PostSubject: Shadowfax's Genin Exams   Tue Apr 18, 2017 3:21 am

It was finally the day that Shadowfax had always been waiting for. The day of her Genin Exam! Today was especially bright despite the massive storm raging outside. Aside from the horrible environmental conditions, the sunlight managed to break through the maddening cloud coverage thrown above which stretched across the sky like an exaggerated rainbow made of gray and black color variations. As she made her way to the Exam room, she took note of the lack of students present at the academy today. It was an eerie feeling.. Like something bad might happen. She tried to ignore all of these anxiety causing signs however, trying to instead focus more heavily on the task at hand. Completing her Genin Exam and becoming a Genin. Fighting off the shaking legs and sweating hands, she mustered her courage. She had to convince herself she could do this, and then she would be able to. Without the confidence to succeed, one would surely fail. This was a fact.

Unfortunately, she hadn't known who her proctor was, and she wouldn't find out who it was until she arrived at the room. Her appointment was 3:00, and it was 2:56. Four minutes left. She increased her pace a bit, trying to make good on the promise she made to her sensei, Ren Tsubasa, who had told her to never make being late a habit. She intended to make good on her word. Shadowfax wasn't the type to give her word and then fall back on it. After all, at the end of the day, all anyone ever has despite all other things are their words. She would stop walking, her footsteps no longer echoing as her light figure made its way throughout the hallways of the academy of Kirigakure. She would look up, a sign hanging above the door marked in Kanji would translate to 'Exam Room B2', she would look at the next door, marked 'Exam Room B3', which was her designated room. Walking another two or three feet, she would slide the door open, and step in, her fate forever being sealed as she took her place in the center of an almost arena-like circular platform.

As the girl entered the room she would see, sitting on a desk with his feet hanging just a foot above the ground, Ren awaiting the next student to undergo the exam for the day. "Shadow, good to see you made it on time for once" Ren would call out, a playful smile gracing his lips for a moment before he turned serious, "Well you know doubt know whats expected of you, shall we start with the Transformation technique? Lets see if you can impress me" Ren said, leaning back a little and placing his hands on the back of the desk for support as he watched the young girl intently.

PostSubject: Re: Shadowfax's Genin Exams   Tue Apr 18, 2017 3:40 am

Shadowfax would be surprised by finding that it was Ren, herself, giving Shadowfax the exam. Nervously she would nodded as Ren requested that she perform the Transformation Technique. And this is where Shadowfax excels. Being primarily intelligent, and more physically frail, she has excellent chakra control as well as a decent pool for her rank. Forming the dog handseal and closing her eyes, she would focus intently. Mentally gathering each piece of a figure, every limb of the person coming together in flawless execution. She would then switch her hands from the Dog handseal to the Boar handseal, and began focusing on the figures facial construction and features, every detail of their face from their nose to their lips and eye color and even any freckles or beauty marks they may have had. Hair color included. She would then switch her hands from the Boar handseal to the Ram handseal, completing the series of handseals and activating the technique.

With a small puff of smoke covering the body of Shadowfax, it would dissipate, revealing an exact one-hundred precent likeness of Ren Tsubasa, herself. Every detail of the transformation Shadowfax did her absolute best to complete. Continuing to focus mentally, she kept the transformation up until Ren would instruct Shadow to drop it. She would drop her hands to her side and stand tall, allowing her instructor to properly analyze her own likeness for any possible imperfections. Shadowfax's goal was to impress Ren after all. She did ask to be impressed. Holding a steady channelation of chakra, her nervousness and anxiety caused Shadow to break a bit of a sweat. What a maddening tick. It pissed her off, truly.

PostSubject: Re: Shadowfax's Genin Exams   Tue Apr 18, 2017 5:17 am

(sorry had a family thing come up that I had to deal with)

Ren smiled as the girl stood there, evidently a little surprised by Ren's presence as her examiner. That was good of course; Ren took the majority of the graduation exams personally, he felt that it was the best way to make sure that the graduates of the academy were ready for life as a kirigakure no sato shinobi, and it wouldn't do to have the aspiring graduates to expect him to be their examiner. Ren was glad to see that despite her shock of course that the girl had managed to collect herself and begin performing the transformation technique rather quickly. In a matter of moments the girl had calmly and collectedly performed the technique almost flawlessly, producing a copy of Ren that was almost identical to the original. "Very good shadow, very good indeed, Now then lets see you maintain that and perform the clone technique" Ren spoke out to the girl, watching intently as to how she reacted to this new request. Strictly speaking being able to perform both techniques at once was not a graduation requirement of course, or at least it wasn't listed as such in any of the accademy records, but Ren had taken to making it an addition to the latest exams he had proctored, after all seeing how the potential graduates reacted to the strain was another way to make sure they were ready for the outside world.

Once the girl had completed Ren's request, assuming of course that she passed that portion of the exam, Ren would nod and give the girl a smile, getting up from his seated position he would stride towards the girl, speaking as he did. "Good, a splendid job Shadow, you pass..." Ren paused as he reached the girl, and circling a round the podium she stood on moved to a small door at the opposite side of the room from where she entered, "You can now move on the the second stage of the exam." Ren would finish, opening the door and walking through before stepping to the side and leaning against the wall. When Shadowflax followed him into the room she would find a large hall with stone pedestals arranged in a three by three pattern sitting at the center, upon which each pedestal sat a wounded animal. Meanwhile the walls of the room were plastered with handwritten scrolls penned by Ren, each one detailing a specific aspect of basic medical ninjutsu and how to apply it to healing wounds of various animals and people. Once the girl had had time to take in the room Ren would speak up. "You now have five minutes to choose an animal and heal its wounds, begin." Ren would say before taking out a thin black book from his coat pocket and flipping it open to read a page on some advanced fuinjutsu techniques. Should the girl remain standing there or decide to question him at all Ren would simply pull out a simple silver pocket watch and pointedly check the time.

Shadowfax would take a deep breath after Ren had instructed her to then perform the clone technique while simultaneously channeling the Transformation technique. This was going to be be exceedingly difficult, but only briefly. Thinking for a moment, she would activate the handseal series required for Shadow Clone activation, and with another puff of smoke, another copy of Ren Tsubasa would appear standing next to Shadowfax. She did it! Great. Ren had approved of her melding of both techniques, and had her then follow Ren down a hall, leading to another room. Upon the door being opened, the room would be fairly large, much larger than the other room they had been in, Exam Room B3. This was a room of the Academy Shadowfax hadn't seen yet. Scanning the room, stone pedestals could be seen in the center of the room, the walls marked with an unimaginable amount of scrolls hanging. All of them seemed to be Medical or Medical Ninjutsu oriented techniques, based on what Shadowfax could read from this distance. Hmm.. She would overlook the mass of wounded animals, and would spot an amazingly beautiful white wolf.

A closer analytical overlooking would reveal that her neck seemed to have a series of mortal wounds, claw marks stretching from the back of her neck to the front of it. Poor creature, Shadowfax thought. She had to do something. The other animals in the room didn't really seem to appeal to Shadowfax as much as this wolf did though. And being as though the wolf was almost triple her own physical size, it was surprising that Shadowfax wasn't scared absolutely shit-less while approaching it. Either way, she would quickly pull out a small med-kit, given to her by the Academy upon her admission into it a year earlier. Opening it, there was a series of tools at her disposal, including a scalpel, gauze pads, 75ml of Savlon, gauze swabs, sterile gauze, forceps, bandage scissors, safety pins, triangular non-woven bandages, 75mm and 100mm conforming bandages, a plaster roll, paper tape, first aid dressing, straight splints, interlocking splints, latex gloves, a CPR mouthpiece and cotton wool. Although the standard kit didn't have all of these items, Shadowfax had added to the kit in order to benefit herself according to her situation. Combat medics were the most useful application and example of Medical professionals, thereas, she needed a kit which mirrored their professional capability.

She would quickly get to work fixing up the wolf's wounds, performing a small surgery on the neck wounds to seal them up, stitching them together and applying the savlon to disinfect and speed up the recovery process. Wrapping the interlocking splints around the neck of the wolf would prevent the creature from moving its head too much and knocking the stitches loose. She would then dab the wound with sterile gauze pads, cleaning whatever blood was on the coat of the wolf as well as cleaning the area around the wound itself. The wolf had seemed immovable this entire time.. It seemed to have actually taken a liking to Shadowfax's medical application, and hadn't even let a growl escape its razor-sharp mouth. She would smile and pet the wolf every now and again, running her hand across its head and rubbing its paws as she made her way around and around the wolf, fixing what issues she came across as she worked. Wrapping the final bandage around the wound, the surgery was complete. And the wolf sat up, stiff, but she did sit up. Leaning down, she nudged Shadowfax's head, causing Shadow to let a giggle escape, before hearing the wolf let out a bellowing howl. It was the most beautiful song she had ever heard.

Leaning against the wall Ren continued his reading on the art of disrupting muscle responses with chakra seals, of course he was keeping an eye on the girl and her chakra levels, but it wouldnt do to look like he cared at this point. Of course Ren would be pleasantly surprised when the girl aced this portion of the exam.

Letting a smile grace his lips at the girl's giggle Ren strode over to her, unfazed by the howl of the wolf. "Good job shadow, I'm glad to say that you passed, and so..." Ren paused Reaching behind him and pulling out a headband from the pouch in his back pocket, I'm proud to declare you a Genin of Kirigakure no Sato, may you cary the title honorably and protect this village until the end of days." Ren would say, passing the headband to the girl, a proud smile on his face. "And never forget, no matter how far you go, this accademy will always be open to you." Ren finished, before turning and heading back into the main room, prepared for the next student to take the exams.

Shadowfax was pleased with the results of her exam, and Ren had applauded and promoted her all at the same time. He would have handed her a headband representing Kirigakure, a metal plate marked with the squiggly engravings which signified the Mist village. She looked over the basic item in awe, staring in a manner similar to absolute adoration. She had spent the majority of her young life dreaming of this very moment. And it was at this time she would finally gain her status as a Genin. Proud, she accepted the gift, tying it around her waist and displaying it on her hip. She could hardly contain her excitement as she began cheering, nothing but happy thoughts flowing through her mind. Then she remembered she was in a room full of wild animals. Probably not the best idea. She would thank Ren, bow respectfully, and exit the Academy. But not before snatching herself some scrolls off of Ren's wall. She didn't know which ones she took, but she figured they were medical-oriented and she could put them to some use.

She would make her way out of the doors, throughout the hallways and out the main entrance. The storm seemingly hadn't let up, at all. Which was kind of expected in a sense because that was what Kirigakure was most famed for outside of being ruled by an idealistic 'tyrant', as most may say, and having been known to harbor multitudes of very powerful ninja; even from before Shadowfax's time. Shinobi such as Sameonna Hoshigaki, whose statue stood in the central courtyard of Kirigakure, who were famed for doing things like raiding Konohagakure at the rank of Academy Student. Shadowfax hoped to embrace this level of prowess some day. She would look back down at her headband.. Was this all a dream? She would be wandering along, only to find an almost dead animal. She would crouch down, studying it closely. She would then discover that the animal seemingly had a heart attack, and needed immediate medical attention if it were to ever survive.

It was a small rabbit, very small, actually. About the size of Shadowfax's forearm, which was only about 6-7" long. Its ears were about the same length of its body, making it an exceedingly adorable creature. All the more reason to save its life in Shadow's opinion. She would reach into the knapsack she had packed the scrolls into, sorting through them until she found one she believed she could perform at this level. "Hm.. Shock Paddles.." She would think to herself, pulling the scroll from the knapsack and laying the backpack down next to the animal, propping its head onto one of the straps and allowing it to rest comfortably against as cotton-stuffed goodness. She would give the scroll a quick, but intensive read, and nod her head slowly. Okay.

Shadowfax would assume that to achieve the best continuity and establish an equal flow of electricity throughout the body, she would place her left hand on the center of the rabbits chest, and her right hand on the center of the rabbits back. She began to channel chakra to her palms, and clap them together, churning forth a spiraling essence of yellow auras, seeming to emanate from both the palms and fingertips of the young girl. She would thrust her hands forward, placing her hands in the aforementioned locations on the rabbit. Emitting a pulse of electricity through her hands, the signal would travel throughout the body of the rabbit in an attempt to establish a normal heart rhythm. The first attempt seemed to almost work, and the rabbit began showing signs of mobility, though it was still out of it. She would charge another pulse, her hands glowing yellow yet again, emitting yet another pulse into the rabbit.

But this time, it worked. The rabbit eyes fired open, and its legs caused it to spring from an immobile position to a mobile flurry almost instantly. It hopped away from Shadowfax, only to stop, study her, and seemingly realize that it was her who saved its life. It would hop back to her, causing her to lean over on her elbows, grinding them into the dirt as she made contact with the ground beneath, looking at the rabbit. Studying its fascinating antics. It would nudge against her face, much like the wolf did in the Genin Exam earlier that day. She would smile, nodding at the rabbit, giving it a sign of a clean bill of health. It would scurry away, hopping along happily down the hapless road of happiness. Either way, Shadowfax had more important duties to attend to. Now that she was a Genin!

Ren: You and your books. Approved.

Sam: 800 words should have been going towards Genin exam, no? So that's 800 that can't be used for trainings, reducing usable word count to 732, so you'd only be able to train an E rank. Furthermore, I didn't see where you actually practiced either Jutsu. mind clarifying that part?
