Name: Taijutsu Style: Block
Spec Type: Taijutsu
Backstory: To think that taijutsu is only based on punching and kicking would be a foolish notion. In a fight one must be ready to go on the defensive as well as the offensive. With defense in mind the very simple technique of blocking an attack has come into being. Sure, it is a simple, almost intuitive, technique but it takes a true master to effectively block an attack without taking too much damage and putting themselves in a compromising position.
Appearance: Varies based on the situation, but, in general, the user will intercept an attack by placing one of their limbs in the way of an attack rendering it less effective than it would be if the user simply took the attack head on.
Duration: One post.
Cooldown: Two posts
Stat Boosts: n/a
What it does: Blocking is a simple enough concept to understand: you protect your more vulnerable parts with a more durable part of your body. To use this technique a person may make use of either leg from the upper thigh down or either arm from the shoulder down; no blocking with your head or chest-that would be counter productive. The net effect of blocking an attack with this technique is that the power of said attack is reduced by the power of the block itself. In blocking please use your common sense. Genjutsu and fuinjutsu seals placed on the user of this technique are not effected by this damage reduction. When used against weaponry the sharpness of a weapon is reduced for the initial damage calculation ie Kunai with 100 sharpness is thrown and blocked with a forearm then damage is considered as if the kunai had 100-the power of the block.
Note: Jutsu power does not scale with stats like a normal taijutsu would nor can the base power be increased in any way shape or form.
