Construction underway [P,io,training] Empty Construction underway [P,io,training]

This was the first puppet Angel had put together and it was proving quite difficult.  Finding the part was only a part of it.  Puppet parts aren’t easy to come by.  Angel went around collecting parts that were common enough to find in a marketplace.  Gears, pins, piping, insulation and tools to put the puppet together.  She also found some wire and even a high powered motor she thought she could put to use.  But some more of the parts were less easy to find.  She had to make those parts herself.  Gathering what she had bought from the market place she headed home to start the process of putting the pieces together.  It was kinda like a puzzle.  Angel had always liked puzzles scince she was a kid.  Trying to find the right pieces that go together.  Angel scattered the pieces of her puppet on the large work table that her mother had set up for her in the basement.  The project would take days but Angel had to work thoruhg it cause if she did she would have her very own puppet.  Angel put the puppet together like a puzzle too.  Finding one piece and fitting it where it goes then another piece.  She worked tirelessly for hours.  Finally she finished the motor mechanism in the waist of the puppet.  It was hard to make sure all the pieces fit perfectly using her chakra threads she tested just the waist piece.  It was a lot heavier than she expected.  Her threads were just barely able to start the motor and hold it steady but it began to get out of her hands.  Powering it down she set the puppet down.  She was frustrated.  It wasn’t going to work how she wanted.  She had to re-plan the puppet.  The forces of the motor would be too much to control with just her chakra threads.   She went back to the drawing board reengineering the puppet.
It took several days of drafting before she came up with a new plan.  She would add clamps to the feet of the puppet.  That would allow it to brace itself against the ground.  Instead of relying completely on the strength of her threads the puppet would be able to use it’s own structural integrity.  However that meant she had to redesign the internal structure of the puppet.  Once that was done she had to go shopping again.  Picking up the needed pieces and discovering a wonderful oil to lubricate the internal gears of the motor.  She headed home once again.  She worked next on an arm piece.  The first segment under the shoulder of the left topmost arm.  It was a basic piece but it needed to be created none the less.  His piece would provide part of the arms ability to extend.  Building the piece was simple.  It was merely a few interlocking pieces that when she triggered it with her threads it would extend.  She crafted another one for the left bottom arm.  This was different from the top one only in form.  Being on the bottom it had to accommodate to an arm on top of it and therefore was inverted.  Otherwise it functioned just the same.  She looked down on her work and smiled.  It was good work.  She tested the two parts.  Expanding and contracting making sure it held its structural integrity even while extended.  She was very thorough.  Better to do it now then find out on the field that it was not up to par.
Angel had to put in some sleep at some time though.  Her project even invaded her dreams.  Gears and motors and wires and strings swimming around breeding new ideas.  Even something she would later implement in this puppet.  The next morning she went out to do some training.  She couldn’t keep herself inside all the time but still even while training her body her mind was on the project.  She ignored everything while she puzzled over how to implement her gadgets into the puppet.  It just seemed like the puppet was too small.  She could install expanding panels.  And what should she call the puppet.  There was still so much to do.  She blasted a training post with a fierce puch.  The pain brought her out of her trande. “OW OW OW OW OW” she thought.  Damn that hurt.  “wait the strength of the puppet is a factor as well.”  Angel stopped training and just stood there doing mental calculations.  She would have to reinforce the exoskeleton of the puppet or else it would crumple even under the force of its own strength.  That means she would need more parts.  Looks like another trip to the market.  The good thing was most of the shopkeepers over there were getting to know her.  Even if her clan despised her for not focusing on the development of her insect host, the shop keepers thought it was cute that she was practicing puppeteering.  Picking up more materials she bought herself a lollipop as well.  Not a big one.  It was reasonably sized.

Back at home she decided it might be a good idea to give her insects a workout as well.  She could teach them about her puppets and how they work and she could even get a few extra hands to help her out.  “hehe”  she chuckle.  A few extra hands.  Back in the basement she released her bugs.  She spoke with them having them grab parts and move pieces she wasn’t working on at that moment.  She manipulated the puppet with her hands her chakra threads and her kekaichu at the same time.  After hours of work she even became excellent at multitasking.  Controlling many parts at once she began to pick up an enormous amount of speed completing part after part.  Her threads began to weave at increasing speed around her puppet parts held aloft by her bug minions.  She began to notice the thread splitting at the ends much like it did when she was training with Aya.  She poured more power into her fingertips splitting the threads down to the fingers.  She found that with concentration she could manipulate each of the threads individually.  This allowed her to manipulate more parts of the puppet as she almost sewed the puppet together.  After hours of work she thought now was a good time to take a break.

Construction underway [P,io,training] Empty Re: Construction underway [P,io,training]

She guessed it was time to go back at it.  It wasn’t going to finish itself.  She would start by collecting more supplies.  She would need a much larger quantity.  The supplies she got before was supposed to last for the whole puppet but most of them were already used up in the few parts she had already made.  She stopped at the shop that she visited often made some small talk.  The worker wife had just had a baby boy.  She inquired about it and it seemed that they had a healthy baby boy.  Angel offered that he would be a great ninja someday.  Then she said farewell after gathering what she needed.  She had to go to another shop as well as to pick up more specific parts mainly a coil of strong synthetic polymer that she was going to use to craft some of the defensive capabilities of the puppet.  Bringing the supplies home she set her things up for another session of building.
But before she started another long and tedious session Angel decided to take an important break to think about what she would name her puppet.  The naming of a puppeteers puppet had always been important.  Ever since the Great Kankuro puppets have had specific names that meant something to their master.  As her first puppet it would hold as a marker for her to improve from.  She had put in a lot of good work on this puppet.  It would be very hard to outdo.  Angel sat in the grass of the training field pondering these things she let her bugs come out having then fly in relaxing patterns.  For as many things that rely on her to exist she felt a desperate need to have more friends.  She didn’t take them for granted she just felt that human friends would be nice.  Standing she moved over to a training post she threw some light punches and lashed at the pole with kicks and strikes.  She then backed off and focused on the post sending he bugs to attack the post just as practice.  Her plan for her puppet that she was no building was to provide her with a suitable defense as she worked on more puppets.  This first one would be responsible for fending off any attacks that would do her harm.  She decided on the name Denial.  For that is what it would strike into the heart of her enemies.  Not fear or terror but the plain feeling of being helpless.  That was a good name, she praised her self.  But the name only mattered after she had finished building the thing.  Sighing angel decided it was time to get back to work.  Next time she would probably bring some of her parts out here to do work in the sun.
Returning home angel got back to work.  The next thing that needed to be done was to construct the joints for the left arms the joints would be ball and socket to provide maximum flexibility.  Attaching a washer and gasket to the spine of the joint Angel formed the socket and fit it to the ball joint.  Once it was set she began to build the next segmen to the arm.  In this segment she reinforced as she went that way she wouldn’t have to repeat steps.  These segments also required the expandibility for the arm giving an extra amount of stretch.  The final segment was just like the segment she just did but this one tapered to a wrist.  She like the Idea of a 3 joints arm.  With the extra expandibility of each arm segment it would allow for emense movement range.  She crafted these segments for both of the left arms.  She guessed the next thing she should work on was the right arms.  She was a creatre of symmetry.  Even thoug her puppet had differing right and left arms she wanted to finish the arms before working on the next segment of the puppet.  The next arms were a little harder to visualize but she knew what she wanted to do.  These sgements had to be carefully crafted.  Each of the 3 segments had 2 pieces that would pivot out on either side of the arm so they would be 90 degrees to the arm itself.  These pieces extended out to a length of 3.5 feet.  Then inside the arms would be a folded/rolled piece of the high density polymer that she had just bought.  It would slide out and interlock with the other arm segment’s piece.  All of this would happen with just a flicker occurring very quickly so that it can be used as a shield.  Other than that the right arm segments were also given the capability to expand on all segments giving the arms the ability to be either 4.5 feet long all the way to 9 feet long.

Angel picked up the 4 arm segments with her chakra threads and practiced extending and retracting the arms and bending them in various ways.  As she did she had her insect host gather the parts she would need for the next part, which was the construction of the hands.  Angel practiced holding all the parts with the split threat of one finger.  It was difficult but she began to understand the chakra control required.  It was complicated.  Both power and finesse was required at the same time.  Power to split the threads but then the slightest of twitches of the finger would be needed to properly manipulate the threads of a single finger.  But something trigger inside Angel.  Something she had never felt before….It was pride.  She knew that she was doing good work and was actually excelling at something for once in her life.

The next project was very intricate.  She was going to put together the hands of the puppet.  Unlike a lot of other puppets Angel put a lot of detail into the design of the puppets hands.  She knew that it would need to grip and with enough finesse would be able to utilize its hands as well as we can.  Angel sat down at the workbench and brought all the pieces close together.  She needed to be very precise other with the hand would be brittle and have no strength.  She worked tirelessly thought the night.  testing and fine tuning and testing again.  She finally finished the first hand.  The second took less time but on the third she ran into a major concern.  The design even though it was strong and agile, had a flaw.  Using some of the polymer she had used for the shield Angel fixed the flaw on the first hands she had worked on.  Retesting the hands she found they were a little limited in their capability but then again they would be less likely to be destroyed in battle.  Smiling she finished the last 2 hands and set to work attaching the hands to the arms.  She did it through another ball and socket joint.  she seemed to like the maneuverability of the ball and socket joint.  Hinge joints were very restricting.  she now had 4 completed arms.  She sighed and admired her work.  The arms had been the technical part of the puppet.

The next part would be pretty much straight forward and would require less delicate work.  Angel now needed to construct the shoulder mounts for the arms.  the shoulder mounts were slanted such that the upper arms were closer to the center of the puppet, but not by alot.  Again she would use a ball and socket joint to attach them.  She built this piece for both sides and attached all of the arms before building the torso of the puppet.  The Torso was just a basic chest chassis.  It was reinforced to make sure that combat wouldn't break it.  She applied some of the reinforcing polymer to the outer plates.  the inside even with the reinforcements would be mostly just open space.  The shoulder sockets were designed to hold the circular shoulder arm mount in such a way that she could rotate the should piece to allow the top arms to be on the bottom or the top or even have the arms be front and back.  the bottom of the chassis would be geared and have a ratchet mechanism as well as a clutch to engage the motor that would slide up into the torso.   the motor wasn't very large.  Angel was able to move it with effort but the factor she needed wasn't size it was torque.  as the puppets parts were fairly light this motor would do fine.  in the torso she also designed aq release mechanism to release the arms from the shoulder mounts.  She made absolutely sure that they wouldn't disengage without a command form her chakra threads.

That finished the torso section of the puppet.  Angel looked down the neck part of the puppet.  there was a lot of room if she wanted to hid things inside the puppet.  With the length of the puppets arms it would be able to reach anything inside.  Unfortunately the arms would be a little too big to fit in past the head, which she was going to make next.

The head was more of a piece of art than a mechanism. Angel decided to take the head out to the training field

Angel  went to the training field to develop the face that would be placed on top of her very first masterpiece.  She sat in the far corner.  This corner was very nice.  It was cooled by the breeze and the shade of the forest.  It also provided a view of the training grounds while she worked.  The structure of the head she would design from wood using a kunai and sandpaper.  She didn’t know how she wanted it to look but that usually came as it did.  She spoiled several pieces before she decided on how she wanted it to look.  The head was eyeless though the place for the eyes was still there.  Indentations of where the eyes were sopossed to go would sybolise the gaurdians blind duty to protect.  Angel  crafted a simple nose and a mouth stretched into the smallest of a frown.  the face of her Denial puppet was intended to look completely emotionless.  He was to give off a feeling of complete helplessness to her enemies.  She then attached a wig to simulate hair on his head in the style of a samurai’s topknot.  The samurai were symbols of honor and protection in Angels mind.  She looked down at her work.  It looked good but there was still more to be done.  “no time to waste.”  She stood and headed back home.  As she walked in she handed the sculpture to a group of insects.  They took the head downstairs and prepared t5he table as Angel instructed.  Angel went about making herself a snack as downstairs the kekaichu gathered materials that angel would need in the next part of her project.  This included the defensive polymer that she had used on the shield and some mounting braces.  Grabbing her snack she walked down the stairs.  She decided to pick up her thread training.  While eating her snack she did the entire next section with just her chakra strings.  She had to cover the head in the polymer and attach the braces to the neck section.  It was incredibly difficult like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube with your feet.   But she was able to do it with help from her insect horde.  Finally it was time to attach the head to the body.  She made carefull attention to make sure the head was secured tightly.  Even though the head had no functional purpose she didn’t want it coming off in battle.  A headless puppet wasn’t as intimidating as she wanted this one to be.  The only thing left to do was to design the legs and lower torso and she would be finished.

The legs would be a fairly simple project as would the lower torso so Angel decided to them at the same time.  The legs were going to be similar to the arms but with a few major additions.  With the high speed of the motor Angel would need to stabilize the legs to be able to support the spin as well as to hold his ground when using the shield.  To accomplish this goal Angel designed the legs to be thicker and stronger.  The shape of the legs were meant to look similar to the baggy pants worn by the samurai.  But the legs were full of contraptions, pins bolts and sliding supports to cause the legs to become a very firm base to better support the puppet.  Finally at the bottom of the 4 foot legs Angel built in a switch that when triggered would release a powerful clamp to restrain the legs to the ground or surface it is standing on.  Angel sat for a moment ratcheting up the clamp arms staring off thinking of different fighting techniques she could use while her bugs and chakra threads did all the work.  Upon finishing the legs it was a simple task to construct the bottom half of the torso.  It had to be sturdy and reinforced as well as shielded.  The bottom torso’s main job was to hold up the top and the motor.  On top of that it needed to be reinforced because the leg braces needed to be securely attached to the motor.  Once built Angel attached the legs to it locking all the mechanisms in place and making sure all the locks were properly situated before welding them closed.  The legs were still able to move freely, it just the design was not meant to have the legs separate from the lower torso.  Finally the moment of truth had come pushing the two halves together Angel conneted the entirety of the puppet for the first time.  It’s looked amazing.  It always felt good finishing a project.  Well she wasn’t done yet.  There were a few loose ends to take care of.  She welded the connections of both halves to their respective sides of the motor.  She covered the legs and bottom half of the torso in the shielding material as well as any part she had missed.  Once that was all done she anxiously attached her chakra threads to her first life sized real puppet.  It lifted off the table as if it had just woken up from a 100 year nap.  Angel was a fan of the theatrical.  She let it slid off the table with a resounding thump as it bowed before it’s new master.  “What is your bidding” Angel said for the puppet in a low exaggerated voice before smiling and skipping around.  She had to take her puppet out for a test run.

Angel wrapped Denial in linen clothes so she didn’t scare anyone when she took him through the village to the training grounds.  She had to be careful because she needed an open area to practice or her inability might hurt someone.  Once she arrived at the field she went to her secluded area and unwrapped her pride and joy.  Attaching her threads she made the puppet stand and kneel before her.  She smiled and began to weave her fingers around commanding the puppet to move and perform the stances that she had learned so long ago.  She made him stand with one leg forward and all of his hands presented forward slightly staggered to protect a large area.  Twitching her fingers she manipulated the puppets hands and fingers making sure she had complete control.  She began her routine slowly drawing circles with the puppets hands the body was exceptional and responded well to her commands.  Now she had to test the mechanisms.  Snapping her hand to the side the arms extended and retracted.  Good good.  Next she thrust her right arm to the left and brought her left hand up triggering the shield to activate.  She turned the puppet and slammed the shield into a defensive stance.  Bringing her left hand straight down the Clamps on the puppets feet engaged gripping the ground as it was designed.  Angel smiled.  ‘So far so good’ she thought.  ‘Now for the final mechanism’.  This was the tricky one.    Pulling her right hand back all the way to the right and throwing her left hand to the left she engaged the motor hidden in the puppets waist.  The puppet began spinning.  Picking up speed the puppet bean to create a gale fore wind pushing angel back.  Her bare feet dug into the ground as she used her suface walking technique to hold her in place.  The motor was even more powerful than she though and with the shield up it created a powerful knock back force as it spun.  Angel quickly shut off the motor and reset all the mechanisms.  But the whole thing had taken the wind out of her.  She felt her eye lids droop Denial dropped to the ground as she could no long hole him up with her chakra threads.  She droped to her own knee a moment later.  Crawling over to her puppet she fell asleep holding it.

When Angel awoke she felt sore all over but she looked up at the sun and smiled.  It was going to be a wonderful day.  She gathered up denial and re-wrapped him up in the bandages she had brought him ther in.  she began her trek home acting as normal as any 4 foot girl could carrying a 9 foot tall puppet home with her.
