Mission Topic: "Deforestation"

Senba was assigned to take down a tree near the village gate that was becoming a problem. The village thought it would be a problem militaristically. Senba knew it was going to be easy because he could drain water from plants and brought an axe with him. He arrived at the village gates and knew which tree it was immediately. The tree was almost hanging over the wall. He thought to himself “Yeah that might be a problem if someone did try to attack or sneak in. I can just drain the water out of it and tip it over. First I have to cut into it the right way so it does not fall into the wall.” Senba observed the tree and took note of the width and height of it. He was impressed with the size and wondered why they did not deal with this problem sooner. He sighed and walked up to the tree feeling the bark. He thought “This is a very healthy tree, and it is ashamed to take it down.” He chose the side facing away from the gate and started chopping away. He chopped semi around the tree avoiding the side facing the wall. He made a deep cut into the tree, and surprisingly it still stood true. This was one tough tree, but he chopped a few more times and still nothing. He sat down and relaxed a bit before trying something else. It was nice and sunny outside; though it was kind of cold. He stood up and placed his hand on the tree and said “I am sorry to do this.” He concentrated and started slowly pulling the water out of the tree. This was one big tree and it would have a lot of water to pull out. He built up more chakra and started pulling water. He extracted it and put it on the ground. He pulled as much as he could until the bark became brittle and loose. He felt bad but it had to be down. The tree started leaning toward the side that he cut into. He smiled and thought to himself “There we go time for you to fall down.” He walked over to the side he did not cut and pushed on it. Surprisingly it did not move, and was still tough as nails. He side and pushed a little harder, but it was still did not move. He ran, pretty much tackled it, and it finally gave way. It fell away from the wall and was now no longer a problem. His assignment was done and he headed home.
