Turning when the tone of Den's voice became a tad more serious he would watch.  The invitation, or rather instruction was fairly clear.  As for her response....well it was exactly what he had expected her to say.  Something similiar to what she had said at their first meeting.  "Please no need for the dramatics."  His eyes meeting hers as it was clear she meant him with several of her statements.

"I don't know how many times k have to say your village is boring.  It's safe as peaches from sea lions.  At least I think that's pretty safe, now that j think about it I've never asked a sea lion if they like peaches.......mmmm..............ummmm I guess the safety is currently up in the air.  At least until we can find a sea lion...." His eyes would become unfocused.  If no one did anything or interrupted he would stare off into space for a solid minute as if seriously considering the metaphor he had just used.

After that minute if no one said anything he would finish with "Well that's why you don't take pineapples to church I guess... Anyway, blah blah village is safe we aren't killing people.  Let's keep the show moving then."  His tone had more or less returned to what it normally was.  Where he had fallen into self doubt and reflection, his mind at least permitted him to shift through topic to topic with relative ease, meaning any depression he might have would pass even if it would return later.

Walking to stand next to Den he held out a hand.  As he knew at least that contact would have to be made for the teleportation to occur.  Holding out his other hand to Akihana he would simply add "Ny lady, would you like to be apart of the circle?"

The woman didn’t comply at first, instead replying to his remarks about Kumo being accused of murder. She seemed to be directing her comments at Maku, but her second sentence was one Den found amusing. He had been a shinobi of Kirigakure, he had experienced firsthand that being the member of a village made you guilty of being associated with all of its members. Den, a jounin of the village, had not a clue what the village had done to invoked the wrath of those who destroyed it, only that few managed to have escaped it. Who knew how many people died, not only the village had sunk but the entire land mass, farmers and other towns were wiped out by this attack that only a few Kiri ninja had ever been responsible for, if any at all. Even within the village he had seen shinobi kills dozens of others, members of their own village, and yet they were hardly punished, in fact set free days after the crime.

Den had learned at a young age that in this world killing, even en masse, was not an action that needed much justification.

He didn’t vocalize his opinion however, it seemed that Maku’s interest in the conversation had been reinvigorated. As the woman mentioned ‘with this sole exception’ Maku turned to meet her gaze, and asked that she stopped with the dramatics. His brother made some sort of comparison that was supposed to mean that the woman’s village was save, but then he got side tracked. As his mind seemed to drift off and h fell silent however, Den decided to take over the conversation once more.

“I only plan to harm those responsible. Everyone else in your village is safe from me.” Hoping that his statement and Maku’s would be sufficient, he would outstretch his hand, this occurring before Maku doing so as this is during the minute of silence. If the woman joined him, and then shortly after his brother as well, Den would activate his teleportation ability and after a few moments the 3 would be teleported to Sanctuary.

If the two had complied, they would reappear inside what would seem to be an underground facility, in a small room with a table and 3 chairs. One would be on one side of the table, and the other two would sit opposite it. Den would pull the lone chair out and indicate for Akihana to sit in it, before going to one of the other chairs and sitting down. There would be a single door leading out of the room, Den unsure if Maku wanted to be involved with this or not.

Even as the blonde male extended an invitation to join the circle, Akihana held out her own slender arm towards him, the only thought on her mind that Denkiteki had at least promised to not harm people not directly involved with the murder he was accusing her village of. The kunoichi would perhaps never understand how these men could take things like extinguishing a life so casually, but then again, she couldn't understand it regardless of who did it. Even as betrayed and helpless as she felt in that moment, she knew deep down that if she was ever given the chance to hurt the two responsible for making her feel that way, she wouldn't take it. Overcoming pain was not accomplished by causing it to someone else. Akihana knew very little about life by her own measure but she knew that much, and she had to believe that when it mattered most, that little bit of knowledge was sufficient.

The blonde closed her eyes momentarily as she felt the surge of chakra enveloping the trio, no doubt they would be far away when her golden irises opened to the world once more, but for now, she could pretend like they were, that this was just a casual meeting and a friendly discussion. Telepathically activating her Norito crest, the young woman sent out a single message to rest of the members of the Squad.

Captured, please keep Arata safe...

When she opened her eyes, she and the two young men appeared to be standing in a room, a basic interrogation room if she ever saw one and Akihana knew which chair was for her even before Denkiteki had pulled it out for her politely. How many times had the ANBU Operative herself conducted such sessions, her weapon of choice being a kind word rather than showing off the multiple ways in which she could break and mend bones over and over again. Setting her picnic basket and banket down beside the single chair, Akihana took her seat, reflexively crossing her legs in front of her to make her slender frame even smaller, as if occupying less space would make this situation any less real.

And despite the company of the two brothers, for the first time since she had started towards the mountain path to keep her end of the bargain, Akihana Akari felt truly alone.

Once they had arrived Maku would look around and then place his hands behind his head. This world had a variety of looks, places, rooms, and all other kinds of things. It was somehow controlled Ailey by Den. However the longer he spent in the world, the more and more he felt like he could slightly start controlling it. Walking away from the interrogation area, Maku would move to the corner of the room.

Moving to the seat that was clearly his as den was pulling out the chair and sitting at the table, Maku's hands began to move this way and that as if he was trying to build something out of clay. Over time a smalle amount of light would form and slowly very slowly something was created. Where there had been nothing, now a plate with a whole roasted chicken sat. Smiling at his work he was proud. He hadn't had a lot of time in this place but it seemed to react at least mildly well to his own chakra. So far this was the exent of any power he had though. Taking a bite, he would absent mindedly make a face. It tasted broccoli......well it looked right, just got the taste wrong.

He would watch and wait mostly however. Den had wanted to question her so he needed to let him do his work. Maku himself was more than capable of extracting by all the information from someone he could ever want, in a matter of seconds in fact. It would involve tearing into her mind...and possibly messing with the inner working of her mind and consciousness.....ok maybe it was better f Den just did his thing. It should be of note, that Maku hadn't activated his sharingan. Since his attitude of relaxation was displayed even in tense moments, this was the closest one could see that he was at his ease.

Once he had taken another bite he would ace his elbows on the table with his head in his hands and watch Akihana.

Sitting down across from the blonde woman, Den brushed a lock of his raven hair away from his face as he debated how to proceed. He could just read her mind and be down with it, with the amulet around his neck empowering his chakra he felt the woman wouldn't be able to resist any attempt to enter her mind, however Den wanted to at least ask first, as he felt the woman would most likely still struggle, and her chakra was potent enough that it would still be difficult to read her memories.

"I suppose I'll start by asking if you know anything about a Minorin Senju, any Kumo dealings with Funkagakure, or if you know anything about the 5 tailed beast?" Den would rest his hands on the desk, his eyes having returned to blue now that he was within the safety of his own world.

As he asked the question, he felt something strange. A kight bright appeared within the room, in between Maku's hands somehow. And Den hadn't caused it to happen. His blue eyes remained on the blonde, and didn't show a hint of his confusion, he appeared to ignore the fact that his brother was somehow conjuring a plate of food.

However the occurrence completely baffled him, if Akihana was surprised by the event Den's own surprise most likely outweighed hers. His brother was developing powers within Sanctuary? Den had thought it an ability he had gained from the snake Sages, yet his brother was manifesting abilities somehow as well. He wondered if this meant that the dimension he had created was somehow linked to his genetics, as Maku was the only person to have gained any sort of power within Sanctuary, and he had only known of the places existence for a short period of time, plenty of others had remained within Sanctuary for long periods and yet hadn't developed any powers at all. It was something Den would have to look into later though, despite the idea of not being the only one with power over Sanctuary unsettling him a bit, for now he had to focus on the interrogation.

The young woman barely glanced at Maku and his... peculiarities, choosing instead to focus her mind on Denkiteki and what she could and could not reveal. The kunoichi had expected the application of a jutsu, something that would force its way through her chakra barriers and invade her mind to get the information these men needed, so she was surprised when the firsts of the interrogation came in the form of a politely asked question. Surprised but not completely off guard, she herself often employed similar methods when conducting such sessions, preferring to form a rapport of sorts with the people she questioned. In most cases, it never had to go beyond that. Hardened criminals withstood pain and torture but often melted at a kind word or the offer of a cookie. It seems this young doctor was attempting the same methods on her.

"I don't know anyone by that name," she replied honestly, her golden eyes down and her hands neatly folded in her lap. While the clan name was familiar, Akihana didn't recognize the given name, not from personal meetings nor from having seen it written down anywhere. "As for any dealings between Cloud and Valcano, if they exist I do not know of them. Volcano keeps to itself mostly." This much was true, or at least so she had heard it said. Being the Raikage's secretary, Akihana had more than fair knowledge of Kumo's economic and diplomatic ties to other nations. Funka had never been one of them.

But the question abotu the tailed beast threw her off, making her glance quickly up at him before lowering her eyes once more. Had he already somehow figured out her secret? Was he asking just to be polite? The entire point of keeping a jinchuriki close to her had been to protect the boy. Ran had needed constant medical attention ever since that fateful mission and now... and now these people seem to know.

But there was no avoiding that question, so Akihana did her best to answer without lying, already aware that anytime she lied, she would be caught. Lying didn't come naturally to her and she certainly didn't need to antagonize the people holding her captive.

"I know of bijuu in general," she compromised, hands wringing in her lap and her frame shuddering slightly as Denkiteki questioned her. "Both the original tailed ones and the divergent variety. I have never personally encountered a Gobi though, only read about it during my... line of work."

PostSubject: Re: Dichotomy (Maku)   Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:00 pm

A shudder, a pause, how her eyes moved up to him and dropped to her own lap.  His senses where far more in-tuned to the world around him than he sometimes cared to have.   Yet they were all there.  Each movement she made was like a red flag, no that wasn't right.  More like a flashing red light forcing him to pay attention.  Looking up, the majority of the food still beneath him he examined her and his own eyes shifted.  He so casually flipped between EMS and his eyes it was like blinking with an extra skin or lens covering his eyes.  The process being completed in the time of the blink.

Her next comment was even more odd.  The divergent variety.  Where there more than the original 9.  Having one snatched from his grasp just when he had gotten one, he was interested in recovering another.  The prospect of there being that many was a little off putting.  The uniquness of the beasts he had once revered seemed a little less impressive.  In fact, he couldn't even fully put his finger on why this was such a let down.  As someone who had always strived to be unique, it now seemed almost boring.  Though he doubted that would stop the hunt either way.

"When you answer a question you should maintain eye contact if your going to lie.  It just makes things seem a bit more real, don't cha know."  His voice was calm, velvet.  Easy, as if he was talking to a student who he was prepping for a mission.  He had no idea if she was really lieing, but he used his own advice to perfection.  His tone gave off every impression that he had spoke easy to even more show his confidence that what she had just said was a lie.  Well, they'd find out, but sometimes all you had to do was call someone out on something, and even if they didn't mean to they would still admit it.

His comments where only directed at the bijuu statement as up until then her body language had exuded confidence.  His red eyes streaked in black where locked on her own eyes, whether she wanted to make eye contact or not.  He did not get angry, or allow his body language to give off this impression.  All in all, it was still his easy boyish way through life.

He would continue to watch her as Den inevitably continued to ask questions and sift through what she had just said.  Not letting his eyes move, or even so much as blink.  Yes his face was locked in that easy amused yet bored look.  As if while this was amusing, it still was far from the thing he would most like to be doing at the moment.

Even as he did all this, his chakra continued to flux, and flow into the realm around them.  He did not need to break his gaze to control his chakra.  Everything he had ever learned and trained as was chakra related.  To allow it to move this way and that, to interact was like flexing a hand.  His chakra would continue to flood the immediate area around him, not trying to take control of Sanctuary, just intermingling with it.

He was unsure if Den could sense such an action, if it would upset him, or really anything about it.  There was nothing threatening in his action, almost like wiggling into a seat to get more comfortable.  He had done his bit, he had commented on what he had seen from the female, this was still the Denkitiki show, Maku was happy to play the side act for now.

PostSubject: Re: Dichotomy (Maku)   Fri May 01, 2015 4:17 pm

Akihana claimed no knowledge of the first two questions, and as far as Den could tell she seemed to tell the truth. It was as he asked about the 5 tailed beast that she seemed to falter, her golden eyes meeting his for a moment before looking down. What had that emotion been on her face? Den wondered if this meant she knew something, but unless they were involved in Minorin’s murder why would a Kumogakure ninja have any reason to care about the beast? The beast had resided in Tengakure before being given to Kirigakure as a gift to its vassal, and after the destruction of Kirigakure Den had taken its jinchuriki back to Tenga. What reason did this woman have to care about the 5 tails, he didn’t see how she could be connected to either village in which the beast had resided.

As he contemplated the meaning of Akihana’s sudden reaction, she must have been contemplating her response. As she spoke, Den was suddenly very confused by her statements… divergent variety… referring to the gobi as though there could be more than one, “a Gobi”. Was she trying to baffle them to try and get them sidetracked from the original questions? Both Den and Koukuo believed that had to be it, they had heard nothing of any divergent beasts. How could there be more than the 9? The beasts had been created by the primordial 10 tailed beast’s chakra, and that’s gone now. So how could there be more?

Maku spoke first of the two brothers, giving Akihana tips about lying. Den assumed that meant Maku was also of the opinion that the divergent variety seemed a silly attempt at trying to derail the conversation.

So when Den spoke he didn’t address it, “In your line of work? You said you dealt with trauma patients.” Only reason a medical ninja would need to know about bijuu is if they had to take care of one if it somehow sustained a wound it couldn’t heal from, or more likely that they had to care for a jin. Den’s mind shifted to the boy who was still not moving, sustained by a life support unit in Den’s realms away. He wondered if the woman had learned about bijuu to perhaps try and heal some injury of his or maybe she developed some genjutsu to try and ease his pain, and perhaps it had some effect on the beast within him as well. Could she have done something to cause the boys current state maybe? Doubtful, nothing seemed medically wrong with the boy, if he had sustained some sort of traumatic injury he had been extremely well taken care of, as Den could usually notice that sort of thing on his patients, especially while they were within Sanctuary.

He decided to as her another question as well, though it seemed that the woman might not tell him the information he needed. Which meant she was lying or just didn’t know, and the only way to know for sure was to read her mind. It was starting to seem inevitable, however if he could get some sort of lead from this woman perhaps he might not have to go through the trouble.

“Also, have you encountered any bijuu? Of either variety I suppose.” These words were spoken just after Den’s first question, and in truth was meant more as a trap than an actual question. Den wanted some sort of prove that she was lying, and while it could be possible that she didn’t know about the boy within Den’s lab, he didn’t have any time to investigate any claims of hers. This was her last chance to give him useful information, before he would have to search through her memories for them.

As he questioned her he felt an odd presence, Maku’s chakra was starting to flow throughout the room, within the fabric of Sanctuary itself. Den had at first been a bit uneasy about Maku gaining powers in Sanct, but as Den felt Maku’s presence spread he felt that emotion grow, but it wasn’t because he was upset that only he had powers within Sanctuary, the growing uncomfortable feeling seemed to stem from something else, and whatever it was seemed to have him suddenly on edge. He didn’t let the feelings break through his mask of an interrogator attempting to be polite.

It didn't surprise her that her discomfort had not gone noticed, after all, she herself would have been the first to pick on it were the situation reversed. What did surprise her briefly was that they took her fear for deceit. But then again, she supposed there were people who would lie under such circumstances, and these men couldn't be faulted for knowing that Akihana did not lie. Choosing to ignore Maku's words of wisdom on the art of deceit, she addressed his brothers question instead, a somewhat quizzical tone interring her voice.

"I do, my earlier training was done with medics who specialized in sealing bijuu in expecting mothers. The experience was fairly traumatizing I assure you." Where the slight hint of annoyance had entered her voice, the blonde couldn't say. If they were trying to prove she was a liar, then they had another thing coming, but if they truly wanted to hear her speak than they would have to do it on ehr terms. Otherwise a jutsu would prove her testimony just as real. "Sorry," she mumbled apolegitically out of habit however, not wanting to cause unnecessary ill will even if they were beyond that point right now.

"Realizing that the two might need a brief explanation on the matter, the kunoichi drew a breath and began. "The more senior... sealers," she refused to use the word "medics", she may have been young and not known what was happening at the time but those monsters were no medics. "They believed that a child would have a better chance of hosting a bijuu if it was attached to them before the child was born. it usually resulted in the mothers death, premature birth and often, infants deaths too simply because the body was too small and inexperienced to serve as a vessel." Another shudder tore through her body at the mental images. Akihana had thought telling it the second time wouldn't be as bed, she had been wrong.

"This was done for two reasons, one was obviously to find strong jinchuriki who were genetically more able to house a tailed beast, another was to... observe and record the way in which the test subjects died to see what kind of defense mechanics these beasts applied when inside a body, how they resisted, if they utilized a particular technique. The original nine were documented well enough by historians but the divergent variety is often identified by the unique way in which if affects the host." Shaking her head once more, the kunoichi looked up at Denkiteki, giving him a moment to process what she'd said before addressing his question.

"I have encountered three in my life thus far outside of the training I mentioned. I never interacted with the host then, I was... young and my job was more along the lines of... cleanup duty." Sewing the mother back together so her family could at least give her a proper funeral, cleaning the blood off the walls of the operating room when a child had torn his way out of the woman carrying it in a frenzy of uncontrollable bijuu laden chakra. "The first two were the divergent variety, one I sensed in its jinchuriki, the other I learned off when a host was brought in with very unique and severe symptoms." The same boy that was now sealed in a scroll strapped to her thigh, his body and organs slowly turning to stone in what Akihana could only assume was an advance and particularly stubborn case of leprosy.

"The third is the one in you,' she finished, her golden eyes clashing with Denkiteki's blue one. "Though I cannot sense it clearly enough to know what variety it is, or how many tails it has."

Though his eyes didn't leave her, they glossed over. She was talking about......something he supposed. It long stopped holding any interest to him. The thought of placing bijuu in children, that had no hope of controlling them wasn't something that he cared about. Having always believed strength belonged to those willing to take it, he could only see the prospect as easy pickings. All the same, it didn't really matter. He himself had proven to be easy pickings for all he knew. Perhaps he was as good at holding bijuu has one of these bloodied babes.

The thought angered him. While most of the time he had let the situation that had occurred wash off his back like the falling rain.....in this moment when his body was locked in an interrogation room, but his mind was held uninterested he couldn't help but think about it. He knew it was happening even as it was happening. Though he had always sought control of his chakra, his emotions, everything really, he could feel for the first time in perhaps a long time a momentary slippage.

While his body would only for te briefest of moments give a slight shudder, it was with chakra perception one would truly feel the change. Maku's chakra had always had a slight rose tinted gold. It was probably for that reason why his Susanoo appeared the same color. Except now, it started to dull, and blacken. Wether this could be perceived or not was up for debate, yet it was happening all the same. That realm within that had always felt sinister, that closed door in the basement of his soul seemed to crack ever so slightly as a light clicked on, as if something had finally pulled the cord.

It was this world that allowed it. This palace of hope and harmony that opened the cellar of pain and discord that had so long lived and lay dormant within Maku. It was the kind of confusion one had when they believed they had committed not only matricide but also resulted in the death of an uncle. Only to discover this was a lie, and they had merely been mercenaries. The confusion of not knowing what, who you are, where you came from. The knowledge that in a world where you desired greatness you came from nothing and you didn't even know how much f nothing you really were.

All the while his chakra continued to seep, no that's not the right word. His chakra flooded into the world around him, and though he had no idea it had occurred somewhere deep within this realm something crawled from the primordial ooze his chakra had created, and a small song could be heard. A discord, an untuned strong being twanged. With that......something had been born.

As for everything else going on, Maku was to consumed with his own thoughts to interfere with Akihana or Den's continued talk, even though he tries his best to look like he was paying attention.
