wandering the village Empty wandering the village

Wed Mar 11, 2015 11:30 am
The Hyena frowned, standing on a cliff overlooking the village below, fingering a strand of hair he had been practicing growing to train a new jutsu. This village was not cracking up to be everything it had proclaimed itself to be, just as this jutsu was turning out to be much harder than he had expected. He frowned again, unhappy with how the few somewhat reliable people he had found who had proved themselves disinterested in their own strength or too busy to train. He always tried to squeeze in every bit of training he could, you never knew when it could come in handy. Then again, most village shinobi had not lived the life he had, losing virtually everything, giving up his identity for peace of mind, still half expecting to be hunted like an animal. Speakign of which… he checked around with his Byakugan. Good. He and his thoughts were alone in the pouring rain, his massive (for his age) frame outlined under his shirt by the water pouring off his body, over the nearby edge of the rock, and far away into the abyss that was the village below. Somebody was getting dripped on, he knew. A funny thought indeed, he smiled, a slight one that involved just the corner of one side of his mouth, the smile abruptly vanishing again when the sight of the village reminded him of his previous train of thought.

He needed to find new pack mates, and possibly a hair dresser as well, his hair was suddenly growing faster than he had expected and to be frank, he was having trouble controlling it. He walked through the village, hoping to find a familiar face, perhaps someone he would be able to ask for advice, but no such luck indeed. He stopped, standing on top of the Hokage rock, the countless heads reaching off into the distance. As if it was a foreshadowing of things to come, he could see that the earliest faces were obscured from view, not by objects hindering his vision, but because with time their profiles had become worn. Nobody seemed to believe in their ideals anymore, nobody tried to maintain the faces, nor the value system they had set up when creating the village. His head slumped as he walked back down the giant rock, his feet attaching him to the side, as he passed, out of respect, around the side of the first Hokage’s profile, making sure to only step on the un-carved bits of the mountain. When he reached the bottom, he sighed. He hoped someone or something would happen such that the village would be returned to its formerly prosperous and vibrant self. Right now… it did not look like much was happening anywhere. He was getting seriously bored, and not because he had learned all he could know. He had heard tell of a powerful jutsu that required one to have knowledge of the ninjutsu and sealing techniques before it was able to be learned. Unfortunately it was only passed down between the various Hokage, and he knew he was not fit to be taught by one of those powerful beings, much less to try and take their position. No. He would become powerful on his own first.

He paused, allowing the hair he had started growing to extend downwards until it was visible while he was looking down at the ground, his head in a neutral position in comparison to his shoulders. Good. He began growing more hair out, attempting to create a larger amount of hair so that his next training exercise would work. Eventually, he had enough to make a decent braid of reasonable thickness, and he began whirling it around in a circle. Fast. He was aiming to create a gust of wind that he could feel, the hair being angled slightly to be similar to that shape of a propeller. As a result the wind would be pushed in a cone shape of direction as opposed to being pushed parallel to the path of travel of the hair. He felt weird though, doing this in plain view of whoever happened to be left in the village. He stopped at 3 meters above the ground, spinning the hair faster and faster until he was able to see the leavers shifting in tandem with his hair movements, indicating he had built up a significant amount of wind.

He walked back to where he lived, his grungy apartment, which was rather non clean looking merely because he no longer thought it mattered if the village might be going downhill. Maybe, for fun, he could use his hair to help him clean so he did not have to walk so much, it looked like that would not be an impossible feat. Maybe things would change for the better soon.
