A Burning Building (P, Shiro) Empty A Burning Building (P, Shiro)

Wed May 25, 2016 10:04 pm
The silver haired teen known as Kenshin sped down the streets of Hoshigakure with a serious look on his face, he was clad in a pair of grey sandals, a pair of pitch black pants and his black sleeveless vest, his top hat and robes lying forgotten back in the room he was renting in one of the various inns of Hoshi. He hadn’t had any time to spare so he had simply decided to head towards his destination clad in his shinobi gear, said destination being the large plume of smoke that he could see rising from one of the more densely populated parts of Hoshi, and combined with the fact that he was able to see the tell tale orange glow of a fire in the night sky even from this distance he was able to tell that the fire was quite large. He had sprung right into action the second he saw the smoke, the first question he asked himself as he saw the smoke being was it the result of an accidental fire breaking out or was Hoshi under some form of attack, as far as he knew Hoshi didn’t have any true enemies so he was more leaning towards it just being a freak fire that broke out in someone's house or business, but whether it was just some freak fire or an attack on the village he would be ready to help in whatever way he could.

As he arrived in the area that the plume of smoke was originating from the first thing he noticed was a large crowd of people surrounding the burning building, something that got an irritated sigh from him, of course there was going to be a crowd of people just watching the building burn down, not lifting a single finger in effort to help anybody that may still be trapped inside or to prevent the fire from travelling to any of the other buildings in the area. After making his way through the crowd he began to make his way towards the building that was engulfed in flames, and much to his shock he actually remembered this building, it was actually one of the few stores that was happy to have shinobi as customers and it was actually the place that he went whenever he needed groceries. To make matters worse he actually knew and got along well with the owner of the store, said owner being a very sweet and kind old woman by the name of Rika, with slight worry for the old woman the silver haired teen began to look for her in the crowd, but unfortunately he was unable to spot her anywhere in the large crowd of people, most of whom had their anxious eyes on him and the Hoshigakure headband he was wearing proudly on his head.

It was only at this moment that the albino realised he was the only shinobi on the scene at the moment, and all of the people in the crowd were looking to him for guidance and the expectation that he was going to save them, and at that moment he truly realised the weight that was on his shoulders, he had no idea when other shinobi were going to arrive, or even if they were going to arrive. With the true realisation of the situation he snapped into action “Okay, those of you who want to help get some buckets and start gathering as much water as you can, we’re gonna need a lot of it, those of you who aren’t going to help, go home” he would order the people of the crowd with a serious look on his face, something that told everyone that he was not joking around right now, he wanted to know who was going to be helping and those who were gonna be hindrances to go home. Before long most of the crowd had been dispersed, and while he knew that some of them had gone to gather buckets and water he also knew that a great deal of them would not be returning. With one problem taken care of the silver haired teen turned towards the blazing building, this was a really bad situation, especially in a desert like Hoshi, although he was very glad that there seemed to be no wind tonight, because all a wind would do in an environment this dry was spread the fire to the surrounding buildings, and that was something that he truly didn’t want, as it could turn very easily from one building burning into a great portions of the buildings of Hoshi being consumed in a massive blaze

But first things first, he had to ensure that nobody was still trapped inside the burning building, and as much as he hoped he was wrong he was almost certain that he would find Rika somewhere in the burning building, he wasn’t sure if she would be dead or alive when he found her but he knew that he was going to find her in the flaming building.

A Burning Building (P, Shiro) Empty Re: A Burning Building (P, Shiro)

Wed May 25, 2016 10:27 pm
The air is crisp and the sky is a clear blue color. Like any other average day, Shiro is strolling down the road having come from his go-to restaurant and now making his way to the village library. The stores he passes are familiar to him because he has been walking by them every other day. Between these schedule days, Shiro does much more relaxing.

On days like these, though, the ones without as much relaxation, he repeats his schedule of every other day. First, Shiro wakes up and performs his exercises. These activities include jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups, and jogging. That lasts about forty-five minutes and warms his body up for more rigorous training. This practice is jutsu training as well as certain skills training. After these things have been concluded, Shiro treats himself to a meal at the restaurant which he is now leaving from. As explained prior, that location is followed by a trip to the library so that Shiro can do research and study up on subjects such as space-time and how chakra has an effect on it. These disciplines are the space-time arts, a field which Shiro plans to excel in.

Making his way through the street, his arms are barely weighed down by his seventy pound wrist weights. The accessories have been on Shiro's body for the past week or so and through the constant exorcise, his muscles have adapted to the burden. Now, the weight is not as much work.

"Today has been particularly productive." Shiro thinks, looking up into the almost cloudless sky. His hands are in his pockets as he walks with a calm demeanor about him. "I have made progress in the Daytime Tiger technique and increased the amount of exorcise I can do in one session, showing that I've grown in muscular endurance. Now, if only my respiratory endurance could improve as well. Then, I would be an ideal ninja."

Obscuring his view of the calming sky, Shiro sees a rising black cloud streaking to the ground, to its source. Within it, a yellow-orange light can be seen near the base. Tracing the trail of the smoke downward, Shiro finds the origin of the pollution.

"It doesn't look like I will be able to keep my schedule today." He sighs as his pace quickens and his hands leave his pockets. Already at the scene is a ninja whom Shiro has yet to meet. By looking at his face, though, he can tell that the ninja's focus is the same as his: to put out the flames.

"Do you need any help with this here? Because this doesn't look like a friendly task." Shiro offers his help, not looking at the shinobi. His eyes, as well as his partner's, stay fixed on the burning two-story building.

A Burning Building (P, Shiro) Empty Re: A Burning Building (P, Shiro)

Sun May 29, 2016 2:46 am
Despite the fact that the silver haired teen had been completely focussed on the building that was burning in front of him Kenshin was still able to sense the approach of a shinobi with rather large chakra reserves, something that got a small sigh of relief from him, he had been hoping that somebody else would show up to give him a hand in dealing with this rather unfortunate situation, and lo and behold here someone was. With the presence of another shinobi in the area Kenshin would delay his entrance into the blazing building, because as much as he wanted to get in the building as soon as possible in order to save Rika he understood just how dangerous this situation would be to him, the first story of the building was Rika’s shop while the second story was where Rika lived, adding even more danger to the situation as it meant that the floor or even the roof could collapse at any time due to the fire eating away at the building. Before long Kenshin would feel the chakra signature of the unknown shinobi come to a stop beside him, he was unable to catch a glimpse of the shinobi out of his peripheral vision but he didn’t really care, his attention being almost completely focussed on the flaming building in front of the two Hoshi shinobi “Do you need any help with this here? Because this doesn’t look like a friendly task.” the silver haired teen would hear his fellow shinobi of Hoshi remark, something that would get a small sigh of relief from Kenshin

“Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated” the albino teen would say in a grateful tone of voice, honestly while he was almost certain he could do this on his own he was still glad to have someone lending him a helping hand, fire was an extremely dangerous and unpredictable foe and in a desert like Haven Country it was even more dangerous than normal. “I’m going to be entering the building to evacuate anybody who is still trapped inside, if you could help me with that I would be grateful, as I’m not sure just how many people are still trapped within” Kenshin would say in a rather calm and composed tone of voice. With his plan told to the other shinobi the silver haired teen would cautiously enter the burning building and begin to look around for people trapped within the first floor, something that was easier said than done in the smoke filled building, he would assume that the other shinobi had followed him into the building and was helping him look around the first floor for any trapped shoppers, but before long he heard a familiar sounding voice calling out for help from the second floor of the building. “You try to find anyone trapped down here, I’ll go check the second floor!” Kenshin would call out to the other shinobi, he had called out loud enough that the other shinobi should have been able to hear him over the loud roar and crackles of the fire as it continued to devour the building

Kenshin would carefully make his way to the back of the store where he knew he would find the stairwell that led to the second floor, but once he reached the area he could only give a curse when he saw that the stairwell was blocked off by a large pile of flaming debris, and upon closer inspection he was able to see the portion of the ceiling that had caved in to cause the blockage. He could see that the hole left there was large enough for him to fit through in order to get to the second floor, and despite not wanting to make a blind leap up there in a flaming building he knew that not doing so would be the same as simply allowing Rika to burn to death, and that was a fate that Kenshin simply could not allow to befall the nice old lady. The silver haired teen would give a loud exhale before leaping up through the hole in the ceiling of the floor of the building's second story, and as soon as he passed through the hole he saw that the state of the room was exactly what he feared it to be, the heat of the flames was a lot more intense in the room as he could see multiple places where the ceiling of the building had caved in and piled up much like a bonfire, something that had caused the room he was in to be almost completely filled with flames. He could feel the crackling orange flames licking and burning the skin of his arms as the flames got closer and closer to him, obviously the hole he had jumped through had only been formed very recently and thus the fire had not yet managed to completely take back the places that it had lost when it collapsed, but it was regaining ground and fast. Kenshin would then begin to formulate a plan of escape from this deathtrap of a room, all the while wondering if the other shinobi was having better luck than him

A Burning Building (P, Shiro) Empty Re: A Burning Building (P, Shiro)

Sun May 29, 2016 2:25 pm
Into the inferno of falling wooden planks, Shiro enters behind the fellow ninja. Both seek left and right for anyone trapped under debris or cowering in despair because of the bleak circumstances.

As his partner makes his way to the second floor, Shiro is left on the first floor to do more searching. The flames crackle and spark with intensity around him while he moves about the shop area. There are glass tea cups and elegant ceramic pots on multiple shelves for display. One cracks and shatters under the immense heat of the room, glass flying in multiple directions. Being a shinobi, Shiro expertly dodges each of the shards and, through the smoke, spots a man cowering in fear.

"I've got you, let's get up." Shiro instructs the man, getting under one of his arms and helping him up from the floor. Both stay low and keep their heads down under the rising smoke. Above them, the clouds are the thickest and most toxic. Once at the door, Shiro leaves the man and runs back into the shop to search for another civilian to help out of this disaster.

Behind the purchasing counter, Shiro hears quiet whimpers emanating. The desk, being constructed of wood, is engulfed in flames. Its sides, however, are stone and resistant to being burned.

"I can use that." Shiro thinks running over and using the side of the purchasing desk as a source for the Fist Rock Technique. His right hand and forearm become shelled in the gray stone, taking the entire side of the desk. He proceeds to swoop down and reach over to the other side of the desk, also composed of stone, and cover his left hand in the rock. With both of his hands and forearms gloved in rock, Shiro turns hi attention to the little girl who cries against the wall behind the desk. Her knees are tucked into her chest and he arms are wrapped around her ankles.

Above, from the ceiling, Shiro hears the subtle cracking of wood. The flames above are eating away at and breaking the planks above the girl. As two unstable planks fall, Shiro lunges forward and kneels down. With his right hand, he shields the civilian below him. The rock, resistant to burning up, protects the two of them from harm. Fire from the wood sparks as they bounds off of Shiro's forearm and p=land on the ground around them.

"You'll be alright, I'm getting you out of here." He assures her, scooping her up with both hands and stepping over the crackling flames of the fallen wood. Shiro continues to run towards the shop door getting ever closer to the light through the smoke. He keeps the little girl tucked into his arms and protected from the thick black clouds.

More flames catch onto the wood above the door, the frame ignites and the area above it also brightens with fire. The sudden increase of temperature in the building does not phase Shiro, though, as he continues towards the freedom that this distressed girl needs. But, as the new fire eats away at that section of the ceiling, it crumbles and begins to fall to the ground. Chips are the first sign to Shiro that something above him is going to fall to the ground again, bringing fire with it.

Noticing the falling sparks of fire, Shiro looks up through the smoke at the ceiling. Sure enough, above the door, planks are loosening and shaking under their reduced strength. With his eyes narrowing, Shiro goes low, taking the time to anticipate the time he will need to get through the door as the planks are falling.

"Even if I body flicker, that flaming wood is going to keep falling and cover the upper half of the door. If I can get low enough, I can dodge them without getting caught." He thinks, preparing to dash through the door.

Shiro, lunging forward and body flickering, stops outside of the building, the air around him now clear of smoke and fumes. He lets the girl down onto ground standing in front of him. With the danger averted, he kneels down.

"Are you hurt at all?" He asks, releasing the Fist Rock Technique, letting the rocks fall to the ground. before he can stand up as she responds, the girl stops him with an embracing hug of thanks. "Thank you. But my job is not done yet."

Standing, Shiro turns and backs himself up to get a full view of the burning building. He waits for his partner to return so that the two of them can regroup and think of a way to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings.

A Burning Building (P, Shiro) Empty Re: A Burning Building (P, Shiro)

Mon May 30, 2016 3:40 am
For once in his life the silver haired teen was actually grateful for the hell that he went through at the hands of Mayuri and Szayel, as it was thanks to everything that he had been through in the past that he possessed a ridiculously high tolerance to pain, and it was only due to that ridiculously high tolerance to pain that he wasn’t truly bothered by the heat of the flames in the room even as they began to lick at the exposed skin on his arms. Despite being burned by the flames the silver haired teen was only feeling something akin to discomfort rather than pain, and as such he began trying to put together a plan to escape this death trap without getting himself severely burned in the process, because even though he wouldn’t feel too much pain from the flames they would still have an adverse effect upon his body. Before long he managed to come up with a plan, but it was quite the risky plan as it involved using a jutsu that he had never once attempted to perform before, in fact the only reason he remembered the hand seals for it was because he had looked over the scroll for it after mistaking it for a different jutsu.

Despite being unsure as to whether or not this plan would work the silver haired teen began to go through the three hand seals required to perform the jutsu, he had learned many jutsu on the fly in the past but never in circumstances like this, where the life of himself and others would be on the line if he failed to learn the technique fast enough, so that was a bit of extra weight on his shoulders. With the hand seals done the albino teen would take a deep breath before blowing outwards, but rather than air blowing out of his mouth a large amount of water began to gush out of his mouth and onto a portion of the burning room, an action that almost instantly began to douse the flames in the room. It didn’t take long for Kenshin to completely douse all of the flames in the room, an action that made the entire room visible to him, from what he could see this was Rika’s bedroom and thus it would most likely be room that she got trapped in when the fire broke out.

Kenshin would look around the room in the hopes of finding Rika in here, but despite him believing that she was in the bedroom he found himself unable to find her, but he wasn’t about to simply leave like that, he would close his eyes and focus on opening his mind's eye, quickly managing to activate the ability in the hopes of finding Rika’s location. Almost immediately Kenshin felt an extremely small chakra signature in the room, a small chakra signature that he was almost certain belonged to Rika, but when Kenshin looked over to the location where he had felt Rika’s chakra signature he found nothing but a pile of debris, something that more than likely had fallen right on top of the old woman. Kenshin would quickly dash over to the pile of debris and begin carefully removing the larger pieces of debris, eventually removing enough of the debris to find the unconscious and slightly burned form of Rika, but thankfully she was still breathing lightly. Kenshin would form the hand seals required for the Mystical Palm before channeling medical chakra to his hands and allowing them to be enveloped by a green glow

Kenshin would allow the medical jutsu to heal the burns that were visible on the old woman's skin, before continuing on in the hopes of finding any other injuries that she may have sustained from the debris falling on her so that he could heal them, and eventually he managed to find exactly what he had been scanning her body for, looks like the debris falling down on her fragile body had broken a couple of ribs, thankfully none of them had managed to puncture the lung though. Kenshin would quickly heal the broken bones before carefully picking up the unconscious form of Rika, before quickly jumping back down through the hole in the floor and out of the open door of the burning building, where he would find his new partner waiting.

A Burning Building (P, Shiro) Empty Re: A Burning Building (P, Shiro)

Tue May 31, 2016 4:28 pm
With the fellow shinobi out of the building carrying a woman in his arms, Shiro begins to perform the hand seals necessary for the earth style jutsu which he plans on utilizing to finish this predicament. His feet are planted firmly onto the ground and his eyes are fixed on the base of the building. Channeling his chakra using the boar seal as a base, he continues onto the ox seal to finalize his preparations.

"I'll collapse what's left of the building with the Tearing Earth Turning Palm technique. It's going to fall inward and be lowered by a meter or so. That way, it will be more like a pit of fire than a tall flame. I can take care of keeping the fire from spreading but I don't know any water style jutsu, so I can't put it out." Shiro begins to walk forward and stops three meters in front of the entrance to the building. Keeping the ox seal, he kneels onto his right knee and eyes the structure, looking up at the crackling tongues of fire rising from every side of the wooden rectangle-like shop and abode. "I can try to think of something but I don't have the jutsu in my arsenal to make putting the fire out an easy job."

Both of his hands separate and, concentrating his chakra, Shiro slams both hands onto the ground. The energy gathered and prepared into earth style chakra is released for the most part into the dirt with some of it still attached to his palms and up his arms to allow him to manipulate the chakra. Under the house, the energy makes its way through the rock and spreads out with a diameter of twenty meters.

"I'm not too sure what you have up your sleeve in terms of jutsu." He comments, gripping the dirt and turning his palms in opposite directions from each other. His left hand turns counter-clockwise while his right turns clock-wise at the same rate. The speed at which they turn is slow and steady. Shiro makes sure that his chakra turns at a speed that will most effectively manipulate the earth and cause the building to sink into the spiral. "But some water style would definitely be useful."

The ground beneath the building begins to spiral inward and the foundation reflects this. From one corner to another, the entire lower half of the structure begins to turn and pull at the wood of the upper section. This breaks some of the already chipping planks and causes the entire wooden building to collapse under its weight with the weakened support. As the top level falls, it crushes the lower level, leaving only a pile of broken wood and ceramic from the shop. This pit of smoldering materials feeds the fire much more effectively so that the heat grows stronger and the flickering becomes more frequent.

Standing, Shiro begins to walk backward, and rejoins with his partner.

A Burning Building (P, Shiro) Empty Re: A Burning Building (P, Shiro)

Sun Jun 05, 2016 10:53 am
As Kenshin left the flaming building he noticed his partner walking towards it while performing hand seals, “I’ll collapse what’s left of the building with the Tearing Earth Turning Palm technique. It’s going to fall inward and be lowered by a meter or so. That way, it will be more like a pit of fire than a tall flame. I can take care of keeping the fire from spreading but I don’t know any water style jutsu, so I can’t put it out” he would hear his partner say, something that got a rather sombre nod from the silver haired teen, as much as he wanted to stop his partner from collapsing the building due to it being Rika’s home and livelihood he knew that the structure of the building had been all but eaten by the flames, and that even if they managed to put out the fire the building would eventually be torn down anyway, besides, this way the fire wouldn’t spread to the nearby buildings. “I can try to think of something but I don’t have the right jutsu in my arsenal to make putting out the fire an easy job” he would hear his partner say as he carefully placed Rika down on the ground, before once more going to stand by Shiro, although this time he stood a few steps behind him so as not to interrupt his concentration with the jutsu.

Kenshin would watch as Shiro slammed his hands to the ground in a manner similar to his Moving Earth Core, but obviously this move held a lot more power behind it than his did “I’m not sure what you have up your sleeve in terms of jutsu” he would hear his partner say as he concentrated on manipulating the earth beneath the building with his jutsu “But some water style would definitely be useful” he would then say, something that got a small smirk from Kenshin. “Well thankfully I do possess a Water Release technique that will be able to put out this damned fire” Kenshin would say in an annoyed tone, the skin on his arms was a dark red from the burns he had received in the building due to his insane level of pain tolerance, and while he was not truly bothered by the pain from them it still irritated the hell out of him. Kenshin wouldn’t be able to see the earth beneath the building spiral inwards but he did see the buildings foundations twist and snap due to it, and before long he bared witness to the building collapsing in on itself and turning into a large pile of burning wood. With that his partner stepped back and Kenshin stepped forward, forming three hand seals as he did so, and much like earlier he began to spew a great deal of water out of his mouth and directly onto the fire, which grew smaller and smaller by the minute, until the only thing left was a soaking wet pile of burned wood.

With that done Kenshin would stop the flow of water from his mouth and release a sigh, he wished there had been some way to save the building but in the end the foundations had been far too damaged by the fire. Kenshin would turn to the shinobi who helped him and give a small smile “Thanks for the help, it would’ve been a helluva lot harder without you here” Kenshin would say in a grateful tone “I’m Kenshin, pleasure to meet you” Kenshin would say with an extended hand, all the while awaiting a similar greeting from the other shinobi

"Kenshin." Shiro repeats in his head, matching the face to the name so as to memorize the shinobi's appearance. Finalizing the information, he continues out loud. "Sure, a pleasure to meet you as well. Not too shabby there with that fire. We really saved a good portion of the village together. Maybe we can work together on another mission some time. The two of us made quick work of this situation."

With that, Shiro stands and takes Kenshin's hand in his own, shaking it and nodding his head once forward. Around him, the citizens give off sighs of relief with the disaster now averted, the danger passed.

After making sure that no flames had been left flickering and that the building had not spread the fire to any other establishments, he turns bids goodbye to the fellow ninja, Kenshin.

"I'll be seeing you then." Shiro says, walking towards the village library. The two go their separate ways, Kenshin also turning on his heel and leaving the scene. In his head, he plans the rest of his day out before him.

"This little incident has taken time out of my afternoon but it was time well spent. I helped two people out of that burning building and stopped the destruction from reaching any farther out. In my opinion, I did a fine job. And I still have a few hours free. Maybe that new book on space-time jutsu is here. I can go ahead and check that out for myself. Or maybe a medical ninjutsu handbook. Such a tool would also be helpful. Of course, I could just get both."

Shiro continues on to his destination. The village library is not too far from the scene.
