Taini Hyuga and the Genin Exam (intro)

The dawn was still hidden behind the horizon when Taini’s alarm clock began to chime the loud chirping seemed to come way too early for him due to the fact that he had not been able to sleep well most of the night because of his nervousness. Today marked a great milestone in his life, today he was going to take the Genin examination. Taini rolled over on his mat groggily and silenced the infernal device that had awakened him so early. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes he had a debate with himself about whether to stay in the bed or actually be productive for that day but alas he had a plan for the day and being a touch tired would not stop him from following through with that plan. Raising from his oh so comfortable mat in his small flat he knew it was going to be stressful and he could already feel the nervousness creeping back into his mind slowly filling his consciousness with little hints of doubt and the seeds of failure. None the less Taini began to methodically go through his morning routine washing up getting dressed and going down stairs to find a small cup of coffee and something to eat today he would need his strength.
After finding his coffee and food for the morning it was still dark outside the first rays of light just barely poking above the mountains and the canopy of the forests. Taini’s plan was simple he loved to train and the focus he put into his training allowed him to clear his thoughts and think about one subject at a time he had always had trouble before trying to do this and had found this personal help in the early beginnings of his training.
So for now since he had a few hours for the exam he would take a run around the village to get to the academy. If he took the long way around the walls he would still be to the training grounds in plenty of enough time to rest and regain his thoughts before the exam. Stretching while walking, Taini gradually increased his pace to a soft run/jog and kept pace for a while. About half way around the village he began to sprint counting the steps he took as he went 100 steps sprinted gave him 1 point his goal was to reach 100 pts before he reached the academy. Taini continued his pattern until he was within sight of the school and when he reached the front door remembering his count he sporadically sprinted in place for three hundred steps just so he could reach his goal and keep his promise to himself. Now that being finished and a good sweat going he had about forty-five minutes before he was supposed to be present for his exam. So the next step on Taini’s list for this day was to go on into the classroom and meditate on all of the different pointers that he had learned about the two jutsu he needed to use today for his examination. Specifically he was going to remember some of the things that Cole Yuki had taught since those simple techniques seemed to help him more than others. After approximately thirty minutes of his meditation and thinking about what he had learned and how he was going to implement them during the exam. Taini began to feel slightly drowsy he was in the room he was assigned and it was warm and comfortable. He already had his eyes closed so no one would notice if he just sat back and waited till the proctor called his name ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ… (WC-608)

The proctor walked into the room, a small frown on her face despite her attempts to be cheery. The small flowers she had been receiving on her desk had at first simply made her smile, then she had become curious as to their sender and now... well, she wouldn't have to worry about that now, she had work to do.

"Mr. Hyuga," she called out, getting to the next hopeful attempting the exam. "Please come to the front and demonstrate the transformation and clone technique and explain it tothe best of our understanding." The redhead smiled kindly at the candidate in case he was nervous about the exams. "Take your time."

Taini is in the middle of a wonderful dream he is walking through the middle of the village he has just returned from a mission and all of the members of the village are watching as he marches down the main road past everyone who is chanting his name. “Tai-ni, Tai-ni!” he smiles and waves. From the crowd of people a few girls run out including a very beautiful red haired women is yelling at him Mr. Hyuga! I love you Mr. Hyuga! Just when Taini begins to ride off into the sunset with the beautiful red haired women he feels a slight jolt like someone shaking him. At that exact moment Taini’s eyes flash open and before him is a red haired women with bright golden eyes staring at him saying “Mr. Hyuga?” Startled Taini stands up quickly like a spring that uncoils after being held back for a time. Taini looks around the room nervously back and forth, back and forth. Until he realizes it was just a dream he was not the hero he had dreamed and he had fallen asleep before his exam.
Still befuddled and looking around the classroom like a mad man he felt the warmth growing in his cheeks, the embarrassment flooding into him much like a unexpected rain storm in a valley it sprung into him for just enough time for someone to notice and then it was gone and the only thing that was left was the memory and the looks he received coupled with the snickers and laughs from the other students waiting in the room. He was used to the whispers and the laughs he hear then so that didn’t bother him the real annoyance was the fact that he had fallen asleep on the day of his genin exam that bothered him more than any laugh would ever. Turning back to the girl in front of him the red haired girl relayed the instructions “Please come to the front and demonstrate the transformation and clone technique and explain it to the best of your understanding." Taini understanding that it was now or never made his way to the front of the room. Taking his time as his crossed his row of seating and sauntered down the steps so that he could shake the miniscule cloud of sleep that was still around him. By the time he reached the floor of the room he had focused his thoughts and was beginning to decipher how he was going to approach these jutsu and getting his mind ready for the task at hand.
Beginning now Taini calmed his breathing letting the nervousness slip from his body he focused on his body and the workings of it how he looked and remembering every detail he could of himself. Taini’s mind drifted back to when Cole had been instructing him on this jutsu. “Ok kid watch me this is how the clone id done…” Taini remembered how Cole’s words were not really a big help but him watching through his byakugan had made all the difference when he was performing the jutsu in his training. Now having his breath calm ebbing and flowing like the chakra in his body Taini focused and began routing the chakra into the channels that flowed to his crown meridian. The chakra would focus in the area around his eyes and allow him to activate his byakugan. Taking a deep breath Taini focused his chakra into his eyes like he had done in all the weeks up to this point and opened his eyes the chakra flowing through his eyes allowed him to see his classmates in a new light. They might have been laughing at him earlier but now they began to realize he was a screw up and an orphan of sorts but he was still a Hyuga and that was nothing to underestimate. Ready to begin Taini started by looking at himself and seeing the way his chakra was moving in his body he began to focus and as he focused he explained “the principle to performing the clone jutsu is to have just the right amount of chakra you need to fill yourself and know yourself in detail enough to form the chakra around your body much like a second skin”. After saying this he began to take his chakra and move out of his body until through his eyes it seemed that his body was surrounded by a flaming armor covering his every inch. “the catch is that it is very easy to put too much into this jutsu because it requires a bit of control too much chakra in the clone and the manifestation will not hold its shape it will look bloated and misshapen”. “ on the other side if you do not put enough of your chakra into it then the clone will look like a husk and that will not fool anyone who sees it, They key is just enough”. At this point Taini started to pull back the raging fire of chakra that he saw around his body and form it around himself, shrinking the chakra like a second skin even to his keen eyes it just looked like his body had blue tinge to it. “Next when you have the chakra rapped around yourself you simply will the created vessel to the side of you or wherever it needs to be placed”. Taini forced his thoughts as he spoke to will his chakra beside of him. He could see the husk beside him “then to finish the action you fill the clone with enough chakra so that the amount is equal to the amount in your own body”. Allowing the lines from his meridian to fill the husk Taini finished the jutsu with a puff of smoke he had created an exact copy of himself height, weight, appearance, all the way down to the protruding veins surrounding his eyes. Smiling he released the clone. With his new found confidence in the success of his technique Taini began again.
“Now for the transformation jutsu the basics still work the same but instead of working with your own body as a mold you have to observe the appearance of another person with great attention to detail and mold your chakra to fit their shape”. Looking around the room Taini began to focus on the way Cole had look that day on the training grounds. Taini focused intently and steadied his breathing and worked his way through the hand signs precisely as he remembered Cole working through them. Dog, Boar, Ram… and he let the chakra go into the design he had thought about previously. Smoke appeared as it had done many time before and he felt the shroud of the chakra cover him and twist into shape. Looking out now Taini looked at himself even though his eyes were not showing to the class he could see that to them he was an exact copy of Cole, he remembered the feeling of how his chakra was shaped. Outwardly Taini now looked taller and more well-muscled than he had been and his voice even matched Cole’s. “The thing to remember about performing this jutsu is that you use your body as a focal point and an anchor for your chakra.” You also do not have to fill the entire shell you created with your chakra because your body is inside of it your just have to fill in the empty spot between your body and the shell”. It the same with going to a smaller size you just have to reduce the amount of chakra you use to fill the shell so that it fills the size of the person you’re are transforming into”.
Knowing that he had done well Taini released the transformation and returned to his normal appearance, letting a small smile creep on his face he scanned the classroom one last time with his byakugan activated and slowly took in all the expressions in the room, he looked at each individual student and saw their chakras flowing in and out mediating how their bodies worked and loving the sight. After this he finished by releasing his byakugan letting the tension fade from his body. Looking to his proctor Taini signaled that he had finished his part of the exam and began walking back to his seat smiling the entire way. Taini thought to himself he had done everything to the best of his ability and he had managed to use his byakugan throughout the whole exam and he had not felt tired.
