxing in the Hoshi village he might not have had the assassin creep upon him, nor would the bystanders have suffered from his mistake.

With a pair of Byakugan between the two dark armored ninja, the trip was likely to be quite safe. No one would approach the duo that one of the Byakugan could not tag and alert them to. He kept mostly to himself, as did Ryuzaki; once again he empathized with the young man, as he had on the day he was promoted to Kage.

He wondered how the village was doing, if Ichigo or Kiseragi were having any issues they just didn’t feel like sharing with Kaito.

If truth be told, he was an absent Kage, at most. Promoted only to start travelling immediately for a tournament. He would have to settle in when he came back, and bring Kumogakure back to its feet.
