PostSubject: Training (P)   Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:16 pm

The early morning sun crested over the horizon as Gin breathed in deeply of the cool air that remained from the night before. The orange orb of fire slowly rose to replace it’s pale brethren and to guide the people of the world throughout their day. Gin stood, under the watchful gaze of the waning starlight and the ever present scowl on the face of his father. The tall man stood before him, arms crossed over his chest as he tried to incinerate his son with a glare. The silver haired teen himself would be resting his hands on his knees, panting for breath. He’d be battered, bruised, and exhausted. These of course, were things he could live with. That however did nothing to stem the onslaught of confused thoughts constantly entering his mind.

‘Why is he training me?’ He thought for what must have been the thousandth time that morning. The abusive father had woken the boy up about four hours ago and told him to come along with him. That they were going to train so he could get a measure of his son’s worth. They proceeded to travel for a few hours before stepping at a small oasis in the desert. Gin found it odd that they had found one that was unoccupied by bandits or something, but at least they had a fresh source of water nearby. What proceeded from then on was the chunin level man to come at Gin with everything he had. Effectively tearing the boy apart piece of piece. This time however Gin didn’t feel as if he would be killed for striking back, for making it a true fight. So fight he did, with everything he had he used his so far limited jutsu repertoire to fight back against his father.

One interesting thing of note was his fire. The flames that he had been getting used to using since he became a genin were now silver. This caused his old man to raise an eyebrow in confusion before deciding to test these flames of his sons. This prompted the man to use his own ninjutsu against him. See, while Gin was of the fire element, his father was lightning. He also had an astoundingly powerful lightning element and he had at this point singed the first layer of skin off the teenagers body and numbed it all to hell so he could barely feel anything at all. His hands were jerky, and difficult to use due to the numbness, and his vision was getting spotty. His breath came in haggard breathes and he honestly felt like he could collapse at any moment. He was simply waiting for the word to take a break at this point. He wouldn’t let himself fall until it was said. Couldn’t allow himself to rather, or the older male would simply skip the break and work harder to make his life a living hell.

“Sit.”

The man would say, a critical eye on Gin as he collapsed to the ground an exhausted mess. His breathes came in fast, short spurts, trying to desperately to get air into his lungs. Even saying laying here hurt immensely as he felt every bit of his body that was touching the ground erupt in such pain and agony that he almost blacked out himself. He struggled to get himself up to the water nearby for a drink before his father held out a hand to force him to stop before moving toward the water himself with a waterskin. He’d proceed to fill it up all of the way before bringing the water to his son. Gin would be confused but he would hesitantly take the proffered waterskin from the man who sired him. Taking long gulps he’d soon empty half the skin before passing it back. It had an odd taste to it, but he attributed that to the lightning element making his body, his tongue included, numb. It was the only reason he didn’t speak to be honest, he simply couldn’t.

His father would close the waterskin before moving toward a nearby tree and lean against, arms crossed once more. Gin himself would rest for a few more minutes before slowly getting himself off the ground. Break time was over, it was time to start training once more. He’d turn toward his father and nod his head in the ready signal before moving through a few quick hand seals he had picked up recently. This fireball jutsu was a technique he had been working on in his spare time. It was now simply time to demonstrate it he felt. He’d flash through the hand seals before taking a deep breath. The fire chakra would coalesce in his lungs, ready to be expelled from his mouth like wave of death. He would be just about to exhale the large ball of flame before a hard strike to his stomach stunned him.

His mouth gaped open, saliva shot out and he would be forced to one knee. But his father hadn’t moved. It was then his eyes would take note of another man. This one was burlier, and about the same height as Gin himself at 6’2. He had a cocky and satisfied grin on his face as Gin collapsed to the ground. The man would raise a foot over Gin’s head, ready to slam it down to knock him out when the fire user heard the voice of his father. “Hurry it up, knock him out and take him. He won’t be able to embarrass me anymore if you take him.” Horror would proceed to shoot through Gin’s being for an instant before the boot came crashing down, knocking him out in an instant.

PostSubject: Re: Training (P)   Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:58 pm

He awoke to the feeling of movement, he didn’t know where in the hell he was but he knew he was moving. Carried? Had to be, he wasn’t under his own power. His whole body felt sluggish as hell, he could barely move it at all. Not like he wanted to, he didn’t want them to know that he was awake until he could figure something out. The scorching heat that came down on them told him it was the middle of the day but something thick covered his head. A burlap sack of some kind? His hands and feet were bound so making hand seals was out of the question. He could hear the wooden creaking of a wagon and the heavy hoof prints of horse hooves as they moved through the wastelands of Haven Country. ‘Where in the hell are they taking me? What happened?’ He’d ask himself as he tried to remember and organize the hazy memories. His whole body hurt, which made this process difficult as the pain was distracting. It was almost as if he’d lost a layer of skin somehow, and he was exhausted and had a raging headache to boot.

All of a sudden it all came back to him. His father waking him up in the morning to train, the journey out into the desert. The brutal sparring, his exhaustion, the water, the kidnapping, everything. Like a flood every memory came back all at once that it felt like his head was going to explode. Soon enough he had himself under control though, and he tried to piece together the situation he was in. What had his father done to him this time? He’d had to find out he guessed. He focused on what he could sense about his surroundings. He didn’t know how long he was out, but the sun was beating harshly against his back. But the breeze was blowing into his face. He tried to think but couldn’t remember what direction it was blowing in earlier. Damn, that meant he’d have to figure out some other way to figure out where in the hell he had been sent.

“How much farther from the base?” A gruff voice would ask as they traveled slowly through the desert. Gin would listen intently to this conversation at this point, as if he could get an idea of how long he’d been traveling and how far they were from their destination then maybe he could get some idea as to where in the hell he was at the moment. “A few more hours at least, and you know it. So shut the hell up. You know as well as I do I have to keep changing directions for a while to make sure we aren’t followed or tracked.” Another voice said. This one sounded nasally, almost like the man was a lanky build. But of course, without his eyes he couldn’t be sure. One thing was for certain though, at those words Gin’s world would shatter temporarily. If they had been taking a random route than that meant he had no way of knowing how far they had actually traveled from the oasis. Nor did he had any idea how far they really were from this ‘base’ they mentioned.

This meant he’d have to figure out another way to get out of this situation. He couldn’t run, his hands and feet were tied, and for some reason his chakra seemed to drained to far lower levels than he would like. Did that mean he wasn’t out for long? Were his restraints draining his chakra? He just couldn’t tell. But he had to hope they would come back soon, or else he would be in a world of trouble. The silver haired genin would begin to focus on his chakra coils, trying to ‘meditate’ as it were to help draw out his chakra, anything would help in this situation. Some small boon to assist him here. It was the next few words spoken by the gruff voice, which Gin would assume to be the man who initially knocked him out. “Well well well, it appears our silver haired little traveling companion is awake.” He would say. The blood in Gin’s veins ran cold as suddenly the wagon jerked to a halt. He felt the man stand up and hop out of the front of the wagon. He’d come around the back, open up the door and step in. “Go ahead and keep going, I’ll keep this one company instead, he’ll be better company than you anyway.” The gruff voice would say to the man driving. “Yeah, yeah.” The nasally voice would reply as he snapped the reins a bit to make the horses start moving.

Gin would steel himself for what was to come. Whatever it might be, after all you never knew with brigands like these. “I’m going to remove the sack from your head, and you’re going to keep looking dead at me, do you understand? If you move your eyes or head in any direction to try to see where you are I’ll kill you here. Am I clear?” The man would say, Gin would of course nod to these commands. After all what could he do? The sack would be removed and Gin’s eyes would stay forward, the only bit of a movement from them was when he adjusted them to look at his captors eyes. The hazel eyed prisoner wondered if he would hit him for that, but he didn’t seem to care as he held a water skin up to Gin’s mouth and forced him to drink. The boy would hungrily do just that, grateful for the life giving liquid. It would take a few moment for Gin to realize that the odd taste from before was still there. As in the same odd taste he had tasted in his father waterskin. But he knew his tongue wasn’t numb this time. His eyes would widen in realization as he figured out what was sapping his chakra. ‘The water is spiked with something that keeps my chakra drained!’ he yelled mentally. It was the last thing he did as a sharp impact slammed into the side of his head. Once again sending him back to darkness of unconsciousness.

Gin awoke with a grown as the sound of dripping water filled his ears. The cool damness of a cave is what greeted him as he slowly opened his eyes to figure out where in the hell he was. ‘The last thing I remember was… The back of the wagen… my old man… that’s right.’ He thought as he slowly remembered everything that had transpired recently. Of course he had no way of knowing how much time had passed since he had been taken. He did however know that he was alive, and that was the best he would be able to get in this case he felt. He slowly looked at his surroundings, he was in the back of a cave. It wasn’t lit up worth a damn, probably to keep him from being able to see well so that every person coming in to torture him or whatever simply had that much more of an effect on him. He was alone back here, and he still couldn’t feel his chakra. He turned toward another part of the wall and could plainly see drops of water coming from the ceiling to smack on another rock. This meant they were either nearby another oasis, or in a different country altogether. But that was as far as he could figure.

He could feel his chakra pools resting at empty. The poison in their water seemed to be effective, that was definitely for certain. He had to figure out a way out of this and get out of here. God only knows what the hell they had planned for him when they finally got around to him. It would only be a matter of time before someone came in to either torture him or try to get information of some kind out of him. He slowly raised himself into a sitting position, resting his back against the wall and shutting his eyes. So many different emotions were going through his being right now. Anger, betrayal, hurt, desperation, sorrow. He couldn’t take time to deal with these though. There were still things he simply had to do. Find out who had him, what their plan for him was, and a way out were all higher priorities than getting his emotional state into a decent place right now. So he shoved those emotions away, pushing them down into his being to be dealt with later. He worked to try to wriggle his arms out of their bindings but it was no use. He couldn’t even escape these bounds without chakra, as the rope escape jutsu, while useful, still needed some.

He would be interrupted by his analysis of the situation by hearing a metal door squeak further up the cave. ‘So it’s a long term base..’ He thought as he let himself lay back down as he was before and regulated his breathing. He did so quietly, hoping the person coming down would be the type to talk and gloat to an unconscious boy. Besides, if he could keep them from knowing he was awake yet then it gave him more time to figure out what he was going to do. Something that was incredibly useful in this situation. Suddenly he would be able to make out large, heavy footfalls making their way down the cave. ‘Either he stopped to hold a conversation, get something, or this cave is deeper than I expected.’ The silver haired captive thought, always trying to get every bit of information he could get. Suddenly, the footfalls would stop not far from him before the gruff voice from the wagon spoke. “Still not awake then eh? Well that matters little, you’ll be here awhile until we can find a buyer. Of course it’ll take awhile as most people aren’t willing to buy registered shinobi. Left too much of a trail, but eventually we’ll find someone who won’t mind so much.” The man would say as turned to walk away. Gin would listen carefully to the footfalls, trying to gauge just how large the cave was based on how long it took the man to get out of the cave.

Of course this would prove difficult as Gin had never gotten a very good look at just HOW big the man was. He simply knew he was big, one might consider him an idiotic lummox if they weren’t careful. But Gin did his best anyway, as what else could he do in this situation. After a minute or two the sound of the metal door opening and closing would reach his ears again. This reminded him that it seemed to be a long term base. As you didn’t install metal doors like that in a place you didn’t intend to stick around in. Not only that but the door sounded heavy, meaning it was used to keep prisoners specifically. He briefly wondered if there was a guard on the other side. That was something he could figure out for himself later, there didn’t seem to be any kind of secondary gate within the cave, so he could assume that he was able to freely move about it. Of course he was still bound by his arms and legs. But he wondered if that in it of itself would last. He simply had no way of telling and he disliked this greatly. There were simply too many factors and too much information that he didn’t know in order to make an effective plan. They would also undoubtedly keep him chakraless through feeding him. An ingenious plan as he would have to eat to survive. But if he did he had no way to escape whatsoever. His bodies own needs and necessities kept him chained. Of course if he had access to his chakra in the first place he could survive for a while without food or water, most ninja could. As they could use their very energy to sustain themselves in most cases. But they had managed to get him exhausted. His father’s role in all this no doubt, after all if he exhausted him it would be a simple matter to poison him and then keep him that way.

They would probably force the water down his throat if he refused to drink it, making sure he stayed weakened until they could find a buyer. Which was another point of interest. He had been sold to slavers. Still, it was surprising to find that they seemed to be treating him a humanely as they were. There was no one else in this cave with him. Did they have a network of them that allowed them to do this? Or were they simply low on merchandise? Gin again, had no damn way to know. He fought to keep the frustrated growl from his lips, lest they hear it and come back down to investigate and torture him. That he had no doubt would happen. He doubted their buyers had access to their poison. Meaning they would have to break him, completely and utterly, so he wouldn’t try to escape. It was simply a matter of time until it began, as a matter of fact he wondered if that had been the initial reason for the large man’s visit. He sighed lightly before beginning to force his body to sleep, he felt he would need all of the energy he could get soon. So conserving that energy and resting were within his best interests.

Gin would awaken once again at a later time. He could not tell exactly what time it was due to the fact that he was trapped in the back of a cave. He could however tell it was dark out due to the fact that he was able to see his breath. It was cold, very much so, and he felt himself shivering in the back of this cave alone. Everything was coming back to him again, the fighting with his old man, the slavers and trip through the desert. He momentarily felt a spark of rage ignite within him regarding this whole situation. He would need to find a way out, quickly. Searching his chakra pools he found he had chakra again! It wasn’t much, but it was slowly increasing with time as the time frame that he went without any of their poisoned water increased as well. This was a problem though, as he didn’t know how long it would take to get his chakra fully restored. Once he was he could torch this place without too much issue. However, he did not know how much time had passed since he last went to sleep when the lead slaver came in. He furrowed a brow at this, he was thirsty. It WAS a desert after all. He desperately needed a drink already and if this was only amount of chakra he had regained from whatever time had passed then he wouldn’t last until he full.

He’d look around and sure enough, a water skin would be sitting nearby, full to the brim of not only his way of survival, but his most powerful chain. As a matter fact it was now that Gin noticed that he was not restrained anymore. Rubbing his wrists subconsciously, at the missing manacles he would sigh and grab the water skin. He wouldn’t be escaping here that quickly. He would need to find out what in the hell was in the water. Obviously it couldn’t be lethal, as they would not be stupid enough to give their ‘merchandise’ a way out no matter the context. Unscrewing the cap to the water skin Gin would take a long slow draw. Immediately feeling relief in regards to his thirst, but dismay at how quickly how could feel his chakra diminishing again he sighed in defeat. He had hoped maybe it would take time for it to take effect. Or that it wouldn’t reduce his chakra at all but just keep it from renewing itself anymore. Either would be welcome in this situation as one meant he could just keep waiting until his thirst was overwhelming, eventually regenerating chakra in the process. While the other meant that he would have some sort of time limit. However he would be able to get at least a bit of a gauge of how long it took to start working.

Sadly, neither were the case as he immediately felt his chakra begin to fade. A tired sigh escaped his lips before he heard the large metal doors open. Time for a visit then? He doubted he’d be able to get away with faking sleep this time. No, it was time to meet his captors for real this time. Slowly, he could feel the heavy footfalls echo down the cavern as the man he knew was coming slowly made his descent. The silver haired captive would be counting the seconds it took for the man to get down to him at the easy going pace the man was using. In the end it took about twenty seconds. That made the cavern a fairly decent size also meant that once Gin got free he could escape the place within five. Or at least make it to the door if he moved as fast as he could. He catalogued that and put it away in his memory. Trying to remember all of these small things to help him mount an escape later on. When he somehow regained the use of his chakra.

At this point the large man would turn the final corner and Gin would be able to see him now. Hazel eyes took in the appearance of the large man as he walked forward. A casual expression on his face. He didn’t seem particularly sadistic, nor gleeful to see his captive awake. Instead he merely nodded his head at recognition of this fact before moving a bit closer. Gin himself would be sitting against the back wall of the cavern, the water skin nearby closed up as he watched the man get closer. Eventually the slaver would get about three meters away from Gin and stop. Not intending to get any closer apparently. At this point he would give the boy a look that felt more like he was window shopping and not looking at a living, breathing human being. But then again in slave trading, and prostitution, that look certainly had its place didn’t it?

“You need to drink to keep up your strength you know.” The man would say before the sound of more footfalls on the stone met the ears of the silver haired boy. “Keep up my strength or drain it?” The captive would say to the man with a raised eyebrow. Getting emotional wouldn’t help right now. He knew when times like that would occur due to the vicious beatings his father gave him. Indeed it would seem the lessons he taught himself during those times might come in handy here. The towering man would shrug casually, as if the response didn’t warrant an answer before doing so anyway. “It’s no shock that you figured out what was going on. So let me clarify. Yes, the water had been tainted to drain and prevent your chakra from recuperating. The door at the mouth of the cave is reinforced metal. I doubt a bijuu would be able to tear it off it’s hinges if it didn’t decide to blow up the mountain it was in instead.” He would say, ticking off these points on his hand as the footfalls got louder and a smaller man, carrying a tray of some kind came into view. “Finally, you have no idea where we are, what time or day it is, and you need to drink the water to survive. If you die it makes no real difference to me. You’ll just be wasted product then.” He would say as the smaller man carrying to tray came up next to him and continued on to set the tray down in front of Gin. “Obviously water alone won’t keep your strength up. You’ll find a new skin of water by the door each morning which will be delivered through a slat in the door. Food will be brought in once a day, plenty to keep you strong physically. So you won’t have to worry about that, we need you to be healthy for your new life. After I break up of course.” He would state as he continued to inform Gin of what his foreseeable future would be comprised of.

“The food will be brought in once a day, as I’ve stated before, however the times will differ and either myself or my partner will accompany this one here to deliver it.” He would state while gesturing toward the smaller man who had the nerve to smile and wave pleasantly. Not a word was said by him though. He had a shock of brown hair and freckles. But he wore dark goggles which hid his eyes from view. “You don’t have to worry about your food being poisoned. The process in which we do it can’t be done to the food for certain reasons.” He would state before thinking for a few moments before shrugging. “I won’t start trying to break you quite yet, not physically at least. You get another day or so before that begins.” He would say with a matter of fact tone. He didn’t particularly portray an enjoyment for what came next. Merely considering it a part of the job. “Any questions?” He would ask, raising an eyebrow at Gin at the obvious question that came to everyone’s mind. The wielder of silver flames would sigh intently before looking up at the man after looking at his food. “Two, the obvious one, why? And what in the world do I call you?” He would ask simply, curiosity and intent visible within his eyes. The large man would chuckle heartily before taking a deep breath. “I’ll answer those out of order if you don’t mind. First, you won’t know my name, or anyone’s for that matter. It might surprise you, but we have lives out there, and even in Hoshigakure itself. I’m not too worried about you finding out where I’m really from in the city, but the others? They don’t like to take chances and I won’t force them to show themselves. On the off chance you do get out though I don’t want you knowing our names. But that’ll be a real long shot, trust me.” He would say before nodding his head toward the food “I’d eat while it’s still hot, it gets cold as shit in here.” He would say, prompting Gin to go ahead and eat. The more he seemed cooperative the more information he might be able glean. He was of course, also starving, but he wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of knowing that.

“As for why? I don’t mind telling you that, after all I find it amusing as hell.” He would start, a wicked grin coming onto his face. Showing Gin that the man did in fact have a sadistic side. “See, we were hired to. Daddy dearest didn’t want you around anymore. So he wanted us to make you disappear. Slave labor was the easiest way. You seemingly disappear and without violence on his part. No murder weapon to hide, no nothing. That’s why you left to train at such an ungodly hour. No witnesses.” He would say, finishing with a shrug. Gin would roll his eyes at this “Of course he’s the one who did it. That’s not what I meant, do you know why HE did it? My old man’s a talkative bastard at times. But he never did tell me why he hated me so much.” He would say as he began eating. Some kind of meat, he couldn’t tell what but it wasn’t bad, and it was hot. Rice was involved too, he only had the water to drink it down with. Which he reluctantly used. ‘Of course they’d purposefully use dry foods to make sure I have to drink with my meals.’ He thought as the man seemingly had a great deal of trouble keeping in his laughter. “You mean you never knew why? Kid I can tell you that.” He would say with a cruel smirk on his face as he prepared to enjoy this next part greatly. “It’s because of your curse.” He said with a shrug, holding up a hand at the confused look on Gin’s face “Let me elaborate.” He would say, prompting a hesitant nod out of the boy.

“You’re father, when he was younger, based on the story he told me anyway, discovered he had a curse. One that prevented him from learning any other elemental jutsu other than one. He had dreams, of becoming a powerful and well respected shinobi you see. But those were dashed when he discovered that he could never learn any other element. After all, how was supposed to become one of the greats without any real versatility?” He would ask with a shrug “The furthest he ever got was Chunin, then he quit and decided to have a family. I wanted a powerful shinobi child who would succeed where he failed.“ He would say, continuing on when Gin’s expression turned to shocked realization “Imagine his hatred and despair when he realized it was hereditary. Face it boy, you’ll never learn another element, you’ll never make it higher than Chunin at best.” He would say with a dark chuckle as he turned to exit the cave. Leaving Gin alone with his thoughts as he laughs could be heard all the way down the cave.

Gin himself suddenly felt hollow, empty. ‘So I’ll never learn anything else other than fire huh? I guess that means there really isn’t a point in continuing on in my shinobi career is there?’ He would think to himself as he slowly continued to eat. The motions were all mechanical at this point, he had checked out mentally long before he finished the meal. After eating he would numbly stare at the wall across from him. His mind completely gone at the time went on. At some point he would finally fall asleep, although he’d never be able to tell anyone how long he sat there staring before he did.

“You know, you could scream a little, cry a bit, it would make this a hell of a lot less boring for me.” The large man would state as Gin felt the bone crushing force behind his leg slam into his body like a freight train. Gin would continue to passively stare up at the ceiling as his body was flung haphazardly across the cave. Landing and rolling over a few times due to force of the blow. He didn’t grimace, flinch, or cry out in pain due to the fact that he was still ‘checked out’ due to the life shattering news he had received. The days after that were spent getting his ass beat by the large man for multiple hours in the day before mechanically eating and drinking what was provided out of necessity. What was the point after all? He wouldn’t be able to escape, and even if he did he’d never be able to make it as a shinobi. He thought back to those that were in the village that he had met. Saluluna, Mo-Ri, and Rosa, in particular. The three shinobi he had actually met and associated with outside of his home. He wondered what they might think, his mind aimlessly moving toward the three individuals that, beside his father, he had spent the most time with in recent memory.

Saluluna… would probably not care. She’d probably make some quip about being ‘hot’ about it and pulling him into her place to do the horizontal dance. This brought a wave of sadness from him. As he had grown fond of the girl, very much so in fact. She had disappeared shortly after their last meeting. He never did get to hear what the striking, pale haired, eye patch wearing girl wanted to ask him either. A regret that would stay with him for the remainder of his days, despite the fact that they hadn’t known each other very long he had very much become accustomed to the girls flirtatious personality that so easily melded with his own.

Mo-Ri would shrug and say something along the lines of ‘So? I can’t use mine for most things, am I quitting?’ He’d probably proceed to dance around with his staff again and slam it into the ground with enough force to crater the fucking place, laughing all the while, odd eyes sparkling with mischief as he put Gin through his paces in a spar to beat some sense into him and show him that he wasn’t weak just because he could only use one chakra nature. If anything it would make him stronger because he’d have to find more way to utilize what he had to an efficient degree. That was what Gin had liked about his fellow shinobi when they first met. He had a boundless energy about him and forced to see things on the bright side.

Rosa was..a conundrum. The pinkette was exceptionally hard to read at times, but he was slowly getting the hang of her thoughts and such when they parted ways at the end of their,  rather eventful, training session. His thoughts drifted toward her thinking along the same lines as his father. That he would never be strong enough to matter and that he should quit while he could. Those thoughts however were quickly shaken from his mind. Either by himself, or the brutal kick the large oaf trying to ‘break him’ delivered. He decided she wouldn’t care, because it wouldn’t really matter to her. It was his own struggle and if he could manage it then more power to him. For ‘Pinky’ as he fondly called her and she, from what he could tell, disliked being called. Would think more along the lines of ‘As long as he didn’t cause someone’s death because of it then it doesn’t really matter.’ Or something, he didn’t know for sure, after all they had only truly met once and the girl was exceedingly difficult to read. But he decided that she would think that as long as it didn’t overtly affect her then it wouldn’t matter to her in the slightest.

If anything the silver haired genin wanted to spend more time with her now after coming to revelation. Because in the end, that was an assumption. The other two he had gotten the ‘feel’ of per say but her, she was still an unsolved puzzle to him. It drew him into wanting to learn more. To solve each riddle and twist and turn within her personality to see what made her tick. He would have to try to get some of her valuable time from her when he got home, IF he got home. Probably offer to teach her more techniques, and if he could melt some of the ice that gripped her personality, a light lunch.

All of this didn’t matter if he didn’t manage to get through this thought. But in the end, if those around him could accept the information and not bat an eyelash then why couldn’t he? If Mo-Ri couldn’t utilize chakra in most ways  at all then why couldn’t he manage with just his fire? It wouldn’t make sense to assume he couldn’t make it until he was truly tapped out. His eyes hardened in determination and a silvery fire began to be visible within them as he felt his chakra forcefully increase as his connection with his element strengthened dramatically. The large man would stop suddenly, his eyes widening in realization of what was happening before grabbing the nearby water skin in a frenzy and forcing the liquid down the teens throat. Trying to stop his chakra pools from regenerating. The liquid, kept cool from the cave, was forced onto the captive, and he felt his chakra levels decrease and flatline once more. He sputtered out once or twice before forcing himself into a sitting position. His eyes moving to his captor and eyeing him carefully, the fire in his eyes never once dissipating.

The large man turned and moved up the cave. The amount of poison he had shoved in the boys system should easily keep him grounded for the next day or so. He would have to increase the potency if he was going to continue keeping him captive though. They would also need to move up the time table for ‘breaking him’ drastically. They couldn’t risk another situation like that, especially if it could be more powerful than this one. ‘What kind of ‘curse’ is this?..’ The man thought as he shut and locked the heavy metal door behind him. Closing off Gin from the rest of the world once more.

Back to the potential ‘slave-to-be’ he was looking down at his hands in confusion. He had never felt quite this powerful of a connection with his element before. His entire body felt like it was on fire but not in a bad way. As if his latent chakra was burning away the impurities within him. He FELT more than saw the mild flame he seemed to generate. He took a deep breath, trying to come to terms with these strange changes to his body. As he exhaled he noticed his breath came out as a steam. A silvery eyebrow rose in confusion before he shook his mind of it. He needed to find a way to control this, or else he would be in a severe amount of trouble if they found out about this. Judging by the way his large captor had panicked when he saw he was gaining use of his chakra hen he probably didn’t have the ability to use or sense it. Merely being able to ‘feel’ the power of his fire circulating in the area and knowing he needed to snuff out the chakra that had been created.

Gin knelt down and focused heavily on the faint chakra he could still feel. ‘How am I able to feel chakra again?’ He thought as he tried to figure out what in the world was going on. Soon enough though his mastery of his own chakra shone through once more as he caused the steam, the fire, everything really, to die down gradually. Even the burning sensation faded away into the backdrop as he reigned in these drastic changes. His mind poured over the different ways his new changes could have given him some kind of strange resistance to their poison. Or was it the poison itself? Could he have gotten a tolerance? He mulled this possibility over in his mind over and over before deciding to shelve that though. The large man was confident in his poisoning, so he doubted he would have built up a resistance that his captor hadn’t planned for. No, it certainly had be something within him, something in the changes that had occurred. He mind ran a thousand miles a moment as he considered each possibility. His body was giving off light, he couldn’t imagine that having an impact. He felt a burning sensation in his body that wasn’t particularly bad. That could have been the poison being burned away and his body being rejuvenated due to that fact. His breathed out steam… Hang on a moment. ‘Steam?..In order to BREATH out steam my internal body temperature would have to be insane..’ He thought as he remembered something the large one said the first time they spoke during his captivity ‘You don’t have to worry about your food being poisoned. The process in which we do it can’t be done to the food for certain reasons.’

All at once the answer hit him like a truck ‘The poison doesn’t work in high heat. That’s why they used a cave, that’s why they can’t put it into the food safely because it’s COOKED. It would burn away the poison, and putting it in after the fact would prevent it from really becoming a ‘part’ of the food, I could avoid it, eat around it, etc. But the water! I can’t avoid drinking it then, it’s kept cool because of the cave, and so the poison can easily survive. They must have given my old man soon before poisoning me or it would’ve gotten warm in the desert, unless it doesn’t take temperatures too cold and they’re just being safe. My new elevated internal body temperature must have burned away the poison. Now I just need to wait until I regain all of it before I bust out of here.’ He finished thinking before taking a deep breath and shaking his head as it slowed down from rushing through thoughts so quickly. He proceeded to move to his spot against the wall and lay down, allowing himself to drift off to sleep. He desperately needed to give the illusion that nothing was different. If anything he could use this time to figure out how his connection with his fire chakra had reached this unparalleled level. He had never heard of anyone unlocking a fire chakra so potent, so absolutely dominating, and it was something he feared. Before long however he felt he would relish the extra power when it came to exterminating these.. Roaches that were keeping him captive. They could be a stepping stone to increasing his own power exponentially, if being in their ‘care’ caused his strength to increase by sheer happenstance what could happen if he spent more time in it? Eventually he would simply leave, after torching the entire camp of course.

For now though he would rest, obtaining more power could come later. He needed to fool the large one into thinking he wasn’t a threat. That his poison was doing its job handedly and that he was helpless. The longer he allowed that charade to go on, then the more chakra he could regenerate and the more he could let his mind work out what happened and if it was possible to replicate. For if he could cause such a leap in power to happen again he doubted anyone would be able to stand in the way of his fire. These thoughts and more spun around in his head as he drifted off into a dreamless sleep, his body clear of the poison for the first time in weeks.
