Backstory: the art of protection is vast. Yens experience through use of defensive techniques improved over time. But there was also a strong synergy between two concepts he practiced. Preservation, and duribility. For every yin had its yang. 

The development of new talents had yen ho back ad reflect on his drawbacks. Even with his best he could feel defeat was a nessary thing to face. Then again his opponents were much faster than him.  Yen needed a way to up the game and his defenses. So by looking into one of his greatest defenses body and soul, yen theorized that by tackling the aura he could make it better.

This lead to complete focus on developing a protective aura. Keeping the user despite costs safe from harm. This requires the full force of the  user. Costing more than a usual technique. The aura holds the key safety of keeping the user safe, or at least if repaired too much, or overpowered it can be used to punish thoes who attack the user carelessly.  By the aura being the users chakra  the aura is simply treated as a wall between the user and harmful things. Via jutsu, touch, or weapons.

For with the raw chakra comes the weakness of thoes who utilize raw chakra. Such as other yin/ yang techniques,and  offensive medical jutsu. Despite this all jutsu will still follow the rules of the aura. 

Hence if struck it is like hitting a wall. if not strong enough an attack is simply stopped and dispersed. If attacked from a fist or a weapon it would simply do a recoil like effect. Like hitting a wall.





Appearance: the user is surrounded by a  thick dark grey aura. This thick chakra goes from the users skin to the 1 meter range.  The aura is centered around the user. And seeps into the immediate  beneath the users feet. the aura lies inches from the users skin.  A grey wave  will be emmiting of thick chakra to knock away any  follow up attacks.

Duration: up to 6 posts
Cooldown: posts used +2
Range: 1 meter from body-  
Power: chakra stat
Speed: chakra stat
Health: chakra stat
Stat Boosts: none
What it does:

This technique is based off of the yang aura from yens Body and soul. The aura remains centered around the user despite movement, and due to the pesky nature. It keeps the user relatively safe from most jutsu. By the aura surrounding the user it also channels into the immediate ground below the user keeping the user safe from both damage, and additional adverse effects (including healing.) from above, below, and around them.  (adverse effects are: like being knocked back, or being pulled down by something. or movement restriction, but this also goes to healing as well.) 

The aura moves with the user at the center the entire time it is active. This Ensuring that the user is protected at all times.

yang aura

 This aura is treated as if it was armor keeping the user safe from all  jutsu and other attacks above, around and below the user. (including advanced elements containing 1 basic element.) As well as physical attacks like taijutsu and weaponry.

 Taijutsu, and weaponry attacks will require the wielders strength stat to be higher than the power of this jutsu to cut/push through the aura. Otherwise taijutsu/ weaponry attacks will merely bounce off the aura. If a taijutsu/weaponry technique comes into physical contact with the aura. The aura will redirect damage onto the weapon/ limb in physical blunt force equal to the power stat of this technique.

 If an attack or an effect is lower then the power of this technique.

If it is a jutsu it will go around the edge of the aura preventing any adverse effects (both helpful and unhelpful), and damage from occurring to the user. In which case an explosion will merely go around the user. While elemental jutsu, and effects (like burning) will go around the edge of the aura. Effectively keeping the user safe. This does also includes healing from an outside source like another individual, or creature. As the healing will be negated completely.
 

  If an attack or an effect is above the power of the aura.

  Then the attack continues through the aura, but damage/any adverse effects is reduced to the difference between the power/strength of the attack vs the power stat of the aura. (if aura is 100 and an attack is 110: the attack will instead have 10 power once it comes in contact with yen or any of his items/armor.) 

With weapons, or jutsu with sharpness, or an piercing effect. This changes their property if they hit the user from sharp to blunt.  this is due to the aura cushioning, and protecting the user. While piercing effects from jutsu, or a weapon are nullified.  Healing from external medical jutsu would instead heal at the reduced power rate if higher then the power of this jutsu. (note this does not affect the users own healing jutsu, but healing from another individual/creature)

yang wave

When an attack comes in contact with the aura. The aura will release a counter measure against any subquent attacks. A wave will be released spreading omidirectional at jutsu speed while it has a power equal to this jutsu. Jutsu/induviduals that come in contact with the grey wave's will take blunt force damage equal to the power of the wave, and will be pushed back to the 10 meter mark. 


decaying effect

When an attack that is higher then the health of the aura.  The aura will suffer a reduction in health equal to half of the power/strength/ sharpness of said attack. This is signified as small cracks appearing along the edge of the aura. At the start of each of the user's posts the aura is automatically repaired to full health. Due to the user maintaining the technique. (paying ap upkeep)

If destroyed the aura  will continue to reduce the damage of the attack that destroyed the aura. (note to outright destroy aura an attack must be  +20 above the health of the aura.)


Other damage reduction techniques the user uses will only work half as effectively while this is active. (if a person has A 100 DR  effect in addition with this shield. It will only reduce 50 Damage)

Alright so going through this, my initial instinct was to balance the debuff and remove the ability to extend the aura further. The repair effect needs more detail. Does it cost the same AP to rip small, medium and big tears in the Aura? How often can the Aura be repaired before giving way?

I'll be talking about the debuff at chakra stat effect with another mod as i'm not entirely sure what to do with it yet. <3

Yep so added a special gift to hyuuga (yall can thank me later...) since i enjoy making interesting and engaging weaknesses. 

Opting to keep extention.

1. Repairing costs flat 100 ap to repair.At tec speed. Might not seem like much, but with a nice +50 ap upkeep and to repair again... it gets up there. Also added -40 power if hit by a none elemental jutsu (yin yang), medical jutsu, none elemental gentle fist tecs. because these tecs are wierd like that. (Links to chakra stat power, but will adjust the numbers if changed to keep it well useful)

2. The ap cost quiet terrifying hight tbf (likes making tecs that makes a diffrence and is expensive)

3.  The disperse is now linked to three possible triggers. One that is remote, one that is automatic upon being overwealmed by a good stron non ele tec, one if repaired too much. (Aka -120 power aura) As it will be interesting to watch as ppl proceed to beat down on an aura  with none elementals or actually use chakra scalpel. 

4. Gentle fist as i considered it a bit can now be considered non elemental as long as they dont get giddy decide to mix some element in it. (This will be alot of fun to watch tune in)

Hm well lets not keep this in the wood work too long. Since im flexible i can go between a safe number.


How about 85-99 power. Ill keep the speed and health respectively chakra stat.

In exchange ill make the power reduction -30. And reduce disperse range to 35 meters.

Alright so i did some thinking and consulting and debuff at chakra stat really is too much.
Keeping in mind that this is a powerful S rank, I would be okay with debuff at half of chakra stat.

You can lift some of the extravagant AP costs in compensation too.

Also you'll need to specify that all these forms of the jutsu can only be used once a topic and maybe just one at a time.

Reduction



Ill put a solid cap for the reduction. As per required it'll reduce at half of chakra stat  capping at 150. (Unless we can finally go past 300 chakra... without hero water...)

Abilities mechanics


Normally i like utilizing certain abilities on  mi charecters. Hence the nature of the technique. So in response of the once a topic ill toss a cooldown on the abilities. How about this:

 2 posts on the sharpen/blunt swapping

3 Posts on the repair effect. (Dont want kids to try to metagame as much)

The damage reduction is the core aspect of the technique hence does not need a cooldown. 

Once a topic on the sentient effect. But if aura is repaired sentient goes on 1 post cd. 


Ap cost

i'm keeping repair the same ap cost. Because lets be frank...

Reduced ap cost initially, and the cost of both blunt/ sharp, and sentient aura effects, and upkeep cost.

Alrighty Yen. Let’s fix this up and get it reapproved.

 
So I’d like you to remove the whole DR part as this already acts as a shield.   
 
Second thing is please remove the whole sharpness aspect of this barrier, the power can stay though.
 
In exchange, you can say that his technique is treated as having elemental advantage against all elements, but non elemental techniques only get +20 instead of +60 against it.
