The First Storm [Village Destruction] - Page 8 Empty Re: The First Storm [Village Destruction]

Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:30 am
Upon hearing his death sentence, the young man sat up, disbelief written across his features. He knew they would do it, she could tell as he smiled sadly at her, using some of his last moments to silently communicate with her. Hikari bit her lip to keep from shedding the tears forming at the corners of her eyes, watching as his own eyes wrote a message to her. He loved her, as both a friend and sibling, and she tried to relay back her own message with her cloudy vision. Although they weren’t related by blood, she loved him just as much as her actual brother, and hoped the moment of sorrow she gave him delivered her love for him. He wouldn’t die alone, no matter how apart they were in that moment. She hoped he would know that, and know that she would see him again, one day as her own life escaped her lips.

He broke off their gaze then, ending their final moment together swiftly. She would never be able to hug or practice sparring with him anymore, the realization hitting her like a ton of bricks slamming into her back, weighing her down farther into the grave. Her gaze narrowed as Salzem made contact with Yensung, giving the decrepit man an ear full he most definitely deserved. It took her brother’s dying words for someone to speak out against the shinobi’s immoral actions. She was inwardly proud of her brother, seeking justice for his murder until the very end, when he no longer even had the strength to continue sitting up right as Yen’s hand sliced through his delicate flesh. Fresh blood dotted the area as Salzem coughed up blood, the liquid slowly oozing as he attempted to reach for Yensung through his barrier. Before Salzem could reach the Aburame with his furious hand, a flying projectile whizzed through the air, finding comfort in the warmth of Salzem’s neck. It seared through his body, breaking his spinal cord with ease, most likely paralyzing him from the injury down, his body landing roughly in the mud, blood mixing in a swirling pool around his neck. Hikari’s eyes traveled to the standing shinobi wielding a crossbow, the obvious owner of the projectile crippling her brother. She memorized his face and appearance, adding him to her ever growing list of betrayers, even if he might have had good intentions.

Amidst her empty thoughts watching the brutality of her brother and the man whose fault it recently was, warmth seeped over the Hyuuga’s left hand. Her lilac tinted eyes glanced down, on high alert as to what could possibly be touching her, and noticed Kotsuzui’s right hand. It seemed her grip had been far too tight, streaking the sword momentarily in crimson until the rain washed away the remnants of her pain, and had caught the attention of the young man standing beside her, her only remaining ally. He whispered quietly under the rain, for her ears only, and told her simply In time. She gave a slight, curt nod of acknowledgement at his words, having already come to the same conclusion moments earlier.

It seemed Kots was not the only one whose attention she caught, as Xyxer swiftly made his approach with the Hokage, or dare she say Former Hokage, in his arms once more. She was, surprisingly, thankful for the Mizukage having saved Risako’s life from the wicked clutches of Yensung Aburame. Now if only he had done the same for Salzem.

But he hadn’t.

He enjoyed, or so she could only imagine, Salzem’s mercilessly death, watching his eyes flutter close, his body embracing eternal slumber, his once warm skin turn icily cold.

Hikari released Samehada into Xyxer’s grasp, making sure he was holding onto the blade before her hands went to the woman he traded, for she did not want to drop his blade and be executed right on the spot. Hikari could not willingly die until she accomplished her mission of vengeance for her little brother. Thus she accepted the woman who fought bravely against a monster and lived to tell the tale, despite her broken spine and exhausted state, into her arms and held her safely. Risako had fought valiantly in the war against a stronger opponent, and she didn’t deserve to be damaged any further. Xyxer’s insulting remarks fell on deaf ears, the girl acknowledging that he spoke to her with a twist of her head in his direction, her eyes meeting his if he tried to make eye contact, yet she remained silent, her voice muted in her attempt at keeping her composure.

If all went according to plan, Xyxer turned back to the shinobi of Konohagakure, placing Samehada onto his left shoulder in a striking position. He began to speak to the crowd once more, firstly asking if they were afraid of him or dying. She had no doubt in her mind the whole lot of them were afraid, if they weren’t why would they have murdered a comrade to stay alive? Hikari would have freely placed herself in front of Salzem, dying in place of him or before his death, so she wouldn’t have had to suffer through the pain of injuring him. She would have gotten them all killed by her defiance, yet none of them knew how lucky they were that Xyxer had kept Hikari on the Kirigakure side. The standing kage then proceeded to order them back to the village, or what remained of it through the ashes.

Kots was ordered to follow Xyxer, and they, potentially, took Risako with them as they departed into the village, presumably to scope out the Hokage’s Office in search of important documents or the village’s ryo. Leaving Hikari to her own devices, a medic no longer needed nor able to be of any use. The sword of the kage had wiped out her chakra reserves, her body running on adrenaline to keep itself steady. Her mind slowly became hazy, her body tingling as an early sign it would become numb if she lost anymore chakra.

Hikari watched as the shinobi began to thin out, the Kiri forces getting to work on their individual tasks while the Konoha forces went back to the crumbled remains of their home, in pitiful attempts at salvaging the ruins. She stood there, the rain agonizing her as it pelted down, staring at the body of her beloved brother, and listening to the outrageous lies of the man who was his downfall.

Yensung Aburame apologized to the limp body, as if that would suddenly make his actions okay, more humane, forgivable. No, he had done the deed and now it was time for him to reap what he sowed. He couldn’t expect to be given mercy when he himself gave none to an already broken body. Yensung would face his punishment in due time, but today was not that day. Hikari glared daggers into his back as he left the scene, his mind already preoccupied on things besides the man he murdered. What a sickening man Yensung was.

The downpour was her only solace against the numbness she felt inside, the water chilling her to the bone as the only feeling she had. She deserved to be as frozen as the cold body in front of her, welcoming the thought of being with her brother briefly, memories of being together with him flashing across her mind. They were good times, happy and joyous occasions. The two were siblings but got along swimmingly, the closest thing to best friends she had ever known.

Hikari slowly blinked out of her thoughts, coming back to the cruel reality she was given, the world around her long since having moved on. She began walking towards the beaten foundations of the village, her hands in her pockets as she passed by the body on the ground, not daring to take a glance as she passed. Her time for mourning was over. She couldn’t afford to be weak any longer, not if she wanted to avenge Salzem.

From this moment onward, she would have to be like Xyxer of the Bloody Mist.

Ruthless, cold, clever,
but most importantly,

feared.

Fenrir finally arrived on the scene, clearly late as most of the activity had passed, but he could easily tell that something big had happened.  On one side, he saw the sad faces of the Konoha nin, and on the other, he saw the faces of victorious Kiri nin.  It was a stark contrast, to say the least.  He seemed to be the only one who didn't see what all had happened, and could only guess based on the faces of the two groups, which gave him a wide array of possibilities, most of which were at least a little horrifying.  His knee was still pretty fucked up, so he wouldn't be too useful for any tasks, and so he simply went to seek out medical-nin in who could help him with his injury.  Perhaps after it was fixed, he would actually be able to be useful.

The First Storm [Village Destruction] - Page 8 Empty Re: The First Storm [Village Destruction]

Kotsuzui watched from afar as Salzem gave a parting smile towards his direction. It was pretty obvious it was meant for Hikari standing right beside him. Judging by the way she reacted from his to-be execution, they were close. It wasn't the best way to say your goodbyes, but given the circumstances it was all they could really do. Thought Salzem was going to die with speaking his mind first. Everything he had to say seemed to be aimed solely at the smaller man. They must have had some kind of history because Salzem had a lot to say. Whether the wolf was done or not Kotsuzui did not know, but there was now a chakra blade stabbing into his gut. The first strike of many to come. It was pretty clear Yensung and Salzem knew one another. Though it was strange for Yensung to strike at the gut, as opposed to pretty much anywhere else. The gut would be an extremely painful blow as well as a horrible death, leaving Salzem to bleed out before passing. Though it seemed one of the Konoha ninja would put the dying wolf out of his misery by placing a well aimed shot into his neck.

Kotsuzui watched Kisuke as his partner simply moved in, stabbed the man, and went back to his position to kneel. It was hard to tell what Kisuke was thinking, whether the task was an easy one for him or not. If it had been a difficult one, Kisuke showed no signs of it. He did what had to be done and that was it. Those damned Uchiha's, too prideful to show a pull on their emotions. Speaking of Uchiha, where had Ita been? Kotsuzui remembered the Uchiha when he faced off against him in the Suna Jounin exams. Where had he been this entire time? What was the purpose of achieving Jounin if you weren't going to help defend your home in its time of need?

The Kaguya watched on as the invading Kage saved Risako from Yensung's jutsu. The child-like man had clearly lost his mind to the idea of power. Not only had he shown his own power and tried using it to rally the other Konoha nin, but now he tried taking out the acting Hokage. Did he think taking her out would lead to him becoming the next Hokage? Or maybe he was simply trying to make the route there easier without Risako in the way. Or maybe cowards will be cowards and he was trying to impress Xyxer any way possible. As far as Kotsuzui was concerned, Yensung was a low as someone who simply abandoned their village.

Xyxer moved on, approaching the two wielding his sword with their Hokage. He had come back for it, exchanging Risako for it. Kotsuzui's eyes did not break from Xyxer as he approached. Hikari took hold of Risako as they both handed him back his sword. He took a verbal shot at Hikari in regards to be unable to heal Risako. Though given enough time, Kotsuzui was sure she could heal Risako. So he paid no mind to the remark. He simply watched as Xyxer went back to speak to those kneeling. He spoke about fearing death. In some sad way Kotsuzui wished Xyxer had just killed him. Now he had to live with his failure. Failing to protect his home, and failing to kill Xyxer. He had his chance, twice. He failed both times. Some say third time's the charm right?

He ordered Konoha to go back to their broken homes. He gave his own men different orders, even those to help out with the reconstruction of the village. The village did belong to them now, what was the point of ruling a village if it was destroyed? However it seemed Kotsuzui would be the only one not free to go. He still wasn't done with the Kaguya. Knowing Xyxer, he likely also wanted Risako to be there as well. Despite all he had done, he refrained from killing the Hokage going as far as saving her from Yen. He clearly wanted her alive for something. "I'll take her" Kotsuzui spoke to Hikari as he placed his arms under Risako's knees and back and held up. The Hokage was light as a feather, having no problem holding her up. Kotsuzui gave one last glance over to Hikari, simply nodding without a word. He wasn't too sure what to say, not sure if there was anything to say. He knew they would meet again. So he turned and followed Xyxer into the village and wherever he was leading them.

The First Storm [Village Destruction] - Page 8 Empty Re: The First Storm [Village Destruction]

Upon taking up his kneeling position in the mud, the entire world around the Uchiha faded away. All sensation left his body. He no longer felt the cold rain rushing through his hair and down his face. He no longer herd the speech of those around him and the concluding words of the foreign leader. He did not notice when the Kiri shinobi started performing their tasks, picking up the weapons that littered the battlefield, clearing the corpses and starting on the repairs of the broken village. Kisuke was unaware of all of this. He remained knelt, staring aimlessly and unblinking at the slushy bud beneath him. Something had taken over the young Uchiha. The realisation of what this world truly entailed, what it truly meant to be a shinobi in a world without remorse, a world where only the strong survived. A world where ties, allies, village alliances and comradery were all feeble things, diminished to absolutely nothing once someones life was on the line. It was now all about survival of the fitest and Kisuke would have to become stone cold to survive in this world.

With darkness consuming him, Kisuke instinctively looked up, as if by some divine will. With drowsy eyes, filled with both a lack of feeling and a new found purpose the young Uchiha looked up to see Kotsuzui heading into the village. Alongside their new leader and the crippled Risako, the young Uchiha's jet black eyes followed them and remained locked on them till they were out of view. What was in store for Kisuke and Kotsuzu's future? The Kaguya being his best and really only friend, would Kisuke be able to sustain their relationship given the hard reality he came to understand. What use were best friends in a world where ties were meaningless and would only hold you down?

Like a heartless monster, created without the capability to feel, Kisuke finally rose to his feet. His clothes soaked in blood, dirt, sweat and rain. Ignoring everything and everyone around him, blind to whether anyone was trying to grab his attention or not or if Jace had been taken care of, Kisuke would head into the village, wandering aimlessly into an uncertain future.

The deed had been done. After everyone took their turn participating in the murder of a fellow Konoha ninja, the invading Kage went back to his own lines. He wasn't done with the small group just yet. It seemed he wanted his sword with him for his closing statements on all of this. He asked them if they were scared of dying, or scared of him, or both. Anyone who said they weren't were simply lying. Of course they were all feared for their own lives, otherwise they would never have helped in the the killing of Salzem. Something Kinzoku may never forgive himself for. He finished his final speech telling everyone to return to their broken homes and how times for Konoha will be changing. No more room for the weak and only the strong can survive. A reality Kinzoku had learned twice over already.

Slowly the Nazar stood himself up as Xyxer began giving commands to his own troops to set up patrol, take the dead, and help with reconstruction if required. Now they were going to have to live with the invaders. The Nazar's first instinct was to go to his usual spot and meditate to help him come to terms with all the had occurred, assuming his spot had not been destroyed. But he knew that could wait. He needed to check on his community and his home. See if they were alright and if his home had been burnt down. If so he'd begin it's reconstruction, without the help of the Kiri forces.

He quickly turned around back towards Konoha and made his way into the village, adjusting his hat as he did. There was no comfortable position he could place his hat in due to the wetness and heaviness of it. So he just left it as is, taking it a symbolism for his current situation. There would be no comfortable way to live with an accept the Kiri forces into Konoha, but it would be something he had to live with. For the time being.

Like a cornered beast, the Konohagakure ninja each banded together and crushed the boy whom Aryll had laid down at her feet. Thane’s hatch would close as the ninja approached, obscuring Aryll from view. She watched with a mixture of disgust and pity as they each took turns punishing the boy, before the last of them finally ended the poor child’s life.

The boy attempted to call out his own village for turning on him, and tried to give one last speech to his former allies, which was drowned out by his gasping and sputtering, likely choking on his own blood. His body finally stirred no more, and Xyxer dismissed the ninja back to their village. Aryll was curious what would come next, but as she saw the ninja beginning to leave, she would order Thane to scoop up the other body at her feet, that of Celeste. She held her in the same way she had before, carrying her back to the village. She wasn’t sure what she was to do with this poor child, but leaving her out in the open seemed unwise.

Mors’ emotions were mixed, the only one that stuck for those of the opposing village was disgust. This was why Mors did not like people. So selfish and so easily manipulated. How quick the guise of camaraderie disappeared when faced with choice of pride, or “self-preservation”. Through the eyes of Mors, it didn’t seem like the choice they made was one for the village, but one for each individual to save their own life. Not one hesitated in their actions it seemed to Mors. No pride, no respect, no nothing for the one they murdered, nothing but selfishness. But that was Mors’ personal opinion so it didn’t matter much to anyone else. So, for the time and for things to go over smoothly, he would keep his opinions to himself. To the best of his abilities, for the most part. Mors watched as the half guy, slipped into the sweet embrace of death, a somewhat bloody mess, but that was his price to pay.  All was said and done now and the brunt of it was over, it was time to clean up and prepare for the time ahead. Thus, Mors did as Kiri was ordered to, and helped with the clean-up and whatever else was needed. This proved to be beneficial for him, he learned more of the behavior of those beings he despised. Though he was disappointed, realizing he still had some strides to make in this world, before he could even begin to achieve what he wanted. So much on his mind, he needed time to unwind, but that had to wait as he had a job to do still. He’d pass through the gates and get to the task at hand.

The First Storm [Village Destruction] - Page 8 Empty Re: The First Storm [Village Destruction]

Everything after Anri's execution began to blur into one single moment until she was exposed to the elements falling from above in front of the entirety of the survivors of Konoha. Before she was brought down for her back to meet Xyxer's knee, all she could hear was the patter and splashing of rain into the mud. From out of nowhere her back seemingly exploded into a hair raising crack followed by surging pain that left her mostly unable to think, let alone move, or scream. The jacket around her midsection managed to save her spinal cord from being severed, however the discs located where Xyxer's knee made its savage connection had seen hairline fractures. The damage was enough that moving was next to impossible and the pain would be absolute hell to anyone who hadn't been conditioned, but it was repairable. Her left cheek was to the ground when she was dropped unceremoniously, and with each heave she pushed her face into the mud just a bit more. Once Xyxer finally announced Salzem's execution via village, she was too caught up in her own pain to really hear what had been decreed. So, as Yen stood up and thrust his hand into his midsection and began to put the dog out of his misery, she was overcome not with grief, not with pain, nor hatred. This was something more, as every fiber of her being wanted to stick her hand in Yensung's eyesocket, and pull while going hacking away at his neck with some dull instrument until it was finally freed in her hand. Other cruel and unusual punishments flashed across her mind for the rest who joined in, and Risako thinks she vowed to see these fantasies become reality.

Before she could muster up the strength to try and move Risako found herself scooped up atop Xyxer's foot before being handed off to Hikari and Kots. Her vision blurred around the edges, as the man handling was making the pain from her injury far worse before she ultimately succumbed to unconsciousness.
