Mastering a jutsu

Maku walked into the wilderness interested in trying out a new technique he had been experimenting with.  His quasar pulsate was one of his most powerful long range attacks, and he had begun to grasp the science behind it with greater understanding than before.  He goal was to forgo hand seals, and movement all together instead only using his mind.  Once he was a safe distance from everyone, he began to focus his mind’s eye.  He saw the seals as needed, and fluxed his chakra in a familiar kind of way.  Once that was done, he imagined the portals opening up, and firing the blast.  Nothing happened at first, until he tried it again.  This time focusing harder, he watched and to his surprise two portals appeared next to his head, and fired the blasts.  Proud, he waited and relaxed until he was ready to fire them again.  This time, instead of going straight ahead, he angled the blasts for trick shots with the portals.  Once again it worked, and he was able to fire the blasts in angels he never could have with his hands, and also faster without the need for hand signs.  Mission complete in learning how to advance his skills, he returned to the village.
