Even thin Air is Swords... (Solo!) Empty Even thin Air is Swords... (Solo!)

Mon Jun 06, 2016 2:10 am
Chrom was meant to be learning one of the Pendragon secret techniques today, but he had been running late through town. It was a rough day today, a bad sandstorm had come unexpectedly and many people were having a rough time getting their homes properly boarded and closed. Chrom, not able to stand idly by, was having a stress filled time trying to help each person as fast as he could. He had started to go from the people who needed him the most and those that needed him the least and he seemed to be getting by much faster, but he himself was now without any particular shelter and a long walk to the Pendragon compound was in front of him. He sighed and considered just standing under some sort of covering and praying to those above that he didn't get buried in the burning sand but shrugged that thought off. If anything, he'd have to figure out Projection from the knowledge he currently possessed and find somewhere safe to train. Though, considering he couldn't see fifteen feet in front of him, that was sure to be a tough challenge. If anything came easy to a Pendragon, would they really fit to be Knights though? With that thought, he pressed on to the best of his ability, fighting against the elements to the best of his abilities.

The young Knight breathed rapidly as he shut a large steel door behind him, letting out a large sigh. He had found this seemingly abandoned factory that was mostly protected against the storm, and decided this would be a relatively good place to rest until the storm had past. he had little doubt he could perfect the Projection Technique, he had seen it done by Arthur a few times and had even got some instruction in its use. Without reinforcement the projections faded rather quickly, but he figured he would learn the partner technique within due time. The strategy wasn't hard, it was just...complicated. It was equal parts visualization and creation within his own mind followed by some math. The projections usually came out according to how well the user could visualize and co-ordinate the creation of the object in their head before actually making the object build in front of them. While complicated, it wasn't particularly hard because most Pendragons were trained to think analytically from their younger years, and while Chrom hadn't started very keen on his sword abilities, he had still gained an appreciation from the many books and other stories he had read over the times. The King Xavier had been one of the first to truly begin the art of Projection and reinforcement and was the Pioneer of the Unlimited Blade Works technique as it was known today. He had left many detailed works for the Dragons specifically to learn from, all of which were unlocked once he finished his training. He had read over them many times in his training, and now felt he was plenty confident in preforming the skill.

The first step was Judging the concept of creation. Why the sword was made, how it was made, who came up with the idea and other ideas like this. The Sword he wanted to visualize was Falchion but..something in him told him not to. That sword was for him to reclaim and hold in his hands as his weapon that was always at his side. He would have to pick something else, something less extravagant. He had seen plenty of katana blades within the market, and while they weren't really his kind of weapon he would use them for practice. Being of unfamiliar design would give him the extra challenge to perfect the technique. His chakra wasn't that strong yet, but even still he held out his hand and a light blue aura began enveloping him as he concentrated. The particular blade he envisioned was made by a proud blacksmith. While not of Pendragon quality, the man put his heart and soul into every blade and this sword was no different. He didn't really enjoy selling his blades but he didn't find he had a choice most of the time, as money was still a necessity in this world. Chrom could understand, the blade was beautifully made and would be a good sword to whoever wielded it, though he would borrow that skill for the time being.

Next he had to Hypothesize the basic structure of the blade, its shape and insides. He imagined it was made of the average steel of this day and age, and had a curved blade. Its blade had a curve that was slightly more then any other Katana, the work of a man who made a unique blade every time assuredly. The cloth and material of the hilt were soft, very comfortable in his grip. As he continued the steps, a blade in the shape of the katana he envisioned appeared in his hand. While the weapon itself wasn't quite there yet, the gold outline was, and it was slowly filling itself in as Chrom continued to go through the steps. Next he had to duplicate the composition material, which was a similar matter. He had been given many pieces of steel to hold in practice matches and had a good idea of what exactly made the both the blade and the hilt of the sword. The cloth was another matter, but after some thought he came to the conclusion of some kind of silk blended with a few other fabrics. Now he had to imitate the skill of its making within himself. Every precise hammer blow, every fold of the metal, and every careful look for imperfections and contamination. Sweat beaded along his brow as he concentrated and the sword began to fill in to his hand further. Sympathizing with the experience of its growth was a rather short endeavor as it had yet to be bought from the shop. The sword was days old, ready to be taken into the world to defend or destroy as its wielder saw fit. Reproducing the accumulated years was also a rather short step, as it was a very young sword, yet to be tainted with the inner and outer imperfections of age and time that many swords went through. It had yet to be taken into battle or used in training. Now he Excelled in every manufacturing process, building the blade with speed and skill within his mind, as the blade was brought to life before his eyes before his eyes. It finished with a shine, and the light around him faded as he gave the sword a few test swings. It was definitely a good blade, though without reinforcement it wouldn't hold up in even a sparring match he would imagine. He simply didn't have the skill yet to make a perfect copy, but for now, he had the basic of projection down. The next task before him was the much harder one, the technique to reinforce his creations so they didn't break or disappear before he was done using them. This skill could take some Dragons months to master, though Chrom had a feeling he didn't quite have the that kind of time. The katana faded from existence as the Young Knight prepared to brave the storm once again. He had much more to do.
