Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

Moyasu could now see that one of the other occupants of the bakery had been looking at him as though in a judging sort of manner. He was glad the bakery was so warm and cozy because he could see a slight coldness in their glare as the man introduced himself as Yamato. 'Hmm... Is it possible I wasn't the only one teleported here?' he thought to himself as he acted calm and cool given the new circumstances. When he spoke it would be with a smile and a kind demeanor."I'm Moyasu Nokoribi. Ninja of the Cloud Village. Nice to meet you." From what he had gathered since he had entered the bakery and overheard a few snippets of their conversation it had seemed as though they were all in the same boat for a mission of some sort. This was a thought that was only reinforced for Moyasu as he was asked if he was there for similar reasons. Now that he thought about it his invitation did say that some dude named Itazura was threatening this land. Maybe he was supposed to team up with these three to help out. "Actually I was just about to ask if I could join you?" He was lying of course. He had planned to find a way back to his village right after enjoying a nice baked snack but now it had turned into a mission he was obligated to not walk away from. Maybe once he had finished then that would serve as his way back home?

They didn't have much time to speak on the matter as soon they all had heard someone enter the bakery where they all were and Moyasu observed as some human-fox hybrid spoke to them about a factory that would need protection now. They all would follow his lead eventually, leaving the bakery to make their way to said factory, as Moyasu followed curious as to see how the rest of the strange village looked. They passed by other bakeries and restaurants, clothing shops, toy manufacturers, and many other places that piqued Moyasu's interest. He would have to come back to them all sometime. It wouldn't be long, however, until they got to the factory in question and started discussing strategy. It wasn't long, however, until they heard the sounds of clattering inside and Moyasu brought his hand up to his neck as the air directly around him started to heat up. If he was going to do this he would do it to the best of his ability as his chakra began to ignite and surround him with an aura that quickly melted the snow around him. He would make certain he stayed away from the others, not wanting to accidently burn anyone, as he followed them inside the factory.

Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

Sat Dec 18, 2021 11:58 pm
“Sometimes you just have to be bossy, gosh Zunair!” The snowy haired woman gave out a little huff and crossed her arms, a stern look crossing her face for a couple of seconds before it was replaced with a big grin. She had missed being able to joke around with someone like this, and especially missed not having to walk on eggshells around someone. It had been years since she was free to talk however she wanted without fear of getting murdered at the drop of a hat. “I am glad you are going to pay for it, I’d have to give you another lecture if you didn’t.”

She chuckled softly and then turned her attention to her wolven companion that Zunair and Yamato had both gestured towards. She ruffled the canine’s fur as she gave him a pat on the head, her voice warm and soft as she talked of her dear friend. “This little guy is my familiar, Kuro. Say hi to everyone, Kuro!”

A series of barks echoed throughout the room as he looked between the three strangers and greeted them all. His paws silently crept forward until he was directly in front of the black haired Hyuuga, his eyes looking up at the man expectantly. Despite being unable to verbally let his thoughts and wants be known, he was able to use his actions to get his points across just as efficiently. In this instance, Kuro was telling Zunair that he was okay with the young man giving him some pets. There was no way he was going to miss out on some free head rubs after all!

Perhaps being fed up with the biting cold or having used up all his cigarettes, the fourth shinobi of their team entered the delightful room, introducing themselves as Moyasu Nokoribi from Kumogakure. It wasn’t the Hyuuga’s first time meeting someone from the village hidden in the clouds, in fact she had encountered at least a couple of shinobi from that very same village. The most notable figure she had encountered would have been the acting Raikage at the time, although she was no longer sure as to if he had remained the kage for all these years or if he had met a fate similar to that of Xyxer.

She was pulled from her thoughts by the man wanting to join their group, and it dawned on her that he only knew Yamato’s name because he had been outside for the rest of their greetings. “Nice to make your acquaintance as well, Moyasu! My name is Hikari Hyuuga and this is my partner, Kuro!” Hikari gestured towards the midnight colored wolf who was sitting beside her when she started talking of her friend. “Of course you can join us, the more the merrier!”

Then the hair on Kuro’s back stood on end and his eyes narrowed towards the front door, where a man with fox ears and a white tail began to thank them for their hard work in defending the bakery. Hikari quietly rolled her eyes at the statement, her thoughts wandering to just moments before when someone had purposefully eaten one of the sweets they were supposed to be protecting. Yet a las it seemed their job was not quite finished, and instead of receiving some form of payment they were ushered out the door towards a large factory.

Having gotten used to the heat and warmth of the bakery, Hikari was unprepared to walk outside in the brisk chill. Her black dress was not meant for extended periods of time outside since it was made of material that was on the thinner side compared to wool. It took everything she had to not violently rub her exposed arms and reveal how vulnerable to the cold she was, even if everyone else was feeling just as frozen as she.

To preoccupy herself from the chill she decided to scan their surroundings, her eyes darting across the streets and taking it all in. There were very small people, just as small as she but also even smaller, and the amazing amount of snow covering every single nook and cranny. There were strings of lights covering every roof and lamp post, and candy canes dotted the streets.

“Haha don’t go jinxing us now, Yamato.” She chuckled softly at the blonde’s comment about the mission being incredibly easy. It was the easiest job she had ever done as well, but she figured the next task wouldn’t be as simple, especially given there was a potential invasion planned.

Regardless of the potential fighting they would be experiencing, the group marched forwards towards the factory. On the way they passed by row upon rows of warm food, the scent of which caused her stomach to give a low grumble, and in the center was a beautiful, large tree decorated in reds, blues, and gold accessories and accents. She wished they could’ve stayed longer to admire the dazzling greenery, but the group was dead set on getting to the next location. As such it didn’t take long for them to follow the path and wound up at their destination: the factory.

The moment her lilac hued eyes langed upon the open door she sent chakra coursing through her veins, causing the areas around her eyes to bulge at the swell in energy. She could see all around them, nowhere was safe from her all seeing vision, and Hikari took advantage of that to scope out the area ahead of them. The factory building itself had two floors and was quite long in size. However, what piqued her interest the most were the 5 figures stuffing items into bags or taking bats and damaging the toys and equipment.

“I have my clan’s Byakugan and Taijutsu techniques so I excel in close quarter combat, and I also specialize in medical-ninjutsu so if any of you get injured I can heal you. If none of you have any qualms about it, I can take the front. Also as a heads up, there are five figures inside the factory right now. They are stealing and breaking the items inside.” Her voice was surprisingly calm despite the bone-chilling cold they were faced with, as well as the threat of a fight looming over them. Perhaps one good thing about having grown accustomed to life in Kiri and around Xyxer was that Hikari was no longer fazed by the fear of being murdered. Having death hang over you every waking moment does tend to desensitize someone to it.

If no one had any objections to her going first she would make her way inside, Kuro following beside her with his fangs barred, and hide behind a tower of boxes. The figures were too preoccupied to notice them sneak in and hide, and continued talking about how easy it was to break into Yoi’s toy factory. They mentioned having expected to find bobby traps or guards lying in wait, but instead found the door wide open and waiting for them to break in. If someone else ended up wanting to go first she would not stop them, but would move to be right next to them in case they ended up needing immediate treatment.

Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

Tue Dec 21, 2021 7:24 am
"You can go in first, I'll be right behind you," Zunair said nod to her and then turning to Kuro, "save some for me, okay," the younger Hyuuga said to his cousin's familiar patting his head. Following Hikari's lead into the building, she would assume a position behind a barrier of boxes. He believed they could take the five men, especially between Hikari and himself, but it was better to be safe than sorry. "I'll take the upstairs," Zunair said to his cousin as he snuck his way up the elevated stairs overlooking down below. If Hikari would charge in, he could provide assistance above, setting up a stage for an ambush.

Zunair rested his hand upon the railing overlooking the room and saw the men that were stealing on the ground below. He could rain some senbon down on them at this elevation but figured he'd let Hikari be the team leader. That's when he heard faint screaming coming from outside. Now what was going on, Zunair thought as he approached the nearest window. Wide-eyed, and in disbelief as he saw the citizens running frantically around as individuals were attacking them and some were crawling up the tree, seemingly trying to get the star of the moon.

This next part became a blur to Zunair as a sudden explosion from his right. Being littered with glass and debris, the concussive force sent him flying into the railing, breaking through it and into a stack of boxes on the ground below. Groaning from the sharp pain from the impact on his back, he rolled over as he met with kunai swinging at his face. Rolling over, he would proceed to block another swing from the assailant. Leaving nothing to chance he quickly acted, he regained his stance, as this man was already on him as he was a meter or so away. Zunair bucked his knees when the man, dressed in a hooded black attire, got in arms reach, throwing his left arm up as the man went to strike at him, deflecting his kunai swing. Zunair's hands then took a closed shape with only his index and middle finger extending, unleashing a flurry of flows towards his target in front of him, five blows in all, each blow aiming for a different chakra point in this man's upper body/torso, each time a blow would land he’d be able to force a little bit of his chakra into his body, slowly blocking his chakra ways making it hard for him to summon or mold any chakra whatsoever. However, this was enough technique to deal damage to the person as he fell to the ground not moving.

That's when another person tried to bring their elbow down on him, but Zunair was quick to notice this tactic as he brought his right hand back once more and pointed the first two fingers of his right hand, and thrust upwards towards the underside of his right arm as it flew over his head. Poking his fingers at five key points in an attempt to seal off those tenketsu points in this man's right arm. He’d then push a thin coat of chakra to cover the soles of his feet before dashing backward and looking at the newcomer once more. He then got into his Hyuuga stance once more awaiting his enemy's next move. His eyes focused upon him and his extensive chakra network as he saw that he actually has closed off a few chakra points. Zunair then watched him slowly start circling around him.

As the hooded figure came closer to him, he could see him inching one step at a time, and as he became within four feet of him he saw the start of his kunai strikes, he let his chakra run through his hands and was prepared. Zunair needed to end this no and get back to the others and try to save this village. "Eight Trigrams: Lion Palm," Zunair yelled as his enclosed fist begin to have chakra swell around it taking shape of a lion's head. Thrusting his hand forward, the lion shroud shot across at almost point-blank range and it the assailant, killing him. With him out of the way, he would proceed to find Hikari.

Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

Yamato

Yamato, jinxing the group? What were the chances?

But before that part, there was more important stuff to address. Hikari had kindly introduced her animal companion to the group. Kuro seemed to be a very good boy. A big smile appeared on Yamato’s face, softening his demeanor. "Hi, Kuro!" he waved at the dog, smiling even wider, forcing his eyes closed for a brief second. "Nice to meet you.". He bowed very subtly and gently as he said the second line. His eyes were often at that point, looking directly at the big dog. Yamato could have been a person whose exterior seemed rather cold, but when a good boy was in the room, he needed to be treated as the good boy it was. Yamato slowly walked towards the two. "Is it okay to pet him?" he asked politely, his eyes shining brightly with excitement. He was asking Hikari, of course, but his eyes would dart between her and Kuro, to see if the good boy understood him and seemed interested in getting petted as well. The rest of the mission be damned, a good boy getting awarded for being such was always the number one priority no matter the situation.

If Hikari and Kuro deemed it was okay under the circumstances, Yamato would walk forward, bend down and give the good boy a gentle but loving rub on its head. Yamato, like any sane person if you asked him, loved animals. Especially animals that could be pet. If the petting was allowed, Yamato would end it by standing up again, smiling and speaking once more, "Again, it’s so nice to meet you two!". He would smile. Another thing Yamato loved, if it wasn’t apparent already, was introductions. He had done it almost twice as much as everyone else in the mission group. "Speaking of..." he turned around to face the shinobi from the village hidden in the clouds, "Sorry for not addressing you first. Nice to meet you, Moyasu Nokoribi of Kumo.". He would bow gently once more, straightening his posture to keep speaking with his best possible tone, "Once again, I am Yamato Tanaka from Tanbogakure, and welcome to the team. I agree with Hikari, the more the merrier. And… Being merry seems to be thematically relevant...". He shrugged, smiled and blushed, being clearly embarrassed by the words he had spoken, but he didn’t stop himself from uttering those words regardless of his shame. He felt like it was impossible not to address it. Perhaps having been teleported to another realm with such high holiday spirits had effected Yamato just a little bit more than he would have liked to admit. Needless to say, he was also relatively tired from a day of hard work and he was here to do even more of it. He sighed softly to himself when the thought came to him.

Then they were at the workshop.

Yamato shrugged. "I don’t believe in jinxes.". He would come to regret those words, very quickly. "A mission like this is no place for superstition, Hikari.". He would not only regret, but eat those words really, really quickly. The two Hyuuga’s that turned out to be related headed into the workshop ahead of Yamato. The wolf Kuro, of course, followed his leader Hikari inside right after them. The Yamanaka could hear sounds of the battle even in the first few seconds of them heading in. He had never been in a combat situation with stakes this high before. His heart had started pounding even before putting himself into the middle of it all. He knew he had to calm himself and do this professionally like he did everything else. He took a few seconds to breathe deeply before he followed the two Hyuuga into the workshop.

It was at the same time as Zunair that Yamato realized there were two attacks happening at once: one inside, one outside. "You two handle the workshop, we’ll handle the ones outside! They seem to be heading towards the center with the tree!". Yamato then shot a glance to Moyasu that begged him to back up the Yamanaka. Then he ran, at faster speeds than he had ever ran, towards the middle of the pack outside. One of them seemed to have jumped in to blindside Zunair. Yamato was going to make sure nothing like that happened again, the two inside seemed to have a lot of work to the inside anyway. He couldn’t let the portion of the work he had assigned himself to be transferred to the Hyuuga’s.

He told his pounding heart to shut up, and shouted out "We’ve got this, Moyasu!" to hopefully raise both of their spirits. He then rushed towards the people attacking the workshop from the outside, and those heading for the giant tree, one by one. "Nice to meet you.". He was talking loudly as he started battling the attackers with the kunai in his hands. "My name is Yamato Tanaka.". One of them jumped at him with a tanto. "I am from Tanbogakure, the village hidden in rice fields.". He parried the blow with one of his kunai, then struck the arm holding the tanto to disarm the man without having to kill him. "I am a D-ranked officer currently tasked with protecting this festival.". He didn’t seem done, dropping the tanto, but trying strike Yamato’s stomach with his left knee. "Please drop your weapons. You are breaking the law of the… village we are in right now.". He blocked the knee headed towards him with the tip of the kunai in his right hand, to teach the attacker not to get cocky. "You are disrupting peace and disturbing the citizens.". He finally hit the man he was battling with, with a rising knee to the face, which appeared to be enough. The man dropped to the ground, and his tanto dropped as well, a bit further than him. "If you do not drop your weapons you will have to be dealt with by using force, which is not our preference.". His eyes told the attackers he meant every word he said. He then shouted louder so that his voice would reach inside, which should not have been hard to do as he was standing just a few feet away from a broken window. "HOW ARE THINGS INSIDE? I THINK THEY’RE ROOKIES, SO WE SHOULD BE OKAY!". He held his two kunai in a battle stance and watched the movements of the criminals in front of him. This was about to get… Really tiring. He rushed at them and started dealing with them one by one, so that he would be done with them before any of them could reach the star on top of the tree.

Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

Hikaru, Kuro, Yamato, and he thought he had caught the name Zunair. They all seemed to a swell handful of ninja all from different walks of life that Moyasu knew one day would become his enemies on a battlefield but for now they were all together to work in a singular goal and he was happy to help. "Well I'd be delighted to help you guys out then. A word of warning, though, I don't have much skill in Taijutsu and my range of Ninjutsu is restricted solely in fire style. Reason for this is because I have what is known as the Meijin disease. Without saying too much in detail it basically means I was born with the ability to use one chakra element only for the entirety of my life and that element happens to be fire. So, even though we've just met, the best place for me in combat situations will be at your backs if you're willing to trust me with them." Having said his piece during their time in the bakery it would all be up to them how much trust they decided to place into his words. All he had to do was make certain he played his part as he gave a kind smile to them. 'Alright. Time to go to work.'

Thus here they were, at a warehouse for the sake of a fox man that was surprisingly not the most unorthodox thing he'd ever seen, as now the sounds of battle were surrounding them. Moyasu had been walking along with Yamato when the action started happening around them as he caught a glance Yamato had given him which could only have meant he wanted backup. With the formation of a single seal with one of his hands a plume of smoke would form beside Moyasu before disappearing to reveal a doppelganger. "You two go. I've got things here." As the two proceeded to make their way to help relieve the load the two Hyuugas would have to deal with Moyasu turned the opposite direction and headed to fight his own group that was rushing towards the tree as his chakra activated and he became engulfed in hot flames that had started to melt the snow at his feet. Power flowed throughout his veins and his feet were carrying him across every distance at greater speed as he would fling his hands around as small fireballs would shoot out from him with their every wave.

Moyasu's clone was limiting himself for the sake of Yamato as he didn't want to become a potential hazard just by being in his vicinity. Before Yamato could do battle with the first man Moyasu's clone blinked, activating the special eye that he had within his right socket, before grabbing the man which caused him to stand stock still as his mind started to become overtaken with the illusions of heavy Christmas presents falling on top of him in a pile. He fell unconscious as the clone shrugged at Yamato while his eye went back to it's original shade of fiery orange. "Didn't mean to steal your thunder there." he said with a smirk before charging towards another ninja with fire welling up into his palms. He would fight with his fists and feet set ablaze as his every punch and kick had an extra spark of fury behind their strength. Luckily these attackers didn't seem all that skilled as the clone's speed proved to be too fast to hit and too furious to avoid. After a while of battle the clone and Yamato would succeed in their battles, the remaining men knocked unconscious, as the clone flicked his wrists quickly causing the fires still enveloping his hands to flicker and burn out.

The original Moyasu was done with his own problems in no time, the heat rolling off of his body proving too much for the attackers as they burned alive from getting too close to him, as he had also already taken care of the men that had been climbing the tree. He had shut off his Blast Furnace technique in order to make certain the tree didn't take any sort of bruising nor any of the innocent townsfolk who happened to be dumb enough to want to stick around in order to watch the spectacle that had unfolded in their village. After making certain that the tree was in no further danger Moyasu hopped off the top of the tree and, just before he reached the ground, flames shot from his palms and connected with the snow covered street allowing him to slow his descent and land gracefully on his feet. 'Well that was fun.' he thought to himself as he walked towards the workshop in order to see if there were any further orders of business that needed taking care of.

Flashing back to before they went to the factory, Yamato was introducing himself to Kuro with an inhumanly large grin across his visage. The wolf had never met a human so excited to be in his presence that wasn’t his best friend besides this man. Even Kuro’s eyes widened slightly when the blonde gave a bow to him, a feature foriegn to the canine but having seen others do it many times before so he wasn't entirely left in the dark about it. He bowed his hand back at the man, copying what he had seen Hikari do on several occasions as a form of greeting.

His sudden change in demeanor from formal and disinterested came as a surprise to the Hyuuga, although she knew better than anyone how easy it was to fall victim to Kuro’s big wolfy eyes. Sure he was a predatory creature with fangs and claws as long as her hands, but on the inside he was a big fluffy teddy bear that loved attention and his best friend.

“Don’t ask me for permission, Kuro is the one you need to ask. He is very intelligent and can understand everything you are saying, Yamato.” Her voice was gentle as she tried to open his eyes to the fact that he was treating Kuro like some common household pet and not like the advanced and intellectual being that he really was. Kuro barked once as she finished her statement, giving the curious fellow a signal that he was affirming what the snowy haired Hyuuga had said. Then he walked over to meet Yamato half way and put his head forward as a way to ask the man for some pets, and pets he sure did give!

The wolf’s tail wagged happily and his tongue lolled out of his muzzle as Yamato rubbed his head lovingly. Kuro was proof that size does not matter, any creature could enjoy getting their heads petted even if they were massive. Eventually, much to his dismay, the pets came to a halt and the man stood back up, going back to his formal manner of speaking as he said it was a pleasure to meet them again.

Another bark could be heard followed by Hikari’s soft voice as she joined Kuro in agreement, “Yes it was a pleasure to meet you all as well, and of course to see you again, Zunair! It’s been far too long my dear cousin.” A smile enveloped her face as she looked around at everyone, before her eyes landed on the quieter man that Yamato was addressing. “It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance, Moyasu Nokoribi! As you might have heard, I am Hikari Hyuuga and this is my companion, Kuro.” Unlike the two men unrelated to her, she chose to leave out which village they hailed from. Of course saying Tanbogakure wouldn’t be a lie since she was residing in that village at the moment, but she didn’t want Yamato to start prodding her with questions that she might not have a satisfactory answer for.

Flash forward back to the present time where Zunair had just offered to sneak to the second level in order to do a surprise attack against the robbers.

“Sounds like a plan, we can handle it down here.” Hikari whispered back to her cousin as she watched him safely make his way up the stairs, waiting to ambush the thieves. She glanced over at the other two and was about to make a game plan with them when they all seemed to notice another group of hooligans wrecking havoc near the beautiful center christmas tree as well as terrorizing the civllians that were just trying to enjoy the holiday festivities. Yamato took charge and said he would go take down the bad guys in the open area while Zunair and her should take care of the ones inside the factory, and it seemed Moyasu was in agreement to help Yamato.

She was relieved that they had evenly split up, it helped ease her worries about the younger shinobi. It also helped her strengthen her resolve to try and make quick work of the thieves in order to go aid Yamato and Moyasu, if they would even need her assistance that is.

Yet it seemed as if she had spoken, or thought, too soon, as a blast rattled the building and a figure was launched to the ground of the first floor, a pile of boxes breaking their fall. “ZUNAIR!” Hikari no longer cared about being covert, not when her younger cousin just fell down a story from a blast and a kunai swung at his face the moment he caught his breath from the fall. Her over-protective switch had been flipped, and now her eyes were seeing red with fury. Kuro, knowing what was about to happen, took several steps back to get out of the path of rampage. “Get away from him, you bastards!”

As Zunair was fighting one of them men, the dirty cheat that was trying to kunai an opponent that was down to start with, two of the ones closest to Hikari jumped at her shouts before readying their weapons. One had a tanto while the other had created a whip made entirely out of water. The man with the tanto charged at her, his blade raised above his head so he could easily bring it down on her when he was within range, and the water whip user kept his distance, wanting to play it safe since his weapon was perfect to keep opponents away.

Hikari focused chakra into her left palm and as the man was about eight feet in front of her she thrust her palm forward, causing a vacuum shell to be shot at them and flung their body backwards. The tanto man was thrown ten feet away from her, and since the factory was not very large, their back slammed into the wall with enough force to cause the man to fall unconscious when his head hit the cement wall. The water whip user went on the offense immediately after she used her clan’s Eight Trigrams: Vacuum Palm technique, and tried to catch her off guard by grabbing her wrist. Unlucky for them, Hikari had anticipated they would strike when they thought she was down, so she had activated her clan’s 360 Degree Shield Hand the moment her left palm released the Vacuum Palm.

She was enveloped with a blue aura and the water whip bounced off of her body, flying straight back to the shinobi that cast it. She ran at him while the whip was flying back, and was unfazed when he lashed at her with the whip once more, only to find that the new ‘barrier’ around her continued to prevent the condensed water from doing any damage to her. Within a few minutes she had the man cornered, and she released the barrier right when her hand was swinging to his tenketsu points, her chakra flowing to her finger tips in order to plug his chakra circulatory system. Her hands hit him in rapid succession and after several landed blows, he was out cold.

A low pitched grunt came from behind the small woman, as Kuro had sank his fangs into the thigh of a man that had tried to sneak up on the Hyuuga - although granted he wouldn’t have been able to no matter what he tried since her Byakugan gave her complete 360 degree vision when she was not focusing on something far away. The wolf’s razor sharp incisors drew more blood as he bit down harder, and while Kuro had the man on the ground preoccupied, Hikari casually walked over to him and gave him the same treatment as his comrade: clogged tenketsu points causing exhaustion and, finally, succumbing to forced slumber as he was knocked out too.

“Zunair, are you alright?!” She dashed over to the younger man, her arms reaching out and grasping his shoulders so she could give him a proper once over to check for bleeding or any less severe injuries. Once she was satisfied that he was okay she would release him, “Thank heavens you don’t seem to be hurt! Do you want me to heal your bruises later from when you fell down onto those boxes?”

Seconds later Yamato’s voice echoed throughout the room, asking if they were alright and stating that it seemed as if the thieves were rookies. She glanced around at the sight before them of all the thieves either unconscious or dead, although the latter saddened her as she felt they didn’t deserve to die for such petty crimes. Her sorrowful gaze lingered for a few moments before she turned around and headed to the entrance of the workshop as Moyasu was walking towards them. It seemed everyone had just about finished fighting off the men in black and were trying to regroup.

Hikari was a little disappointed that she didn’t get to see Moyasu’s fire abilities in action, especially since she wanted to learn more about his meijin disease and if there was a way to treat, or even cure, him of it, if he so desired to be cured. It had been her first time hearing of such a bloodline, or disease, and the medic in her couldn’t help but be curious about how one’s body could only house a single element instead of the typical two or three that shinobi could harness. She also couldn’t help but wonder exactly how strong his flames could get when all of his power and efforts were focused solely on fire.

"Everything is fine over here too! We are done! Let's regroup!" She would shout out as a reply to Yamoto, and would patiently wait outside the entrance of the workshop for her two other partners to come back.

Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

Zunair watched as his cousin so effortlessly dispatched two of the intruders with ease using their clan techniques. Zunair was amazed at how elegant, flawlessly, and brave she was fighting the hooded figures. She would have become a great leader of the clan if she had stayed, especially with her fearsome Kuro next to her. Breaking his train of thought, Hikari sprinted over to him exclaiming if he's alright, and then proceeded like a mother hen, checking for any wound on his body. "Stop it, I'm alright," he said as he huffed at her, and then the blonde-haired Tanbogakure ninja voice rang out as he asked if they were okay. Zunair nodded but looked at the expression on her face. He could tell that she was upset by seeing the lifeless corpse of the antagonists that have infiltrated the village.

'It seems she still cares about people, even if they're the enemy,' Zunair thought as began following her towards the entrance to reunite with the others. In that way, Hikari and Zunair were always yin and yang when he comes to approaching individuals. She has a soft side and wants to give mercy; however, Zunair was not like that. He had no remorse in killing when his life or others he cares about is the line. Maybe if he had a kinder individual help him in his upbringing instead of suffering his father's ruthless treatment alone, maybe he would have given the men, mercy. Maybe if Hikari stayed. He sighed to himself; she was here now. Maybe he could convince her to come back to Konoha, or maybe even visit, maybe he wouldn't be so emotionless. "Hikari, thank you for the help back there," he said because he did owe her some gratitude for insuring his safety and their victory.

"Well, great job guys in taking care of the intruders, but the village is...was almost destroyed," Zunair said as he looked around at the aftermath of the chaos that just happened. Almost destroyed buildings, trash everywhere, people upset. Even as emotionless Zunair was, he could not leave the place like this. Walking away from the group, he saw a small woman trying to flip a bench by herself. Offering his assistance he helped the woman turn the picnic table over and then helped gather debris and trash that littered the streets. For what seemed like an eternity of cleaning, the place looked well again. Smalling and giving thanks and welcomes to the little people as they passed by him.

Yoi, the flamboyant foxlike man, then appeared before them, "thank you, thank you all for defending us and our village, we are forever in your debt. Please take these as rewards and join us for the celebration." he said as he hands us each a bag with items in it. Well, might as well join in the celebration since we just helped save the village and put it back together and then head home.

Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

Yamato

It was all smooth sailing once the fighting started. All four seemed comfortable doing their part in the battle, so both groups completed their goals without many problems. Moyasu’s clone had come in at the right time to save Yamato from expending his energy. It seemed he would need to put in even less effort than he originally planned thanks to his teammate. The clone and the Yamanaka made their way through the group of ambushers outside of the workshop rather swiftly. The group, while outnumbering the team of shinobi from different villages; seemed to have been heavily outmatched in skill, experience and mind for strategy.

Unfortunately for Yamato, anything that happened inside the workshop would have mostly remained a mystery to him. He was focused on defusing the situation on the outside and preventing the ambushers from getting to the star above the big holiday tree. That didn’t mean, however, that he didn’t help with the situation inside at all. Once in a while, one of the bandits tried escaping the workshop, to vanish into the night. Yamato did not want to give any of them the chance to get away with their attempted destruction, or worse, the ability to retreat, rest and retry their attack on the workshop and the tree. Once the situation was calmer outside (which happened faster than the fight inside due to the difference in the number of ambushers), Yamato aided his teammates inside through one of the broken windows, sending in the occasional kunai and shuriken to cover the blind sides of their teammates not knowing they might not have needed it with their Byakugan. Even with their dojutsu, they had only so many arms between them, so the thrown objects Yamato aided them with still helped them cover a bigger number of bandits in a shorter amount of time.

This meant he also had the chance to gaze upon the two cousins working together in battle. It was truly a sight to behold. Yamato did not have much experience in real fights at all, let alone ones where he could experience teamwork like this. It was inspiring, and if Yamato was honest with himself, caused a little bit of envy deep within his heart. He had not allowed himself to have a team of acquaintances, let alone family or friends. Yamato always considered his first impressions might not have revealed the entire truth, but watching the two work, he could not help shake the feeling that the bond the two share somehow, for some reason, made them better fighters at this magical moment. He couldn’t put his finger on it. Maybe it was just instinct. Humans were animals after all, and a lot of genetical behaviour came with that ancestry. The need to protect the younger of your pack was one of the most basic instincts in the animal world. Maybe that was it. Hikari had even charged into battle with a wolf companion of her own, after all, so the idea of her love for the species going deeper than aesthetics did not seem like a great stretch. A pack of wolves. Yamato couldn’t help but wonder if he could have shared a similar bond with his own clan had he attempted to locate and remain with them.

Either way, the battle everywhere ended in a short few minutes. Yamato regrouped with the rest. "That was really something." Yamato said in awe, "Truly, I am at a loss for words for how impressed I am. And I am rarely at a loss for words. You have been all great allies and it was an honor fighting alongside you… Or, on the same side, even if physically we weren’t shoulder-to-shoulder exactly… If any of you find your way to Tanbo, let me know and I’ll give you a tour and offer you our finest drinks… Tea, if you’re not old enough for alcohol, or just don’t enjoy it.". He then turned to the younger of the two Hyuuga, "Almost… We did our best with our numbers and timing. Don’t put it on yourself, Zunair.".

Yamato felt the side of his lip getting wet. He touched his face to realize a wound had opened up on his right cheek, that was bleeding down the side of his jaw and down his neck. "Oh..." he reacted silently. This was the first time he had bled in battle. He felt his head get light for a brief second. The hurt in the rest of his body from blunt strikes followed, as the shock must have passed now that his adrenaline rush was coming to an end. "Huh." he followed up his first reaction. His body aching could at this point be easily read through his movements. Every small action came with unequal strain. He tried to play it off as something that didn’t bother him, but his eyes were tearing from both the pain, and the shock that pain like this could be the result of a battle that seemed so effortless. "I’m okay." he said, mostly to reassure himself but it didn’t work. On top of that, he seemed to spurt a little bit of blood from his mouth when he said that. Ashamed, he quickly swiped his mouth with the back of his hand. The blood now covered the sleeve of his jacket instead of his chin.

The next encounter was among the highlights of Yamato’s evening. Finally, the mythical Yoi was speaking of payment. The Yamanaka felt bliss for once, knowing that their employer was in fact not planning on disappearing when it came time to pay. He presented all of them with their earnings. Yamato humbly accepted it with a smile on his face, even though, deep down he still wished the exact terms of the job and the payment for it could have been talked over and decided on by the two parties ahead of time. "Thank you Yoi." Yamato addressed the well-dressed, interesting man, "I don’t know if you heard earlier, but the offer extends to you as well. If you happen to find yourself visiting Tanbogakure, please locate me and I will attempt to show you the beauty that I found there.". He shook the man’s hand after receiving his payment, smiling softly and making eye contact the entire time.

When the matter of compensation was finally concluded, Yamato waited for Yoi to spring back into whatever he was up to, and spoke to the rest of the group once again. "So… It seems highly unlikely we might see each other again any time soon, once we get teleported back to our respective towns. Once again, it was an honor. If you’re going to be joining the festivities, feel free to come over and have a chat, if you happen to bump into me. I am honestly fairly excited, I can’t help but wonder what sort of celebrations Yoi has planned. That said, take care of yourselves. My offer still stands. Until next time.".

Tis' the Season to be Freezin' - Page 2 Empty Re: Tis' the Season to be Freezin'

It had been a victory for the group, the tree was safe and sound while the villagers had come back out to clean up the messes that had been made, as everyone was patting themselves on the back for a job well done. They were in the process of saying their goodbyes as Moyasu decided that it was time to have another cigarette as his way of patting himself on the back. Taking out one from his near empty pack he placed it gingerly onto his lips and lit it with a tiny flame that flickered along the top of his thumb. As he sucked in the sweet yet burning nectar that was his lit tobacco he looked around the area and realized that maybe this place wasn't so weird after all and that he should explore it just a little bit more before his time ran out and he wound up back home full of regret. He took the cigarette out to blow the smoke that had been building up inside and waved to the group of strangers from other villages he had just ran a gauntlet of tasks with as well as the one who had brought them there to begin with.

"Nice to meet you all again." he said with a smile. "I'm going to go ahead and remove myself from the equation here and give this village my own private little exploration. I hope that we may all meet again in the future and I also hope that, if we do, it won't be as enemies. You all seem like good people in your own way and I hope that you all have a very happy holiday. See ya!" With that he would leave the group with a skip in his step, the snow beneath him crunching as he walked, leaving to take in the sights, smells, and tastes that the strange village had to offer. He would try each and every one of them for as long as he was able to.
