Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Tue Sep 06, 2016 6:53 am
It was a day for training Kyousuke thought lighting a cigarette, before sending a bird with a letter to Genevieve. The sun was high and the wind blew gently. Grabbing his flak jacket the ninja headed towards the village training grounds. From there Kyousuke would likely have the girl look around for injured creatures. The girl did have a knack for the healing arts and Kyousuke had yet to show the girl any medical techniques, that would change today of course.

Maybe the basic medical technique would be a good start. It was the jounin’s go to for teaching the basics of medicine, but Genvieve did have more of an understanding than most, so maybe a high ranking technique was in order. Unfortunately, Kyousuke himself didn’t know any so they would both be learning something new today.

At the training grounds the ninja would wait for the girl to arrive. He may have been early an hour early to be exact. Why am do I always arrive so early? Likely the bird would have just dropped off the letter with the meeting place and time.

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Tue Sep 06, 2016 7:05 am
Genevieve had gotten the letter from one of those who had came in and trained her and she was excited to have a chance to train. She struggled a bit to drink up her morning portion of water before going to the grounds with a much smaller pale blue cup with a straw out of it, picking up the sugary pink skirts of one of her temple dresses as she tried to hurry over to the grounds to meet him.

The Church had been gracious enough to supply her with a small home and cover her expenses mostly, however it was difficult to transition from the elegant and graceful temple dresses and formal wear regarding her rank, to- well- 'common clothes'. It was even harder to show for tight articles like bras.

Though not half an hour early, She did arrive an hour early, long and vibrant locks tied into a braid; she waved and smiled to the much taller jounin, "Good morning, Master Kyousuke!" She called happily as she moved closer and noticed his flak jacket. She felt a bit embarrassed as she had forgotten to change into more 'casual clothes'. "Excuse my dress- I forgot to change after prayers this morning. Should I change?" She offered as she stopped in front of him and sipped on the straw connecting to the cup of water. To keep her hydrated and in solid form.

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Tue Sep 06, 2016 7:25 am
Apparently, the stars were aligned properly when this girl was made his student, she had arrived an hour ahead of time. I shouldn’t teach her my bad habits… Crap, that means no smoking. “Good morning, Genevieve. How are you today?” It seemed the girl had worn her priestess clothing, but the pair wouldn’t be doing anything to get them dirty so remaining in her garb would be okay.

“No need to change, I am just going to show you some medical jutsu today. Then maybe we can both learn a difficult one I’ve been studying.” Making a small protrusion (looks like a needle attached to his finger) on his finger he nicked his arm producing a droplet of blood. Making a boar hand seal, then a rat, and finally snake the ninja’s hands began to glow blue. Passing the hand over the wound sealed the small wound instantly, leaving behind no trace of its existence.

“This is the basic medical technique. It is mainly used for small cuts, had the wound been bigger it would have likely just scabbed over.” Making another small wound with his protrusion he introduced the wound to the girl. “Go ahead and give it a try.”

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

She smiled, pausing in taking quick and ginger sips of water, and gave him a cheerful nod, "Yes, I'm quite well!" And she was completely alert as he showed her the technique and she watched intently. This was training and she needed to pay attention and focus; two things that were not her particular strong suits but they were faults she was aware of. She set her bottle of water down, and repeated the signs that she remembered; Boar, Rat, and Snake.

The flickering blue flame of chakra started in her palms before wrapping around her hands up to her wrist, working on keeping it. The work of chakra was a bit difficult for her, but it was probably from lack of expertise- thankfully, he was willing to help and she was more than willing to learn.

Genevieve smiled up at her teacher, curious to know if she had met his expectations or not for the example of the jutsu. "Like this, Master Snow?" She questioned happily, before her smile faded as she remembered she didn't make a wound to heal. "Oh... I forgot to make an incision, I'm sorry."

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Tue Sep 06, 2016 7:57 am
The hand seals were spot on, as was the feel of the chakra. Looking closer everything about her performance was spot on, besides the lack of a target to try the jutsu on. It seemed the small prick on his arm had closed on its own, no medical jutsu needed. “Looks like I’ll have to make a bigger scratch.” He said rubbing the back of his head while turning the pointer finger on his right hand into a blade much like a scalpel. He made a small cut on the opposite arm presenting it to Genevieve. “Everything you did before was perfect, do that again and this scratch should be gone in no time.”

He waited for the girl to perform the jutsu, before moving onto the next.  Chakra anesthetic was relatively simple, but finding a way to use it without harming either of them would be tough. Maybe punching themselves in the arm? The basic medical technique could even fix bruises if the jutsu is given enough time.

With plans for the next technique set the ninja would weave the Hare, ox, and monkey seals. With the tips of his fingers ablaze with chakra he would plunge the fire a few centimeters into his skin. “This the chakra anesthetic jutsu, it can be used to numb an area for a short time. It is effective in the field when you need to perform a surgery, but the patient moves too much due to the pain.” His arm felt numb from the technique alone, maybe a demonstration was not needed.

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Tue Sep 06, 2016 8:12 am
Genevieve Gave a warm but apologetic smile as he rubbed the back of his neck and used himself once more as a living practice dummy. She repeated the Boar, Rat and Snake hand seals then controlled her chakra to spiral around her palms once more, and moved forward. She hovered her hand over the wound, letting the chakra lick it clean and closed, before she slowly pulled her hand away. Giddy with excitement that the wound seemed to be healed, and she turned her attention to Master Snow once more and he moved on to the the next lesson- Chakra Anesthetic. She had read up on it, but books and real practice were two totally different things.

But much like the technique he just showed her, she was more than eager to broaden her horizons and widen her knowledge of medical techniques; they would be most helpful in spreading the Love of the High Lady.

Since her parents had found out that she held a knack for medical jutsu, they had encouraged her to read up on anatomy of the human body before she went into the field as an Attending Priestess. and She watched the hand seals she carefully displayed, before repeating them once more; Hare, Ox, and Monkey. The blue flame of chakra dispersed like sparks to her fingertips and cooled to small flames, "Would it not be easier if we applied the anesthetic above the wound, then down to the wound, Master Snow?" She inquired as she did so by touching her fingertips faintly to his inner elbow and sliding them down his forearm towards his wrist, "So that the anesthetic can travel and numb the whole area, just in case the surrounding blood tapers the numbing effects?" She asked as she looked up at him for an answer, blinking curious steel-blue eyes.

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Tue Sep 06, 2016 8:31 am
Looking over his wound it seemed closed and the jutsu had indeed been a success. “Good work.” He would say moving his healed arm around. Indeed, the girl had a talent for medical jutsu, had his wound not healed on her first attempt she would have had it done her first try. Surely chakra anesthetic would only take a couple minutes for Genevieve to learn.

“Good question.” Kyousuke said taking a brief second to think of a response. “Applying the anesthetic above the wound would have little effect, as it is the nerves you are attempting to numb. There are pain receptors throughout the body, when a stimulus causes us pain these receptors send a signal to the brain and the brain processes the information rapidly. The brain converts the signal into what we experience as pain. Pain is just the brains way of telling the body something is dangerous. The use of the anesthetic is to either slow or stop the signal from sending all together.” Hopefully, Genevieve understood as it always felt odd when Kyousuke gave explanations. According to Shiroi, Kyousuke was no professor.

So, the yin healing wound destruction happens by focusing medical chakra into a specific part of the body. Its use it to heal damage as it happens, meaning a cut will heal without need of medical attention as will burns. Focusing onto his arm he waited for the scab from his previous cut to disappear. It remained, it was just as the jounin thought. The jutsu required a level of fine chakra control, as chakra had to be converted and moved just for the purpose of healing. Maybe Genevieve would have a better time at the jutsu or maybe she would find it just as difficult as Kyousuke is. It would be nice if he could teach the girl this technique, that way she could go home learning a pretty high ranking technique that could save her life. The jutsu Kyousuke had already shown her were merely basic first aid in comparison.

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

She stared at him as he spoke and smiled as he explained it to her. Hhr mind a sponge for new information, no matter the form, and she drank it all in hungrily like a thirsty cat lapped up milk. And she focused on the technique for the anesthetic as she smiled, "I understand, Master Snow. I was just wondering, but thank you for explaining it to me." Genevieve smiled up at him, and continued to focus on the chakra in her fingertips.

If the current was too strong, it could hurt him. If it wasn't enough, it wouldn't work the way it was suppose to. She focused on it swirling in her fingertips in a constant and steady flow- but felt bubbles. She spared a bit of her mind to smooth them out to continue the fluid flow and smiled a bit when it eased to her will. The Chakra was hers as much as she was its'. It was in the teachings that all things were whole, all sides of the coin were one coin. Chakra was the same and she looked but at the man willing to train her since she stepped out from the Church grounds- something she would be eternally grateful for.

"What now, Master Snow?" She asked eagerly, wanting to learn as much as she could.

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Wed Sep 07, 2016 12:10 am
Genevieve must have been paying attention as he said everything as she didn’t ask more questions, instead she went back to work on the jutsu. It was refreshing Kyousuke was sure he wouldn’t have remembered all of that correctly and it would come out not making any sense. Looking at his fingers he knew there would be nicotine on them. Just a little bit? No! Do not give into temptation think of those who look up to me. He was poised to drag his fingers to his lips, but stopped midway. Surely, the girl would lose respect if a priest were to give up so easily to his thoughts.

As Genevieve numbed his arm he could feel the chakra flow through him. Indeed, his arm was really numb now. It felt like a phantom was hovering over his limb dragging it down. “I can’t feel my arm.” He would say meaning she had indeed succeeded. The extra dose made it even awkward to move as he tried to shake off the feeling. It wouldn’t go away though as it took time to wear off, unlike a normal shot of lidocaine the atoms of chakra could not be burned or processed easily. The only thing that would separate them was time.

As his un-hampered arm moved to explain the next task his other fell limp. “This jutsu is one I am still working on. There are no hand seals the only thing for it is to convert chakra within your body, by giving it healing properties. Next you channel the energy into a desired location within yourself and it heals you. Either as damage is taken or maybe even after.”

“With that in mind a bit of sparring may go very well when learning this technique.” If the priestess agreed Kyousuke would get into a fighting stance of course he would not be battling with all he had that would prove ineffective. He had to battle hard enough to make it a challenge, but not so hard that attacks would go unseen and the spar over in moments.

Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art! Empty Re: Priestesses and Priests Healing is an Art!

Wed Sep 07, 2016 1:44 am
Genevieve smiled happily to see that her training was successful and he had voiced so, she stopped and picked up her bottle of water, drinking from it as he listened to him further. And then he took a stance as if he was preparing to attack her and she blinked before setting her cup down, “Oh, we’re fighting? Just a moment, Master Snow, let me take off some of my robes so they won’t get dirty.” She said and walked off to the nearest tree, taking off the bangles and jewelry that came with her finer garment of prayer, and the thinner, more delicate fabrics. Leaving her in a plain white dress, something similar to a sundress, that came to just past her knees and modestly covered her chest. She trotted back over to stand in front of him,

Thinking that now, he wished to spar, and though she was a bit nervous going up against someone twice her size in mass, that didn’t make her hesitate. She slipped down, scooped up her water, and turned into a puddle of water that slid under him, before skillfully reforming behind him. As if she had simply skid under him past his legs and stood back up, Genevieve sipped idly on her water once more to help keep her a solid mass.

[Hydrification: -5 AP for Puddle Form, -5 AP for Reformation]

However, she glanced back at the larger man, “And we are to fight seriously now, Master Snow?” She questioned and smiled apprehensively, “I’m afraid I don’t know too many moves.” It was the fact of her religion; outward, unsolicited violent advances- like attacking people- was prohibited and forbidden. But that didn’t stop a stray priest from going out of his way. And that wasn’t going to stop ‘Lady Genosis’, who had been working on studying and practice. She had found that she could harden parts of her body, but it never lasted longer than a few seconds, if that. It was still something she needed to work on, but she had other things to put her mind too. Like watching her back to make sure that any attacks from her master were met.

In actuality, it was going to be a very good chance to see how quick she was on her toes and how well she could control her strange ability of reforming her body. It was a great chance to test it out better, and she had gone out of her way to over-hydrate herself.
