E-Rank: Fast Food (Solo)

The mission board was skimpy today, like all the other shinobi had grabbed the best of the picking and bolted without a moment to lose. Minato stood there looking at the board seeing only a few little jobs left to choose from, “Clean Up” “Feed the Hounds” and “Clean the Monument” were all that remained for him to choose. Reaching up he plucked the mission titled “Feed the Hounds” which read as follows:

‘Attention shinobi of Kirigakure,

As a previous Mizukage I expect your respect and the best effort on this personal mission. You are tasked with retrieving food, specifically meat for my hounds, there are 3 hounds in total and require plenty of meat for their appetites. You know your task so upon accepting hop to it!’

Minato folded up the post and slid it into his trench coat pocket, turning to face the southern islands. These islands were known in the village for their rainforest like properties, Minato assumed they would make for excellent hunting grounds and headed in that direction wondering what beast he could track down to feed these hounds. During his walk he stopped at a local stall in the marketplace showing the flier to a stall operator and explaining his plan and how he would need some sort of bait for this task, to which the humble merchant handed him three truffles and spoke of some massive boars in the rainforest known for their ferocity. Accepting the gift with a thanks, Minato headed across the last rope bridge leading to a large island covered by massive jungle trees and thick greenery. After a few minutes of trudging through the thick jungle, Minato reached a clearing by a stream. This was the perfect spot to place the truffles for a trap, taking some strong vines and setting up a snare trap from a tree with the truffles in the loop below.

Minato picked a limb high off the ground where the bait was visible and settled down, the wait would be a long one as he doubted a boar would not smell him where he once stood laying the trap. The sounds of the birds and other creatures echoing through the jungle around Minato, he had been here for several hours at this point and was becoming bored with the ‘hunt’ he was on. That’s when his luck kicked in and a massive 255 pound boar walked from the nearby trees, it’s snout wiggling as it sniffed the truffles and began to pour drool as it was lured closer to the bait. The sound of the vines snapping and springing the trap snatching the boar up from his hind legs, dangling and thrashing around as he hung upside down in terror. Minato approached the beast holding his hand as solid as he could with fingers extended and held tightly together, drawing his arm back and aiming at the jugular of the beast. In one quick and precise shot, Minato severed the beast’s windpipe and essentially ended it’s life. Taking the massive beast to the mission issuer’s home for him to be able to feed the starved hounds, Minato accepted the money and headed back towards the administration building to find another mission.
