Mission specs:

Kotonaru was not getting much rest was he? He had done some missions back to back and here he was again. At least this one should require a few actual skills. A petty thief was apparently stealing food from local vendors. Especially the guys who set up in the village square with carts, they could not very well chase the thief, who was known to wear a dark jumpsuit and a mask and was apparently very agile. Kotonaru was now assigned to catch this guy and bring him in for questioning it seemed. Fortunately there was no specific time limit though faster was certainly better. The thief was known to strike through all parts of the day, whenever there were major crowds gathered around the food trucks.


Kotonaru waited for the lunch rush, which was when the largest crowds tended to gather. He watched as the various shop owners resisted the urge to pull their carts into a circle to better defend themselves, futile though it may be. His face obscured completely by a hood, he stood in the shadows of an alley, watching for suspicious activity. Even if anyone noticed him they would not see that he had activated his sharingan and was watching everyone. One of the shop keepers shouted, grabbing everyone’s attention, and Kotonaru saw a guy fleeing with a slice of pizza, but he was not showing much chakra that Kotonaru could track, perhaps he was just a civilian.


Grumbling, Kotonaru wished he was able to use the Hiding with Camoflauge jutsu effectively instead of the half baked effort he was still struggling with. Standing in the shadows, he practiced making parts of his body invisible. Then it was time to get back to the mission. As he waited for the dinner hour, he talked to the food vendors, one of whom gave Kotonaru a free meal. Afterwards, licking his chops, Kotonaru would be found lying on the top of one of the more popular food carts, out of site of the crowd. Suddenly, the shopkeeper below yelled at someone, telling them to come back and get their just desserts, and to give up some cold hard cash. Kotonaru stood up quickly, catching sight of the same figure. Jumping between food carts he soon caught up to the dark clothed figure


The cloaked figure turned and threw a punch at Kotonaru, timing it perfectly. Unfortunately, Kotonaru had tripped briefly and his head was below where it was supposed to be. He ended up head butting the other person who stumbled backwards, packages falling out of their pockets. Kotonaru punched the other in the stomach, knocking out the person. Back at the police station it seemed the thief was trying to start a food bank but did not think anyone else would approve. Well, at least they had a decent purpose if bad methods.
