The Hyena had learned some more knowledge of the habits of the Hyena, some of it surprisingly simple and integral to the Hyena’s mindset. The library trip had proved an annoyance, firstly because it was rubbed in his face how little he truly understood of his name sake, secondly because the librarians, the ones who believed that he did not know how to put a book where it came from, were tiresome, and thirdly, as was not previously mentioned, he was amazingly capable of tangling his hair in other things. He should really be using the Byakugan more effectively and in tandem with his hair manipulation practice, so that he would know where all his individual strands were, he thought he might have lost a few hairs when that cart had come by. Not that it mattered much. He stood in the rain, collecting his thoughts for some time.

After a while, he opened his eyes again, the rain having slowed down to a mere drizzle, enough to obscure one’s vision and cause muffled sounds to be indecipherable, but wet enough to prove annoying to most. Himself? He liked the feeling of the water running down his skin… it was cold and refreshing. He began wandering back home, not paying attention to the direction in which he was headed, trusting his sub-conscious to keep him from falling off of anything. He needed time to collect his own thoughts. For fun, he tried forming his hair ino an umbrella to keep himself dry, slanting the hairs so that the water would not collect, using the lower ones to make certain that no water leaked through. He could have observed this process with the Byakugan, but he wanted to get a genuine feel for how his control was doing, as in a real fight he might need to use his Byakugan to watch other things instead. Besides, he would need the fine hair control if he were to suddenly become as blind as he often looked to people, due to the resemblance between the Byakugan and the milky white eyes of the blinded. Spooky if he was honest with himself.

The hair was starting to do a reasonable job of keeping more water from flowing onto him from their conduit that was the air with the process of the help of gravity. The hair oil was helping insulate the hair, forming together to repel the water to a very small degree that was quite unfortunately unable to be used in combat as it had not been trained into a full jutsu just yet. He would hold that thought though and try to do something else with it later perhaps.

Looking up, suddenly, he found that his foot steps had taken him to the doors of the Kage office, or more specifically and accurately, just outside the door that lead into the waiting room for general visitors. He paused, letting the hair back down from its umbrella shape, manipulating it until it was instead the shape of a large hat. With a little dye he could probably pull this off now, huh. He opened the door and stepped inside, looking around him. An empty room, save for some rows of chairs and the occasional table, assaulted his eyes, and more importantly his expectations, as he could remember when this place had been bustling. At the same time his ears resounded to the painful silence that endured even after his entrance. His eyes scanned the place, not finding a soul in sight. He walked up to the door, his hand held out to knock, and tried to think over why he had come here.

Ah, yes, the most pressing issue right currently, was that currently he was bereft of a team to be part of, and while it was possible to rank up otherwise, it would be annoying to attempt such on one’s own. If the Hokage seemed to be in a good mood, depending, the Hyena might bring up his concern that an apparent lack of activity might inspire foolish (or perhaps not so foolish and instead rather well reasoned) confidence, in Konoha’s enemies, and they might attack, believing the village was weak, followed by whether he could do anything to help.

The knock that was heard around the world that spanned the entirety of the room in which the Hyena was in, resounded, the Hyena’s knuckles rapping gently against the door. Silence continued to pervade the area. The Hyena waited plenty of time for the Hokage, if he had noticed, or was even in there, to respond, but nothing happened. Concerned, he glanced at the clock and then checked the hours posted. Yeah, it was still during the visitor hours for visiting the Hokage. Weird. He activated the Byakugan, flicking his new point of focus past all the rain outside and past the door to the office he had been trying to gain access too, not looking for anything besides the Hokage, he did not want to be privy to information he did not need to be knowing of. What greeted his eyes was an empty chair. Strange. Nobody had heard anything of the Hokage leaving, but he was not here either, perhaps something else had come up. The Hyena would check again later.

Walking back into the rain outside, the Hyena used his Byakugan to scan the entire surrounding area but could see nothing indicating the presence of the hokage or his Anbu. He had met one of the jounin of the village, back from a journey that started some time ago, but not any apparent anbu, though those he figured he might not recognize on sight. He began walking back to his den, using the Byakugan to make sure he was not being tailed. He had a lot of thinking and some detective work to do. For now though, he would content himself with taking out all the trash in his room, no, not room, den, he had to remind himself, using his hair of course.
