This town was just filled to the brim with odd jobs. Now that Jamie had done most o the smithing that people were missing out on for however long they were without a smith (which had to be at least a few years), she still wanted some cash flow. Retaking her home would be costly, or so she guessed. She doubted their crew had the power to take it over completely unaided, even though she knew she was getting a lot stronger as time went on.

Turns out, when you have a goal, something to focus on, working to get stronger becomes a LOT easier.

So anyways, with work diminishing, Jamie was picking up odd jobs. Recently, a village elder had died. Nobody was surprised, his health had been failing for a year or so now. That he lasted this long was the truly odd part. Everyone was thankful that he passed in his sleep. Jamie's job was simple: she was helping dig the grave. Supposedly, there would be someone guarding the ceremony and the burial location for awhile (perhaps multiple someones?) since he was being buried with a significant amount of things. They wanted to prevent grave robbers from popping in and disrespecting him. Though, they likely would not pay for that indefinitely Jamie was pretty sure she had heard a rumor about how it took three days for a soul to peacefully pass on after the body was respectfully buried. Well, less a rumor and more local folklore. So chances are, they would have someone guard the man for three days. Well, probably a few people in shift if she was being fair. The digging went simply enough. Who would try to pull something on the grave digger? There was nothing worth anything here yet. That came later.

Either these were some really shady people in this town or someone had seen what he’d done when delivering the wedding gift and word got around. It was really creepy the way they looked at him and that was coming from someone with vertically slit pupils. Or perhaps they were all skeptical about the cause of the death they were preparing for, the blue haired male really didn’t care one way or the other. If anyone was going to say something to him they’d have done it by now though it seemed that Jamie had gone and gotten more details. Along with a new job, Ryal had already been forced to play with dead bodies and wasn’t about to do it again. Luckily they had a need for someone to guard the gravesite as well as the ceremony, light work. Though the golden eyed god suspected that they'd have someone watching him at the same time. The Shinkou sighed at that thought, hiring muscle that you don't trust, it made him shake his head. Meanwhile, Jamie had spent the day playing in dirt Ryal had been given the order of operations for the burial, it was late when they both finished since the villagers talked to him like an infant.

This is why he’d opted to take the first shift of night duty, the quicker he was done with this the better, so they wouldn’t see each other for about 24 hours. Thus in passing the two had a short chat about sealing techniques, once his job was over he’d likely see if her studying had been effective. Granted he didn't know many fuuinjutsu himself but he did have a jutsu encyclopedia that he didn't mind lending to her for some time. Reading in a cemetery at night would likely put him out in record time so he was better off working on mastering the skill and jutsu he couldn't quite activate yet.
