The Ninja Arts: Part I Empty The Ninja Arts: Part I

Tue Dec 11, 2018 4:34 am
Why did it seem like things had only gotten worse since Fukuro had become a Genin? It had not even been a year since his father's death and already the young Uchiha was losing the drive to keep his promise to the late shinobi. Fukuro decided to take a trip away from the village for a few hours. Ever since Kirigakure effectively invaded Konoha it almost felt as if he was under the eyes of the Mist Ninja everywhere he went. However, there was one place he could find privacy, one place the Hidden Mist shinobi did not seem to frequent. Not far from the village Hidden in the Leaves was a clearing of trees that led into a small waterfall. These days that was where Fukuro did most of his training.

The Genin let out a sigh of relief once he finally arrived, his deep blue eyes scanned the scenery closely,  searching for any sign that he was not alone. Once he didn't find anything he showed a pleased smile, happy to be away from the prying eyes of Hidden Mist shinobi.

There was no telling how long things would remain this way. However, one thing was certain, he would be ready when it was time for the Hidden Leaf to end this ridiculous occupation.

That was another reason Fukuro was trying to keep busy. He knew as a Genin he had some talent, but in the world of the Shinobi he was still nothing more than a child.

“Well. I guess I should get started.” He said,  a small smile coming over his face. Fukuro had an idea on what today's skill he would learn would be. It was a technique that his classes had touched on in the academy. A simple paralysis Jutsu that could bind the target and effectively Immobilize it. Originally Fukuro had mistaken the skill for a type of Genjutsu and steered clear of it. It was not until after he graduated that he realized the Jutsu was performed by using your chakra as a physical restraint, instead of some mental trick. He clasped his hands together, forming the seal of the tiger and closing his eyes.

Fukuro began to build his chakra, taking notice of the significant change in his body as his chakra networks came alive.

“Ninja art: Temporary Paralysis Jutsu.” He repeated the mantra that included the jutsu's name. He could feel the brief surge in his chakra network that required the jutsu to be effective.

There it is. He mused, opening his eyes and staring at the waterfall in front of him. It was actually a simple technique. He had always excelled in controlling his chakra so why wouldn't this technique come easy to him? The only question was could the man utilize this skill against an actual person? Fukuro glanced around, hoping to find a stray dog or rabbit that would come to the stream for a drink. Of course it was his luck that no such animal showed itself. Well, if life won't give you lemons, find a lemon tree.

Fukuro turned to the tree line and did not waste any time. He moved into a full sprint,  passing by tree after tree as he moved deeper into the jungle. He watched as he passed each tree and bush, hoping to rouse a resting animal into a sprint. The best way to test this Jutsu would definitely be on a fleeing target. Oddly enough, he never ran into such an animal. It was like most of the jungle critters in the area had just disappeared.

This isn't right. Fukuro stopped,  pressing his hand against the ground as he pushed himself into a three point stance. He kept a hand to the ground for a moment, closing his eyes and searching for even the faintest shimmer. Nothing.

Not a single animal was around? “No… That doesn't make sense.” He looked up to the sky, taking notice of the sun's position high above him. Midday, warm, and next to a water source? Why would none of the jungles animals-

A blood curdling roar echoed from behind Fukuro, causing his thoughts to scatter. He drew his lips into a thin line, slowly turning to face the source of a menacing growl. It stood behind him with a hungering gaze, deep black stripes rolling over sunburnt fur. Usually tigers like this did not wander this deep into the forest,  but for whatever reason this one was here today. That was about Fukuro's luck in life. He went out to search for a dog or a rabbit and stumbles on a freaking tiger.

The shinobi took the slightest step back from the beast and was met with a low growl of a warning. So it didn't look like he could just slide away from the situation.

“Well… I did need to practice this jutsu.” He chuckled out nervously. He had been planning on using this jutsu on a much smaller and potentially less deadly target. If it did not work he would likely succeed in pissing off a very hungry tiger. Slowly he brought his hands together to form the tiger seal. “Ninja Art…” He muttered,  watching his predator stalk around him menacingly. “Temporary Paralysis Jutsu.” His chakra surged and it seemed to set off the beast's instincts because in the next moment the tiger rushed forward, teeth bared towards the Genin.

Fukuro bit his bottom lip while releasing his chakra in one deliberate push. He watched the tiger's initial leap freeze into a devastating slam as it was forced to the ground. Keeping his hands clasped firmly he watched as it growled and hissed in protest. Fukuro swallowed the lump that had grown in his throat,  admiring what he had just done when he recalled a very important part of the Jutsu's name.

“Temporary… I don't think I should test how long this jutsu lasts.” And he did not. Fukuro walked past the tiger, keeping a steady flow of chakra devoted to the jutsu while making his way away from the growling menace. He may have succeeded in learning a new jutsu,  but he was more happy to have learned it unharmed.
