Salzem's body had finally given out. Not long after he completed that technique, he collapsed on the ground, bloodied back meeting the forest floor. He didn't even have the strength to gasp. All he could do is wince as small sticks and dirt dug into his back. He looked up at the sky, breathing heavily. Salzem was about this close to passing out right there between the bloodloss, the pain, and the over-all physical exhaustion. Not to long later, Fenn made his way over to Salzem and went about healing his wounds. As he did this, Salzem wondered if he had finally met Fenn's expectations. Had he...? If he had, he probably wouldn't have as many lashes across his body. Each one was like a reminder: "Go faster!" or "Jump higher!" Not even needing to look to know where he was struck, he knew he didn't exactly do as well as Fenn had wanted. However, when Fenn had completed healing him and helped him back to his feet, Salzem was surprised to hear that he had done a great job and that he enjoyed training him. Salzem couldn't help but smile proudly a little bit. Despite the seemingly endless hell, he had done what he had hoped to do: Impress Fenn. He was surprised, however, that Fenn had plans to become a citizen of the leaf. He didn't know why, but he would certainly help with that. Perhaps he could set up an appointment of his own with the hokage... Fenn began to walk off and Salzem watched him go until he was no longer visible amongst the trees. He would smile, then wake up to the stress the training had inflicted upon him. He winced, then began to limp his way back to Konoha. After a good rest, he would see what he could do about meeting the Hokage.
